A war between Perleone and Yssrgard. The initial outbreak of war was over the defection of the Duchy of Isadril from the newly formed Yssrgard to Perleone by Duke Edvard.

Background

Sydgard and Fallangard merged in late 1019 to form the realm of Yssrgard. The decision was made in overwhelming majority between the nobility of the two nations, though some held objections, namely Duke Edvard of Isadril. Defecting with the Duchy of Isadril to Perleone, he voiced protest against the destruction of Fallangard's heritage and autonomy, though the Wolf King of Yssrgard remained King Alain of Fallangard.

Negotiations were opened between Yssrgard and Perleone, facilitated by the Imperial nation of Perdan, but found no resolution. Yssrgard approached Caligus to forge an alliance and made ready for war.

Opening Stages

Initially an even battle between the two nations, the Yssrgard-Caligan alliance slowly overwhelmed Perleoni troops, and pushed their influence back. Xavax, a historically Perleoni territory, was taken relatively swiftly, and takeovers were conducted in the scattered holdings by Perleone.

The civility of the conflict quickly dissolved, with accusations of reaver-like behaviours, theft, and even genocide were made.

Close of the War

In the end, Perleone had been pushed back significantly, with many regions having been taken over by Yssrgard with the aid of Caligus, though they remained in control of the City of Isadril. With so many food production regions having been siezed by Yssrgard, the kingdom of Perleone was essentially under siege. Diplomatic efforts organised by Earl Kenneth MacArbin saw the realms involved sign a peace treaty known as the Treaty of Isadril.
