Line 1: Line 1:
Very few things are known about the Gothicus family. From the tales of three of its surviving members, it would seem this family was born in a land covered in darkness, on a mysterious island.

__NOTOC__
Some time ago, a ship carrying a strange fellow dropped anchor in one of the bays of Fissoa Fields. The fellow’s name, as he said it, was Vald Gotu or Getu, but people turned it into Gothicus. What made this man stand apart from the others was his unusual height - he was at least 2 meters tall - his hair the shade of ripe wheat ears and his bright azure eyes. Yet, the first thing that everyone noticed, when they dared look at his face, was the horrible scar that marred his features and his steely gaze. The sailors on the ship recounted how they had found him nearly dead, on a small vessel, out at sea, with no food or water in sight. They had managed to bring him back to his senses, and health. In return he had helped them when they were attacked by pirates. That day, the stranger’s swordfighting skills had seriously turned the odds in their favor; without him they would have probably been looted or worse, they’d have been claimed by the sea as so many before them.

This Vald Gothicus made a home for himself in Fissou, and later a family, by marrying the daughter of a local nobleman. His wife borne him three sons.

==Earl Gothicus==

The oldest of the three, Earl, proved to be a restless spirit as he left home early, at barely 17, to become a knight. He managed to do so in Caergoth, on the island of Atamara, where he swore allegiance to Colin Langdon, Baron of Monagle. He was soon remarked for his bravery on the battlefield and chosen to be part of the most prestigious army of the realm: The Army of Courage and the Sword. There, the Marshal Barad Dur learned of his character and noticed his achievements and, for those, chose him for his second-in-command.

==Kniva Gothicus==

The second son, Kniva, left north and reached the Springdale Empire. He became a knight of (numele regiunii), faithfully serving Viscount Marco de Rye. There he was when trouble erupted in this one-time grand empire, trouble that eventually led to its fall. Faced with a difficult choice - to follow his emperor or his local lord - he decided to remain truest to his oath to Lord Marco, thus becoming a knight of the theocracy of Morek. In the meantime, because of his involvement in the safeguarding of his duchy, he was promoted to second-in-command of the Guardians of Sprindale and, later on, became Viscount of White Plains. His is a path fraught with honour and accomplishments.

==Cyprian Gothicus==

The third son, Cyprian, left far away to the East Island, where he swore his allegiance to the Count of Troyes. He soon was a part of the newly former realm of Westmoor and, with the disappearance of his lord, gained the title of Count himself, thus becoming one of the elite members of this young kingdom. As part of the Westmoor Tactical Force he engaged in battles against his nation’s most terrible enemy: Fontan. He quickly rose in the military hierarchy, becoming second-in-command and even marshal.
