His Story

Aonar was found as a small boy by Emmitt after a Taselak raid on Dakan. His home had been destroyed and his family killed in the fighting, and he now had nowhere to go. Emmitt had pity on him, and decided to take him along as a page. After a few years of service, Emmitt offered him a regular position with him as one of his Scouts. Aonar, now a young man, was eager for war (as most young men are) and gladly accepted. Unfortunately it was to be the first and last mission they would go on together.

Emmitt and his scouting group were dispatched by the Ikalak High Council to Taselak lands for advanced scouting. Despite his warnings, they continued to keep the small group in the most heavily traveled region in Taselak, and eventually they were ambushed. They fought bravely, but eventually all were slain, except for Aonar. Emmitt had given him his journal, and sent him away during the heat of the battle, so others would know of the group's bravery and the foolishness of the Council's decision.

After many weeks of carefully sneaking his way past Taselak patrols, Aonar finally made it back to Ikalak city. There he met Emmitt II, Emmitt's son. He told him the story of his father's death, and gave him the journal. Emmitt II was glad to have news that his father had died honorably, and was furious with the High Council for his death. He asked Aonar to join his troop, and they promptly left Ikalak for a more sensible life in Sandalak.

Unfortunately for Aonar, this would be a short tenure as well. Soon after joining Sandalak, Emmitt II was captured after a gruesome battle in Abykal, and was subsequently executed a few days later on false grounds of treason. Aonar was livid with the ruling body of Ikalak for the deaths of his masters, and when their father Finegus arrived in Sandalak looking for revenge, Aonar promptly contacted him and pleged his life to Finegus' service. After months of hard work, the soldiers of Sandalak managed to conquor the island, and the hated Council of Ikalak was removed from power and scattered across the world. Finegus was bent on hunting them down, and Aonar promised to help his see his vengeance completed. The two began hunting Castamir when he joined Toren Stronghold, but were soon banned from the realm after a failed assassination attempt. With the situation in Sandalak quickly deteriorating, Finegus thought it best if they left and relieved the realm of an unecessary tax burden. The two left Sandalak and returned to the O'Shea homestead in Bolgar on Atamara
