...Just as Faust started moving away from the edge of the flame chard clearing, a deep rumbling growl emanated from the trees behind him, spinning with his blade at the ready, Faust saw the outline of the Alpha he had only seen glimpses of in his flight. The thing was easily a head taller than the other Furoks, and had red stripes in its fur, like huge bleeding gashes. More surprising was the weapon it had in its hand, a war hammer, all in gleaming steel, with a hammer head one side, and a bill on the back. Its head was adorned with a bronzed engraving that glowed like fire in the light of the dying flames. It was a weapon that should have been wielded by a resplendent knight upon the battlefield, not a freakish creature in the woods...
