Discovery

Ardmore, on the border between the land governed by humans and the territories swallowed by the Blight, was swept by a strong wing that day. Rumors of monsters sneaking from the unspoken blighted land terrorizing the countryside reached Tracotanzio, who in turn began the hunt. Riombara was full of strong undead armies, too often impossible to defeat by him alone, and his scars remembering him how foolish was even to try. Monsters were different, they were weaker and fewer, yet hard to spot in decent numbers to provide a reliable income for a hunter by work.

Finally, his perseverance was rewarded and he could spot and track two large warbands led by monsters chieftains. Huge and intelligent beasts that didn't wait to use their cronies as meatshields against the precise and brave strikes of Tracotanzio. On that windy day, the south of Ardmore was purged from monsters. Towns could finally sleep safely again, and Tracotanzio held in his hands the treasuries of his successful and exhausting hunt, the Faewood Shield and the Vest of Strength, both items forgotten since another era but still soaked in magic.
