Magna Serpaensism/Church Structure and Sects/Herpetarians

The Herpetarians are the Priests of the Church, spreading the word of Magnus to the commoners, and nobles alike. Three divisions exist within the priesthood. The most senior priests are accorded the rank of Maximus, those stalwart priests who have many sermons in their repertoire and having done the Church significant service through preaching or translating the ancient works are accorded the rank of Modicus. Priests still proving themselves to the Elder Clergy hold no special rank and are merely Herpetarians.
