MacColl Family/Treibh MacColl

Descended from the pirate, Coll Mór Muirridhe, the House of MacColl is divided into two septs, the first descending from his wife, the second from his mistress.

When Coll gave up the sea and settled in Alanurs, he took to wife the daughter of a Count of Batesaor. The descendants of that union are dedicated to upholding the laws of chivalry. One of the most famous of this sept is Rory MacColl.

Coll also had a mistress--a tavern scut from the brothels of Batesaor. When Coll's wife died suddenly and under mysterious circumstances, a persistent rumor sprang up that this mistress had killed her with poison. The descendants of this union lived ever under a dark cloud of infamy on that account. Although they inherited Coll's courage and gallantry, they are heirs, too, to the dark and ruthless savagery of Coll's mistress. This sept includes an'Olc and Gann.
