Initial comments

"My preciousss," Gias Kay muttered. "Precious!"

Recently a bug showed up talking about 'BMWorld6.PlayerItems' missing... seems like Tom is up to something... something quite nice and awesome. The bug was only in stable, which implies that '.PlayerItems' does exist in testing...
Sounds like this years christmas gift may very well be a tangible object for our characters to play with...--Eurtek 23:18, 12 December 2006 (CET)

You know, it's times like this that I wish I was an artist. There really ought to be a picture included with my new entry for the Cursed Crown of Nocaneb. --Pjweisberg 06:43, 17 December 2006 (CET)

Do you get a Fame point for that? -- Gsklee 10:44, 17 December 2006 (CET)
No, but my adventurer gets 1 prestige for having it. And the link to my unique item inventory says "use and manage the unique items you own," so presumably I'll be able to actually use it for something eventually. --Pjweisberg 19:00, 17 December 2006 (CET)

Repairs

Tom wrote in this article, "Only adventurers can repair them [(Unique Items)] by taking them to a sage." So, if any class can collect/find/acquire Unique Items (as Tom seems to be saying in Talk:New Item Ideas), can only Adventurers "maintain" these items? --Calvin November t/c on 19:14, 17 December 2006 (CET)

I seem to recall reading that hunting monsters and undead was the only way to find unique items. Other classes will eventually be able to own them, but only Adventurers will be able to find them initially. --Pjweisberg 20:42, 17 December 2006 (CET)
As far as I know normal characters can also gain items by stealing them from prisoners (only judges can do this, obviously) or in rare cases when the item holder is seriously wounded in battle and loses it and another character finds it. wraith0x29a 10:29, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

C++ GUI Programming Guide

I am searching for this unique item. If you find it first, we can deal.... :-) --Habap 18:57, 19 December 2006 (CET)

  • Hahaha... I don't think anyone will be finding that one for a couple of centuries. -- V2Blast 05:08, 3 January 2007 (CET)

I have just found an item on Far East Island that already exists on Beluaterra. What is the convention for making pages in this instance? - Tj 21:16, 15 June 2007 (CEST)

I don't think there really is one. If it really the exact same item, then I guess you could just add your description to the existing page. It will add tot he mystery of the item, that it apparently seemed to make it to the other side of the world, but no one knows how. --Indirik 21:50, 15 June 2007 (CEST)

Unique Items and Orphaned Pages

Might is be possible to put a link to Adventurer/Items/Unique on the main Unique Item's page, possibly replacing the Category: Unique Items link? We could then dump all of the orphaned pages of unique items on that page, resolving a good 100 orphaned links in one go. -- Baatarsaikhan 03:53, 8 November 2007 (CET)

Unique Items continet division

i found nearly noone write in what continent was found the item reported, is possible make a continetn subdivision in the Unique Item page? so is more easy found what item your pg can aim for. Vecchioratto

Condition

Once a unique item has been destroyed it cannot return in any way, shape, or form.

This is not correct. See: Scroll of Good and Evil. I had that in my possession until it decayed away to 0% and disappeared. An Advy later found it somewhere, and I saw it in a huge battle report being used by someone from Riombara. It *can* come back and be found again. It may not be considered the "exact same" item according to the game's internal database, but for all practical IG purposes, the item has been "rediscovered". IMO that's what makes these so interesting. They can develop their own long and involved history. --Indirik 15:14, 20 November 2008 (CET)

Trading Unique Items Between Your Own Characters

This does not seem to be possible? Unable to find any advys willing to repair a rapidly crumbling item with a lot of history and RP invested in it and getting desperate I dragged my advy halfway across the continent and had her rejoin her home realm only to find that I cannot trade the item with her however much she wants to help repay her debt to her cousin. I guess I could pass it via a third party but if this is a deliberate restriction I don't want to circumvent game mechanics and will just have to lose a cherished item. Anyone know for sure? -- wraith0x29a 10:02, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

That is correct. You cannot trade a unique from your own advy to your own noble character. This is to prevent various abuses of the advy and unique item mechanics. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 18:28, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Noble acquiring items while foraging

In addition to looting, it's also possible for nobles to acquire unique items by foraging after a battle. From the character Wilson Hendrix:
"Your men scrounge the battlefield for three hours, and manage to acquire some equipment to replace damaged items. Equipment damage drops 1 points to 68 %. One of your men finds something interesting among the rubble, a unique and legendary item, the Broken Mace (Weapon, +4 prestige)." -- Corwyn 18:41, 5 May 2011 (CEST)

Prestige Requirement to Upgrade

It seems you can upgrade your item at 6, 8, 11, 15, 20 etc prestige. Each time you upgrade your item, your next prestige requirement goes up by one. So your first upgrade needs +1 prestige from 5 thus 6. After getting your first upgrade, you need +2 prestige now thus 8 and so on.
