Aeron looked out upon the familiar field, five times he had fought here with the Dawn Guard. Holding back horde after horde of undead and monsters but this was different. This horde was greater the those that had come before. Great were their numbers and even greater was their strength, Dirlen and Aeron shared a glance and the Prince gave his Captain a reassuring smile.

"We will hold them." Aeron said with certainty as he looked over his shoulder to Nalaya's Guards of the Wind. He wouldn't fail not when there was more then just the Dawn Guard at stake. Aeron's mind wandered to his nightmare just the night prior, a burning field and the monsters victoriously marching southwards, he wouldn't let that happen. He felt to his belt and his fingers brushed the book. The evil book which whispered incessantly in his mind.

Just one page would guarantee victory, just a drop of blood and a few words and he could save them all, Aeron looked ahead at the approaching horde of monsters. He had to do it, if he did then he would be able to defeat this foe and protect his friends, protect Corna. Dunnbrook was not even a day's march from here the monsters could swing into the region and hurt her.

He took the book from it's holder on his hip and flicked it open, he felt a wave of dread wash over him as he did, he flicked through the pages franticly trying to find the spell. He found it and took his dagger from its sheath. He slit his palm and closed his eyes, gritting his teeth in pain as he spoke in a language foreign to all around him.

He dropped the book after he finished and the Prince immediately fell to a knee with a scream of pain, he clutched at his head and shook violently as his tortured scream echoed throughout the battlefield. Dirlen pushed the soldiers aside and knelt beside his prince, placing a hand on his should only to recoil in pain as his hand burnt upon touching Aeron's shoulder plate.

Aeron's skin turned to a murky greyish color as his veins began to glow hot like fire moved through them. His eyes were tortured and his orange eyes blazed like hot coals, the white of his eyes faded until a near abyss like black surrounded the blazing orange of his eyes. Grabbing his sword caused the blade to glow like it had just come from the forge, he stood and was taller then before standing a full head taller then the other Dawn Guard. He took a step forward and roared with a fury that seemed to come from nowhere.

Aeron turned the terrified Dawn Guard and nodded, his face set in a mask of resolve. He marched forward and the Men of the Isle followed hesitantly. Aeron stood like a flaming giant before the monsters that had halted in their advance at the sight. But after a few feral snarls and roars the monsters charge in the Dawn Guard raised their shields as Aeron charge forward swinging his flaming blade and cutting a monster in two.

And the Battle for Kynazes began.
