While growing up, Trenton had been the epitome of the bastard son. Conniving and backstabbing, where Dormondt's exploits were good natured and while sometimes costly, never putting the target at risk.

Trenton followed Dormondt into the world, joining the Stormfist warband early on, just as it joined the Southern Free Trade Alliance in order to move goods through the continient.

When Dormondt fell upon hard times and decided to leave the Continent, Trenton followed. It is rumoured that Trenton killed Dormondt and caused a wreck at sea.

Trenton emerged upon the Far East Island with a band of sailors who were again and again threatened as they made their way across the land. At one point they were in such a desparate situation that it was decided that they would make a suicide charge out of the woodlands and attack the cavalry units that had been hounding their tracks for days. The ferocity of that onslaught gave his sailors-turned-archers their name, the Unholy Charge.

Eventually the crew made their way into Idaol, off of the eastern coast of the continent. There he requested and was granted sanctuary. The lifestyle of the Republic of Batesaor was a welcome return for his unit, and they found a ready home there. Trenton became a Knight of Idaol, under Count Valius, and later became a member of the Hall of Blood and Battle, a warriors guild which started to spread rapidly across the southern half of the island. It almost appears that Trenton had turned over a new leaf, but time will tell.

The Death of Trenton Lankmere

There was a strong gusting wind in Todtpiz on the day of his death. The combined armies of the Grand Lodge, Nighthelm and the Commonwealth had set up defenses and were hoping to put and end to Soliferum's aggression.

Trenton surveyed the battlefield as the Marshals of both sides shouted orders to their commanders. Among the forced of the Grand Lodge and it's allies, the Banners of the Hall of Blood and Battle could be seen in a number of places.

There had been a number of feints from both sides as a soldier or group of soldiers get up the courage to make a short rush into the killing zone. They would hurl curses at the enemy taunting them to break formation, then seeing that they were exposed the soldier would realise the peril he was in and return to his place in the battle line.

After an unbearable length of time the drums started to mark the heartbeat of the battle, occasional horn blasts would be heard, sending orders up and down the battle lines. Finally the order to advance was hear being given to the Soliferum first line and the battle began.

As Trenton led the Defenders of the Lodge into the fray, he noticed that they were drawing a heavy amount of archer fire. His men were doing a good job of protecting themselves, and they slammed into the Soliferum front line. Swords clashed and the screams started in earnest. Trenton called to his men willing them forward. They were just breaking through the first ranks shield wall when a new hail of arrows rained down upon them. Trenton swung his shield into the face of the warrior across from him, and then pushed past. As he did so, he felt a searing pain in his thigh as an arrow buried itself deep into his leg. Gritting his teeth, he chanced a quick look at his men, they were doing well, but about ten had fallen to the storm of arrows.

Trenton saw a break in the action and scanned the troops in front of him hoping to select a target that would stop the barrage. He found the commander of the unit that was causing the Defenders so much damage. NLaw was positioned near a signaller, sending orders to the unit of archers that had caused the damage. With a cry Trenton urged his men to break through to the Soliferum noble and led the charge.

He ran, attempting to ignore the pain in his leg, desperation lending him the will to move on. He could see that the battle, which had started with the Grand Lodge taking heavy losses, had begun to turn as Sols archers' effectiveness was neutralized by the short range. He was about ten yards from NLaw, shouting a challenge, when a fresh volley of arrows cut through the advance.

An arrow pierced his chest plate, and another found its mark in his stomach. A third ran through the eyepiece in his helmet and Trenton was no more.

The battle continued to rage as the Grand lodge and its allies fought off the Soliferum forces. Gradually the defenders secured the battlefield, as the attacking forces were captured or fled the field.

Now the task of sending the warriors home would begin.
