Information

When the world was in chaos and all hope seemed lost, the Highfather imbued his essence into the Seven Loyal Ancients, in the hope that they might be able to restore the world to the way the Highfather had intended before the Betrayers destroyed his perfect creation. Though each Ancient takes a different form, and searches for different types of people as followers, all share 2 primary goals:

1) The preservation and advancement of humanity.

-AND-

2) The destruction of evil, in whatever form it may take.

These are the two main criteria we use to evaluate other religions. If they profess teachings that are very close to these principles, they would probably be considered a "Variant". If their teachings are closer to the opposite of these criteria, they would probably be considered "Evil".

Here are listed The Valentic Order's views on other popular teachings in Beluaterra (last updated 1/29/07).

The Path of the Great Dragon

Variant

  • After speaking with their priests and studying their sacred scrolls, I have come to the conclusion that "The Great Dragon" they serve is actually a physical form taken by Rin, Ancient of Fire, to gain followers for himself. They are opposed to all forms of evil, and strive to do all they can to protect others from it as well. The followers of The Path should be treated as brothers & sisters. - Darrin

Qyrvaggism

Evil

  • Based on my studies of their manuscripts and my discussions & personal dealings with their priests, I believe "Qyrvagg" is an ancient name for Xed, spirit of Hate. I have brought the word of Komar to them, but they did not accept him. Soon, it will be time to bring the sword. - Darrin

Order of the Druids

Variant

  • I have yet to encounter any of their priests, but from my studies of their literature, I believe these Druids to be followers of Quil, Ancient of Trees. They are opposed to all forms of evil, acknowledge the Highfather (though not by name) and are devoted to the study of the Highfather's creation. The Druids should be treated as brothers & sisters. - Darrin

Hemaism

Evil

  • The official religion of the Theocracy of Sint. Not much is known of their teachings, but they are insistant on persecuting our followers, and harass/attack our priests whenever we enter their lands. We have agreed to leave them alone for the time being, for our own safety. - Darrin

The Church of Estahsism

Misguided

  • We had quite a heated conflict with them over some events in Mozul, which unfortunately erupted into physical conflict, despite my best efforts. However, Prins Simon, their leader, has sent me his condolences and promised to cease hostile actions against The Valentic Order. The teachings of this faith speak of advancing their culture & influence, but do not really take any sort of stance against the evil of the Betrayers. -Darrin

Omniovoism

Misguided

  • Their religion is based on the worship of "The Egg" as they call it. Their published texts make no references of the Ancients. They seem to be committed to slaying the undead that still walk the lands of Beluaterra, which means they are opposed to some kinds of evil and are somewhat interested in helping their fellow souls. - Darrin

The Old Gods

Variant

  • Their beliefs are very similar to our own. Of all the faiths on Beluaterra, this most closely resembles the goals & teachings of The Valentic Order. We consider this to be a sister faith. - Darrin

Hedonism

Evil

  • While not inherently evil, this religion is solely focused on gratifying carnal pleasures, whatever they may be, and shows no regard for the rest of mankind. I have been beaten many times by their followers, and have come to think they view us as "Evil" for some reason.- Darrin

Ragnarok

Ignore

  • Not enough information has been gathered to make a proper decision. - Darrin

Divine Order of Mentism

Variant

  • This religion is dedicated to a supreme being it's teachers call "The Creator" (who we recognize as the Highfather. Though they reject the existance of the Ancients, all other spects of their teachings are in line with our own. - Darrin

Yggdrasili

Ignore

  • Not enough information has been gathered to make a proper decision. - Darrin

Eretzism

Variant

  • They have a similar view of the hierarchy of Ancients, and acknowledge a "higher power" ruling them (The Highfather). I believe the avatar they call "Laceus" is the Ancient we call Rigan. They are opposed to evil of all kinds and seem to be interested in helping their fellow souls. - Darrin
