Talerium, Cagilan Empire Invasion Thrown Back

A massive force consisting of troops from both Talerium and the Cagilan Empire was thrown back by stalwart Abington nobles, foiling this first new invasion by foreign powers seeking conquest and pillage.

Enemy forces totalled over 2,350 soldiers and 84 nobles. The defenders numbered 103 of Abington's finest and 2,769 troops.

Talerium's cause for war is clear; as an enemy of Abington, they are here to make war. But The Cagilan Empire, currently proclaiming itself "neutral" to Abington, makes the difficult-to-swallow claim that Abington is the "aggressor." Vengence also gave the standard charge that Abington traders were "attacking [CE's] food supply;" an accusation which, even if there was truth as far as black marketeering went, was answered and dealt with through judicial channels months ago.

However, Strider, the empire's Judge, recently and unilaterally broke a prisoner treaty. Echoing the line of evading responsibility for one's own actions, Strider blamed Gauihu for this. The Cagilan nobles now in prison, however, have no one to thank but Strider for their current lack of legal protections, and no one to thank but Vengence for them being there to begin with.

Enemy nobles reportedly behaved with a degree of restraint, neither looting nor issuing the usual taunts, and promised to return with a bigger army.
