Defeat for Perdan in Bescanon 28 May 1014

Sirion, Eponllyn and Nivemus scored a crushing double victory against Perdan breaking through the level two walls in the region and raising them to the ground today and yesterday. Perdan's army had had Eponllyn trapped in Nascot but with the help of Sirion and Nivemus forces that moved from Morshes to Troyes and then Troyes to Bescanon they were able to break through and beat out Perdan from the region. Perdan suffered large losses in both battles the second being when the late cavalry arrived. Unfortunately very few militia were able to be recruited by the region lord. Overall this was a good day for the Nothern alliance.

Westmoor was able to win some minor skirmishes in Bruck and Troyes but with Sirion returning we may have to return into the city as the northern alliance still has ample forces left.

Skirmish in Bruck 22 May 1014

Perdan with some Westmoorian forces recently won a battle in the region of Bruck against a mixture of Nothern Alliance forces. The victory went clearly to Perdan. Even though there were very large forces (16K vs 11K)involved this was only a part of the NA forces which were defeated. The main army of the Nothern Alliance holds firm in Troyes and seems to be moving out and splitting into two groups (if scout reports are true). Eponllyn is moving south into Perdanese territory and Sirion towards Morshes. The defeat of this smaller army in Bruck was a good opening for the SA and will help even the playing field against the nothern alliance's currently larger military.

Perleone elects new Queen only to abdicate

Perleone recently elected Kallimira Elvinfir as it's new queen with a vote tying with Gaston Motosuwa the admirer of fine women. It seems however that the queen has already stepped down plunging Perleone into further chaos. The realm was devastated by the glacier and snow trolls after taking part in the previous campaign against Sirion and the disastrous battle of Al Amarah. While their troops were in the north their regions were wrecked or even completely covered in ice by the glacier and it's monstrous creatures. Now it seems a number of the nobles of Perleone have moved to join Perdan next door as the realm has become 'unsustainable' in the words of some.

Meanwhile in Sirion the realm recently lost it's judge Erik Eyolf Serpentis which is surprising as we thought he was doing a good job. If anyone knows any more on the story about why Erik was kicked out or left of his own accord write in and we'll publish it.

Krimml cedes again... twice! 19 May 1014

The city of Krimml under the leadership of Giselle Relak yesterday left Westmoor's hands and betrayed us joining our enemies Sirion. Krimml originally belonged to Sirion but Giselle took the city to Westmoor after the full might of the SA began a takeover of the city in order to save the people from Fallangard's rule last month. However now that the tables have turned and Sirion is winning the war Duchess Giselle decided to rejoin Sirion to save her own skin. Sirion's judge Erik Eyolf Serpentis however refused to take her back banning her from the realm with the following message: Krimml is not a toy you can give to whom you want, when you want. You're no longer welcome here.. Upon receiving the ban Giselle changed sides again today to Sirion's ally Eponllyn. It seems quite clear that Duchess Giselle is only interested in holding onto her own position as Margrave of the city and cares nothing for the people of Krimml if she had then she would have stepped down upon returning the city to Sirion. This will undoubtedly put pressure on Westmoor's judge Gregor Relak currently wounded in Greatbridge.

In other news the war has not been going well. After winning the first siege of Ashforth we were beaten back by Sirion and allied forces and the SA was forced into a refit during which Sirion was able to gather it's forces and siege Krimml. There have been some position changes in Perdan as well with King Atanamir losing the throne to sickness only to return as General. Blythe Claireborne then took the throne in Perdan. Westmoor recently had some victories against Nivemus in the region of Poitiers beating them twice in narrow victories before having to retreat against Eponllyn reinforcements. With the support of the returning Perdanese armies we were able to force Eponllyn and Nivemus out of Westmoor but with no victory yet against Eponllyn. We have also managed to take back the region of Troyes while Nivemus gained the region of Poitiers while rogue. We must apologize for not bringing you all this news but we have been fighting for our lives here in Westmoor and this editor has been busy as both Marshal and Treasurer.

The war takes it's toll 4 May 1014

Before we get on with the news of today it is worth catching up on the last week of which we missed (apologies to readers!). The war has certainly taken it's toll on Westmoor. After the defeat in the region of Al Amarah Sirion was able to conduct a ruthless campaign of revenge across Westmoor's regions looting all of Westmoor's original rurals (at the start of the war) into roguery except for Morshes. We are particularly grateful that the bulk of Sirion's destruction was focused on these other regions as this paper is printed in Morshes and it enabled us to get the current issue out a lot more easily.

From the map below the extent of the damage done in this long period when the SA was busy regrouping and refitting (not including Westmoor who were not engaged in battle except for a narrow victory over Nivemus in Bruck a few days back) can be seen. Greatbridge a Sirion region was handed to Eponllyn and Bruck had a peasant rebellion and joined Eponllyn of it's own accord. Westmoor city remains untouched so far due to Westmoor's mobile army protecting it. To summarize regions we've lost since the war began are: Bruck, Hagley, Troyes, Poitiers and Evora. Regions we have gained are Dulbin and the city of Krimml.

Ryu Hinamoto missing

It is uncertain exactly what happened to Sirion's current general. General Ryu had done well with Sirion's armies and enabled the Nothern alliance to do the damage seen on the map above however he has disappeared from Sirion at a very crucial time. The Southern Alliance mobile force has entered the Nivemus region of Oberndorf and the Nothern alliance mobile force counter attacked Bruck from the city of Oligarch. Now we have two very huge armies from multiple realms encamped in opposite regions next to multiple cities and Sirion is without it's general. Who knows what will happen next?
