A Rapid Rise, a Swift Fall
When Caspius was murdered by Arke, a call for volunteers was made in order to hunt down and apprehend the kinslayer. Isaac eagerly volunteered, finding himself on a ship to the Far East continent in a matter of days. When he landed on the coast of Cathay, much like his late cousin, he immediately sought out information that could aid him in his quest. However, he soon discovered the Far East to be a basket of hostility because of Caspius' everlasting legacy on the continent as an authoritarian zealot. It's as if they couldn't distinguish Isaac and Caspius as separate entities, even though their differences were plainly clear. This sidetracked Isaac dramatically, diverting his attention to his own image, rather than fulfilling his duties. In a week or two's time, he became High Treasurer of Cathay, thinking he had proved his identity with merit and valor. Unfortunately, he thought wrong. After five days on his post, he was forced to step down after a fallout with the king. Luckily, he was not charged with High Treason.
Without much of a choice, Isaac shifted his attention back to his hunt, traveling the lands of Sorraine in search for Arke. He eventually found her at a dock near Ozrat, but he was too late to stop her. She had boarded a ship and cast off minutes before his arrival, sailing off in the distance free of punishment. There was no way to track her, nor any excuse to be made to his house.
