History

Growing up as a girl in a family that lived by the sword takes its toll. Celine was never raised for war, although she was extremely effective with a sword due to her blood. Her father focused on breeding his oldest son, Jet, for war. And he did not think that woman were supposed to participate in battle, no matter how good they might be. It was a mans job, and it always would be. Her mother was of the same conviction, thought that women should be raised to support their husband, and provide him with whatever he may need.

Her fathers disregard for her abilities, combined with her mothers pamperous indoctrination of her into womanhood, caused Celine to become quite rebellious. At the age of 13, she had taken on a habit of not paying for anything, and was becoming quite well versed in the art of thievery. She did not become involved in any sort of guild, but she did run into trouble with the local thieves, as they did not care much for a rich kid stealing their marks. They never caught her, though, and neither did the guards.

But her parents did not, either. Her mother still forced her into corsets and filled her head with make-up, and her father drilled [Jet continuously. No matter how accomplished she got as a thief, it would not matter to her parents. Had they found out, their punishment would have been severe.

She still trained herself in combat, whenever her brother was not using the grounds. Her fascination of weapons and blood had not diminished while her love with the night grew. But she had also realised that there were other feelings growing in her. And these were even more forbidden than the ones she had developed so far. But they were, however, more fitting for a lady.

Argo, Jet's personal servant, had awakened the young girls lust, and for the first time she was worried that she might not get what she wanted. The punishment would be severe if they were discovered, and she did not know if Argo even cared for her. She could force herself on him, but she did not want to. She wanted to feel something real, something natural. And it took her a long time to approach him.

Luckily for her, her feelings were returned. Argo cared as much for her as she did for him, and she got her first taste of love. To her, it was just as thrilling as swordfighting, and just as exciting as sneaking in the night. But they were not able to fully realise their relationship, and it mainly came to stolen kisses in the night, or whenever they could find the time.

Celine figured that Jet would find out, but she trusted that he would not tell the parents. He too knew what such an action would mean to Argo, and they actually managed to keep their love a secret until the day Jet had to leave for South-East Island.

And on that day, Celine despaired. She realized that [Argo was going to follow Jet, and there was no way her parents were going to let her go to fight with them. After thinking long and hard, she came to a decision. When Jet had left, she went to bed, pretending to be sick, and then snuck out, taking some gold from the family chest. She trailed after her brother to the port.

And there she found Argo, too. She talked to him, told him she wanted to go with him. He wanted to be with her, too. But he would be too worried that something may happen to her, and he told her that she should talk to her brother about it. Celine did so, still convinced that she wanted to go with them, and her brother did not try to convince her otherwise.

But it quickly became clear to her, after hearing the stories about South-East Island, that she would not be able to survive there. The needless death of soldiers was not something she was interested in. And even if she went, she would not be able to help out in the way she really wanted. But she could not return to her home, not now. She had already made her decision.

She found Argo again, and spent a brief night of passion with him. That would be the memory she would need to gain strength for what lay ahead. It was a wonderful night, and when she said goodbye to him the next morning, she was still worried that anything might happen to him. She pushed those thoughts away once she could no longer see the ship in the horizon. Focus what needed if she was to succeed.

She spent some weeks in the city, stealing enough gold to hire a ship and a crew. Celine needed to get as far away from her family as possible, and she needed to do it fast. As luck would have it, she even managed to find some ex-soldiers that would not mind working for her if she could provide them with pay. The protection was then secured, and she was ready.

The next day she took off, towards Greater Aenilia in the Far East. They would never find her there. And when she would meet with her brother again, she would be strong enough to go with Argo, no matter what battles Jet would drag him into.

It was going to be a hard trip, but she had full confidence in her abilities.

Timeline

A New Beginning 12th of November, 2006

She had arrived. The rural region she had landed in, Erahol, had not been much of a sight. Few cities, a small force of militia patrolling the street, and a fort. But it was not home, and she could not help her excitement. Getting to the Far East had been a dangerous journey, and although she missed her brother and Argo, there was no way she could get to South-East Island now.

She had to make the most of it, but her confidence was in order. The men she had with her might not be very disciplined, but if her predictions were correct, they would soon be unnecessary. In her future line of work they would only be an obstacle.

And she hoped her skills would find employment soon.

Adjustments 5th of December, 2006

It had not gone as she had hoped, but it had worked out just as well. Adjusting to the realm was not nearly as hard as she had thought, and she had already sworn allegiance to Lord Tharion of Ornaz in return for housing and pay. The tournament in Masahakon had gone quite well, with her making it to the third round despite her inexperience in jousting. But she had not forgotten about Jet, nor [Argo.

She hoped Argo would visit her soon. In the meantime, she would continue training her troops as one of the Knights in the Aenilian army. They had to be prepared for anything.
