Leif Björn

Leif grew up in the fairly rich (for commoners) Björn Family in the Cagilan county of Alaise. The older of five children, Leif was known as a problem child in their family. Quick to blame others for his failings, Leif was never particularly like in the family. Luckly for him, his brother Nils was able to temper his older brother, though most were not sure if he was doing this to truly help Leif or simply to use him as a lightning rod to direct attention away from his own misdeeds.

At just prior to his 18th birtday, Leif decided he had enough of his family and announced that he was off to make his fortunes as a Knight of the Realm. Getting his family to pull some strings, Leif was taken on as a vassal of Desiree Luthor, Viscountess Alaise and was given a small number of archers to command. Shortly after gaining the title of Knight (a point which he attributes to his skill alone, greatly forgetting that the appointment was nearly bought for him by his family), he was assigned to the Eaglin Eagles and sent off to war.

His first battle in Nazgorn was a dismal failture for the Empire, and Leif's poor command skills eventully lead to his entire unit being killed in the viscious melee. Returning to Cagil to recruit more men, he met a career soldiers named Eckhart who he took on as his Captain. Since that time, Leif has continued to command his unit poorly, but thanks to Captain Eckhart, this has not been the disaster that it could have been to his troops. He has since been seen in several battles across the Empire, from the Capital of Cagil fighting undead to the far away province of Changsu fighting Falasani forces.
