Exiled Family/San

The mysterious blademaster

San is something of an enigma. Born in suspicious circumstances, he is supposedly illegitimate son, and lived in seclusion. From this though, he developed a keen interest in the ways of the sword, and is reputed for the way he and his men wield their dual swords. As a swordfighter San holds some repute, and within a week of joining his chosen realm, the Grand Lodge of Lunaria in the Far East he had proven himself in the preliminary rounds of a tourney, earning him some small repute. However, this made him realise that he still has much to learn in the ways of warfare and is now vowing to train in the academy until his skills improve. Now that he has spent months in training, he is a mighty swordsman, though he prefers not to announce that, preferring to be kept in relative anonymityto give the more arrogant but less skilled nobles a surprise. He is good friends with the brothers Tiernan and Brian Fionn of the GLoL, and he has sworn to help his friends against the evil and arrogance of Valion Hendrix, who he met at his first tournament with Tiernan.

He is also a friend of Anya Merry, a newer noble of the Grand Lodge, now married to his friend Tiernan. His role in Masahakon has been appreciated by both.

San has recently been appointed as Marshal of the Army of Ortedail, the capital of GLoL, and given a commemorative blade for the event as well by Excalibur, Duke of Ortedail and Paladin Primus of the Grand Lodge. His twin blades, Malakar and Darksteel, are still his weapons of choice, but he had to have new blades remade for his role as a Destroyer of Chaos in the Guardians of Twilight, though he kept them the same style and named them the same names, they are forged better and blessed by Luna, so that San is now even more confident of his abilities.

Due to a very surprising turn of events, San was made rich and famous in another tournament where he was paid and became better known not to take part in not only the swordfighting, but also the jousting!

San has now won a tournament in Masahakon, defeating many skilled blademasters to come top, even defeating the narcisstic Renquest!

After the death of Alex and Widfara, San sought vengeance, emigrating to return to the ancestral home of the family in Itorunt.

In his time there he fought a few minor skirmishes at home against monsters, but time gave way to his sadness and he stopped seeking revenge after being broken by news of the death of his great friend Brian Fionn against the forces of Itorunt and Yssaria when he did not move. He was a at a tournament at the time and wwas elated at achieving the highest recorded swordfighting at 90% but the news of his great friends death disillusioned him enough to lose against the ultimate victor, Yarah, former Imperator of Arcaea back in the Far East. Since then though he recovered and though he felt burnt out, he redeemed himself by showing off, again, 90% at a tournament in Castle Ubent which he then went on to win and take home the prize of 400 gold. He now awaits further tournamnets since peace has broken out.

Within a month of arriving in Itorunt San was promoted to 2IC of the second division of Itorunt's Army and hired to be a member of the II, Alex's legacy.

San has won several tournaments and taken home a lot of gold at all the tournaments being declared in celebration of peace on the East continent, and as such has been donating much to the family fortune and the well being of his unit and realm. He has gained not inconsiderable amounts of prestige from tournament results and also gains a lot of honour from monster hunts due to his class as cavalier.

After some time San recieved a letter from the Far East bearing tidings of war between Soliferum and Lunaria. With some consideration, he finished in a tournament in Fontan City hosted by Light of Fountain, won it, and brought home the 1,000 gold prize. After sorting out his affairs, he bade farewell to his realmmates and hopped on a ship back to the east.

Upon arrival he found the gears of war were already in motiion. Barely having time to grab a group of men, he found that war reached Lunaria as after Lunaria lowereing relations with Soliferum too neutral due to dissolving an old treaty, Soliferum declared War (and later Hatred) upon Lunaria. he was shortly reinstated as the marshal of the Army of Ortedail and served in the role through several battles.

After the friendly takeover of Azohib, San "found" some documents declaring him as the Count of the region, in order to aid Lunarias war effort by maximising the output of the region. Though Azohib has been hotly contested territory, once having Soliferum brutalise it for 5 days before their takeover attempt was broken, it has never left Luanrian rule under the jurisdiction of San.

Meta:Character notes

San is possibly one of my most highly developed characters, on a parallel with Widfara. There could be a lot more here but writing it all out would be exhaustive.

San is the (illegitimate - though tell him that and he will smash your face in with his great swordfighting skills) half brother of the 3 legitimate siblings, Exiled Family/Alex, Exiled Family/Gorch and Exiled Family/Widfara, though his role in their upbringing has been remarkably uncertain. As a young man (from about the age of 15) he went looking for his own destiny, travvelling the lands of this world over many places. Though for many years he lived alone developing his peace of mind and resolve, along with his two signature katana's, Malakar and Darksteel (L.H. defensive and R.H. offensive respectively), when he did emerge on the shores of the Far East with his small band of infantry, he did well, becoming a Marshal in a very short while.

San has had his beliefs shaken by the death of most people he cared about - Widfara's and Alex's deaths in quick succession, followed by soon after the death of the man he treated as a brother, Brian in battle against his own realm, Itorunt.

He misses Lunaria, but is obliged to stay for the friendliness he enjoys on Alex's reputation in Itorunt - he may return home, but he finds it hard to politely excuse himelf - it may change with the emergence of the next character in the Itorunt chapter of the Exiled family history.

Obviously he left Itorunt... afetr several meetings with his niece, Amazonia, the daughter of Alex, so far not especially developed as a char... but I'm getting there :-) --The1exile 21:32, 4 March 2007 (CET)
