Duplicate of in-game help page?

Do we really need a page that is nothing more than a copy/paste of the in-game information provided on the Vulgarity screens? Perhaps something else is planned for this, but as it stands, this page is not needed. This information will be provided to a person either reporting vulgarity, or judging a reported message. A better idea would to provide information on what should be reported, how to report it, and the effects of reporting it. These help screens are subject to change, and will just end up being outdated as soon as that happens. --Indirik 01:16, 31 May 2007 (CEST)

IC or OOC???

I have been party to a couple of discussions on the staging of the Vulgarity process. Is it something that happens entirely in-game, so that the character receiving the 'offensive' message knows its content and can use that content in-game? Yes, at least one otherwise very experienced player actually believes that is how it is meant to be and uses the wording of this page to validate his claim. Today one 'vulgar' message was shared in-character and gratefully it had little diplomatic or military importance on "my" side of the world.

I have seen the argument that if the 'vulgar' message discloses strategically valuable information it is just fine to use that information for an advantage in-game, and that any character that submits a ruler's message for vulgarity review is guilty of treason, since an enemy character might be one of the random reviewers.

That has to be clarified, and the wiki would be the place to hash out an improved wording, possibly to be an influence on re-writing the dialogs in-game. --Recluse 06:30, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
