Parve arrives at the large building.

Parve: I wish to speak to Count Charles. Is he in?

Servant: Certainly not. Please leave.

Parve: No, no, it's most important I speak with him. I have this...

Servant: I said leave!

Parve: ...ring and look how good it is and...

Servant: Let me see that.

The servant looks hard at the ring and seems impressed by its quality.

Servant: Steal it, did you?

Parve: Yes, as a matter of fact...

Servant: I knew it! Scoundrel!

Parve: ...from the lair of a monster I'd just killed. I imaginatively named it the Sacred Ring of Torrents Breath.

Servant: You... oh. Hmm.

Parve: I would be happy to sell it to the Count for 20 gold pieces and a letter of recommendation for the trouble I went to in getting it.

Parve shows a couple of nasty-looking wounds, which makes the servant take a step back.

Parve: So can I see him?

Servant: No. Still no.

Parve: Then please inform him that I am keen to sell him this ring, found in his region, and for him to reply to me quickly before I find another buyer.
