Roleplay from Sorsha McDowell

It had been a few days since everything had taken place. Of course the whispers of what had almost happened seemed to never stop. Everywhere she turned, Sorsha couldn’t escape it.

After her long walk around the city, she had returned to the Royal Palace. Reports had been brought to her. Information which she read, set aside but never glanced at again.

Mathias had approached her asking her if she was well and she had kissed him with a smile to reassure him but after that she had kept mostly to herself, in fact so did he.

She spent the afternoon in the royal garden, sitting on a stone bench, trying to find peace. Lasair would follow her, and set his head on her lap as she quietly pet him. She knew Mathias could read her, in fact he knew her better than anyone which was probably why he watched her from a distance. She could feel him whenever he was in the same room, but she didn’t say anything and he gave her the space she needed.

Ignoring him had not been her intention but she simply had too much on her mind.

The next day she had gone to the market and looked for the perfect fabric for her wedding gown. Only she never did find it. Deep down, her heart wasn’t in it.

She loved Mathias so much, she wanted to wed him but somehow the need to have vows exchanged that instant didn’t seem as urgent as it had before. Or maybe she was just afraid that if they did, something else would go wrong.

She had taken to wandering aimlessly, she did find some things she would need for the wedding, but her dress would unfortunately be last.

For the most part she had been incredibly silent. Shortly after their stay in Port Raviel, Mathias had returned to Port Nebel and she had left with him to return to Nebel. She needed to take care of several issues.

When she returned home, she had made arrangements for new knights, and then had tried to take care of the ones that were already there.

It seemed she couldn’t escape it, even if she tried. Her current knights counted Bowie, Alden and the confessor had made it so Rathan would be added to the list.

She had been so infuriated that whenever someone so much as tried to speak with her, she snapped. It had gotten so bad, the servants stopped coming to her. Lorlan was back and in good health, but even he kept his distance. She had dictated so many letters, trying to be as courteous as possible but one afternoon she’d had enough and just left the estate completely.

Sometimes later she was riding Gaoth through the dense forests, through a small trail in the southern edge of Nebel. She couldn’t recall ever being there and looked at everything with awe, everything looked beautiful. She heard a light rumbling and made her way to it. When she did, she stopped her stallion and smiled. Before her the trees opened up, revealing a lake with a crystalline surface. The rumbling she had heard came from a waterfall to one side. She got off her horse and sat on the edge for some time. She removed her leather gloves and her hand trailed the surface. The water was cool and refreshing in comparison to the sweltering heat of summer. She looked down to her skin tight leathers and a small grin spread across her lips. Sorsha walked around to the other side of the lake. Making sure no one was around, she removed her leathers and slipped into the water.

She undid her long braid, and sunk her head beneath the surface and swam to the waterfall. For the first time that week, she was able to forget everything and enjoyed a moment of peace.

Roleplay from Mathias Ridder

Mathias had ridden out of Port Nebel with the intention of finding his wife to be. Too many times now he had been interrupted while trying to spend time with her, and he decided he would do his best not to let that happen again today.

Arriving in Nebel, Mathias discovered that his love had gone out for a ride but a little while before he arrived in the region. Riding in the direction he was told Sorsha had gone off to he was quickly able to find fresh tracks from what must have been Sorsha's horse. Mathias ended up riding for close to an hour before he finally found the end of the tracks.

Having arrived at a waterfall he quickly spotted his love bathing in the waters. Dismounting his horse, Mathias quickly disrobed and having the sounds of him entering the water muffled by the waterfalls noise he was able to easily swim up behind Sorsha unnoticed. Popping out of the water behind her Mathias slid his hands into her hair, and then turning her around, passionately kissed her. She seemed shocked at first as if she didn't know it was Mathias who had just surprised her but she was quick to realize who he was. "Mo Searc, I couldn't bare to be away from you any longer..."

Sorsha had been swimming with her eyes closed, enjoyed the water as it fell near her in a white froth. She had cleared her mind completely and not given thought to anything else but this peaceful moment of serenity when she felt something touch her hair.

Startled, she moved up and out of the water and then was pulled away to a long passionate kiss. She instinctively recognized him and returned the kiss. Her arms rested on each side of his neck and her fingers slid into his hair. “Mathias…” she whispered his name with a smile. “I’ve missed you,” she told him and kissed him again. His hands trailed down her back to her thighs. Bringing her closer he then picked her up in his arms and she wrapped her legs around him.

“Did you come to finish what we started?” she teased as she looked down at him.

Her wet hair was so dark, it looked black and trailed the surface of the water behind her. Small water drops slid down her face and off her chin and she reached up to wipe them away. Her blue violet eyes locked into his blues and she grinned.

Mathias sat there for few second staring into Sorsha's eyes, taking in her beauty. Unable to hold back anymore Mathias took her by the hand and led her behind the waterfall where a small cave laid covered by the waterfall so that none could see or hear what was behind.

After an entire day spent behind the waterfall, making love in the cave and in the sparkling water without even the tiniest distraction, Sorsha and Mathias decided to leave and return home. They dressed one another, sharing passionate kisses as they did. And then they took to their horses and made way to her estate.

The sun had begun to set, and in the light dusk she gave Mathias lingering looks of desire. Still she remembered the feeling of his fingertips trailing over her skin. The hot sensation of his kisses still left an impression but more so the sheer ecstasy of becoming one with him filled her so, she couldn’t stop smiling.

She felt different now, amazingly different. Like she had become a new person, and had seen a side of herself she never knew existed. In their throes of passion, she had come to realize how intensely and fiercely she loved Mathias and felt the same from him.

In the secrecy of their cave, she had admitted to him how scared she was, and why she had been so distant. She was so afraid something would go wrong again, that their wedding would be interrupted, or something else would steal their attention and keep them so occupied there wouldn’t be a chance to exchange their vows. But he had reassured her with soft words, telling her that nothing would get between them and she had begun to feel hope again.

When she returned home, she was smiling once more. The servants were a bit surprised, but grateful for her change of mood. Mathias informed her he had to return to Port Nebel and would meet her in Port Raviel afterwards. They had shared a bittersweet kiss as they said goodbye and she watched him leave, unable to tear her eyes away until he was gone from sight.

Lorlan then approached her with some letters and she took the time to read them, frowning as she did. Maybe her fear had been genuine after all… She folded the orders and set them back on the tray beside her. Lost in thought.

Mathias had only been gone a short while but already she missed him so much.
