Hobbs Family History

The Hobbs family is decended from a line of wealthy Omsk merchants originally from the city of Kazakh. They were loyal to their nation, but never overly involved in politics - until one fateful event changed the family forever.

Having grown up in the business, the two brothers Ramil and Anidar had visited and talked with people from places all over the continent, exposing them to many new and foreign ideas. As they matured, the brothers developed very different beliefs in religion, politics, and - unfortunately - how to run the business. When it came their time to inherit the business, Ramil, the younger of the two, wanted to be in charge of as much as he could, while the elder Anidar preferred to manage from a higher level.

After a time of frequent conflicts, Ramil began to run his own trading trips to the east, and was lured by offers of prestige and fame from a now-forgotten noble of Sirion. A few days after one of these expeditions, a warehouse accident claimed the life of Anidar. While the rest of the family grieved, Ramil gathered the family fortune and disappeared in the night.

Their cousin Togras raised Anidar's two young sons, Kodak and Kendel, and daughter, Juil, and also took over what remained of the family's business. His own son Larik would inherit the business when he died many years later, but the others would all leave home to find their destiny elsewhere.

Although the details of what Ramil did with all the money aren't clear, it is known that a large part went to funding one of Sirion's many armies, while he lived a life of ease in Tabost. He had one son, Reylan, before an assassin's poisoned arrow took his life a few years later. Although his name never became widely known, his nephews and son would go on to gain much more fame than he would have ever imagined.
