Some of the Discussion List threads related to Enhanced Diplomacy:

Shouldn't Expelled Diplomats be above Closed Borders, being an apparently harsher line to take? --The1exile 16:52, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Could be, I suppose. I imagine Calvin November put them on this list in the same order they are presented IG. I do not have an Ambassador character to check that. --Indirik 18:08, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
That is correct. I included them as they appear in-game. --Calvin November t/c on 15:41, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
The order in-game is alphabetical, it does not have any specific meaning. --Tom 19:19, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Travel Required?

After a Treaty has been proposed by an Ambassador, the Ruler (or, presumably, another Ambassador) has to sign the Treaty. If the Treaty involves another realm, such as a "Facilities Sharing" Treaty (not all Treaties require travel), the Ambassador (or, presumably, the Ruler) must travel to the other realm to officially propose the Treaty. At least that's what appears to be required. Can someone confirm or clarify this? --Calvin November t/c on 15:50, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, that's correct. It was, in fact, a major part of the point of the new system. --Anaris 15:52, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! /em starts traveling! --Calvin November t/c on 16:25, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Just FYI, my character did not have to travel to a partner realm's capital to propose a treaty. Traveling to any of their regions seems to do. --Calvin November t/c on 17:54, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Don't you have to be in the same region as the ruler, or at least an ambassador from the other realm? vonGenf 08:06, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't believe so, but I will attempt to verify this. As there's no means for Ambassadors to message one another in-game, it would be extremely laborious to arrange a meeting in a specific region at a specific time and seem counter to BattleMaster's current play-style. --Calvin November t/c on 16:43, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Eventually, diplomats and/or Ambassadors are supposed to be able to contact their fellows across realm-borders, but that hasn't been implemented yet.Shwartzring 17:17, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
The lack of this option - even during this partial implementation - has severely hamstrung the Enhanced Diplomacy aspect of BM. --Calvin November t/c on 19:00, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
No, you do not have to be in the same region. However, to propose a treaty to Realm X, you must be inside the borders of Realm X. --Anaris 17:26, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
