The Godwin family originates from Zamor on the Eastern Continent where they were a minor and insignificant family though hardworking and with high values of loyalty and trust. This was changed by the first born, William who left the family home soon after becoming an adult and set sail to the Colonies where he joined Giblot, his younger brother Rufus followed soon after but rather than live in his brother's shadow became a knight of Wetham. Their cousin Harold was eager also to leave his home and went to the new world of Dwilight and became one of the founding nobles of the Grand Duchy of Fissoa.

William Godwin

The eldest and most successful of the family, William arrived at Giblot and became a knight and soldier under the then Baron of Steepglades and Marshal of the Northern Hammers Samwise II Gamgon. William and Samwise commanded the Northern Hammers together until Samwise became General. As a Marshal William fought many battles, usually he was victorious. Eventually he was made Count of Wirkfyr and was later elected General of Giblot himself.

William is the most warlike of the family, always eager to march out and meet the enemy rather than take the defensive in war. Like all the Godwins he is fiercely loyal and has a strong sense of duty and honour. He now seeks to avenge his brothers death at the hands of his enemies.

Rufus Godwin

Also making his home in the Colonies, Rufus fought for Wetham. He fought under several Lords and was currently a knight of Lavraz. He was far more refined than his relatives preferring to hunt out in the forests of Wetham than lead men into battle but was loyal and gladly went wherever he was needed. Rufus died defending the walls of Wetham city from a force of Assassins and Lukonites

Harold Godwin

The youngest of the three Harold makes his home in Dwilight. Originally part of Madina, he was one of the army that captured Paisly in the name of Madina whilst a knight of Fissoa Fields under Lord Eldrond Narbal. When Fissoa became a separate realm Harold went with it. He fought against monsters for a long time as a simple knight before being made SiC of the Fissoan Privateers and shortly afterward the Viscount of Munawai.
