Kybcyell (Realm)/History

The Founding Days

When war was on the horizon between the Ash Sea Islands and Abington due to a broken peace treaty, Minas Ithil and Talerium joined together to aid the ASI in the coming conflict. Knowing that it would take nearly two weeks for their forces to refit after taking loses, they dicided it was in their best intrests to form a colony on Abington soil in order to continue the fight. Once fighting broke out, the combined forces stormed Abington's western border, overwhelmed the defenders, and captured the city of Wayburg. (Real-world: July 24, 2006) Voluteers were called for and the new monarchy began to take shape with Hottori as our realm's Steward.

Kybcyell's first test came imediately, and from its own founding realms. The 1500CS of colonists in a stronghold (level 4) were attacked by the 40,000CS Minas Ithil, Talerium, and few Abington forces. Obviously, the colony didn't stand a chance, but they stood strong to protect thier new realm. The will and determination shown by these men and women against all odds proved that they were prepared for the daunting task of fighting Abington. (OOC truth: Colonies are neutral to everyone. Many Minas Ithil and Talerium TL's were set to aggressive and therefore attacked. Their realm-mates joined along with the Abingtons.)

Set-back

As Wayburg was brought under control, the Minas Ithil and Talerium support moved east towards Sudferd to engage to Abington army that was surely comming away from this new realm. However, due in part to a bad choice of formation and the Abingtons showing up unexpectedly soon, they were crushed. With that victory, our allies fell back to refit as Abington marched on our city with 19,000CS against our 9,000CS in a keep (level 3). We put up a good fight but we were defeated and they occupied the city. For 5 days we held on to our fair city and kept the Abington's from taking it back. Then at last, an ASI relief force arrived. After our Steward Hottori declared Abington to be evil incarnate, whipping the citizens into a frenzy of hatred, we recruited every willing able-bodied man into the army and launched our counter-attack. The TO was broken, but Abington could not be driven from the city.

A Temporary Defeat

Days turned to weeks. Help had not yet arrived and a brutal TO began. Feeling the stress, two TL's, Darez and Yal'rassia, were driven mad and deserted to Abington. Just as Minas Ithil, Talerium, and ASI gathered north of the city, Abington took the city. (August 20, 2006)

Though Kybcyell is defeated, its spirit will live on. A new realm will be built in its place and Abington will know this day as their high point in the war. Though a candle may fade and die, it can light one hundred to take its place.
