I am fairly certain I got this point. I received it after selling 70 bushels of food I acquired on the black market to a starving region from another realm for a small profit (about 7g). I also made 2g on exotic goods. It was my first sale as a trader, I haven't been one for long. However, my other characters did absolutely nothing to warrant fame in that time, so I conclude it must have been the trader point. In light of this, I doubt this point has much to do with total profits or large quantities of goods. My guess is that it has something to do with bringing food to a starving region. --[[User:Geronus|Geronus]] 12:12, 6 April 2009 (EST)

I got fame after my first trade as a trader.  I sold 300 bushels to a hungry-but-not-starving city for quite a profit, and got 28 gold for exotic items.  It seems that exotic items are likely to come up when selling much food in a different realm than it came from. --[[User:Mercer|Mercer]] September 2010

And now another new fame point.  All I've done with my chars, none of whom hold any positions, is survey admin, travel, pay men, visit a temple, sit in prison and shout to other inmates, and change from knight to cavalier.  On the basis of that, and someone else suspected it (see shadow's guesses above), I reckon you must get fame for becoming a cavalier...

New account... and now I've got 5 fame points all in one day.  Particularly unhelpful for me to try to work out what they were for.  I have three characters (two warriors and one adventurer) who did the following:
 +
 +
Between Sunrise and Sunset:<br>
 +
Mardel - Took part on the winning side of an attacking battle to end a takeover attempt, though retreated from the battlefield in the process.  10507 vs 8763 CS.<br>
 +
Mardel - Gained 2 Honour and 2 Prestige from above battle<br>
 +
Mardel - Increased to 10 Prestige overall as result of above (1)<br>
 +
All Chars - Increased to 20 Prestige overall as result of above (1)<br>
 +
Despite these happening between sunrise and sunset, the fame points did not appear at sunset.  Fame was still at 0 after sunset where I was expecting it to be 2.
 +
 +
Between Sunset and Sunrise:<br>
 +
Parve - Bought adventurer gear taking from 31% to 33%<br>
 +
Parve - Wounded by an alpha monster for the second time in the same region in consecutive days<br>
 +
Orlen - Bought from 35-50, then from 50-52 (max possible for his honour) mixed infantry troops<br>
 +
Orlen - Won an election for a lordship (10 votes for, 0 abstentions, 9 not cast)<br>
 +
Orlen - Became Lord as result of above election (1)<br>
 +
Orlen - Added to a realm's message group<br>
 +
 +
So I was expecting to get three fame points for all that happening together, though oddly they all appeared at sunrise, not sunset, so I guess fame is only credited at sunrise each day.  One for 10 Prestige for Mardel.  One for 20 Prestige for them all put together.  And one for Orlen becoming a Lord.  But yet I got 5 fame points, so what were the other two for?
 +
 +
Could it be for participating in that big battle (the first really big battle he's been in, and certainly the first really big battle he's been in and helped win)?  Seems one of the most likely.<br>
 +
Could it be for the adventurer getting more adventurer gear?  Seems unlikely.<br>
 +
Could it be for the adventurer getting wounded by the monster?  Seems also unlikely.<br>
 +
Could it be for winning an election?  Such that winning a Lordship election gave two fame points, one for the lordship, and one for the election win?  Possible, perhaps.<br>
 +
Could it be for recruiting over 50 troops for the first time?  Possible, perhaps.<br>
 +
Somehow I need two fame points out of all that lot, and my bets are on winning the big battle, and getting the 50 troops, but who knows :-S

===Criteria of a "legendary" status===
 +
 +
When is a hero "legendary"? Well, my hero just died and I am sure to have received 3 fame points. This is already confirmed of course and nothing new. But what made my char so legendary? My best guess is that the status of legendary is related to honour and prestige, as they are most related to battle. Either way, here some information about Randolf Galvez:<br>
 +
 +
Age: 41<br>
 +
Honour: 155<br>
 +
Prestige: 33 <br>
 +
 +
Current Titles:<br>
 +
:Duke of Oroya<br>
 +
:Pasha (general) of Sultanate of Asena<br>
 +
 +
Previous Titles:<br>
 +
:Duke of Kazakh<br>
 +
:Grand Vezir (judge) of Sultanate of Asena<br>
 +
:Sultan (ruler) of Sultanate of Asena<br>
 +
:Baron of Pedrera<br>
 +
:Count of Salta<br>
 +
:Marshal of the Iron Wolves of Asena<br>
 +
 +
Maybe if we can compare some death legendary heroes we can find out what the criteria are for the legendary status.<br>

Background

It has been several years since the heyday of the original Lemon Fame, and since then many new fame points have come into being, ready to be discovered by a new set of eager players! In light of this, Tom has decided to launch a contest to help aid the discovery of the new fame points - with a prize of two weeks worth of free goodies for the winner! Here's Tom's declaration in full:

"We had an intriguing thing there with LemonFame. Too bad it's not been updated in years.

So... I'd like to write out a little contest.

First one to find out 5 or more fame points not yet on the wiki as of today (22/03/2006) will get two weeks of free goodies.

That'd bring the known total to 40, and still leave 8 mystery points." - Tom

Avenues of Investigation

Lately, Tom has been making the Battlemaster experience even more dynamic and pleasurable than it ever was at the time of the original LemonFame. Thus many new possibilities exist as to what could give fame. Here are a few possibilities from myself. Feel free to add more so more may be investigated by the community!

  • Five Bans or more on one Continent?
  • Leader of a Religion whose influence has spread across the entire continent?
  • Leader of a Guild whose influence has spread across the entire continent?
These are worth investigating. --Tom 15:12, 23 October 2006 (CEST)

Adventurer

  • Does the adventurer death in hunting undead/monsters count as the non-hero death? --Palidor, 27 January 2008

Timberos

  • Found one! Winning or just participating in a duel. Just gained one prestige.

- just done that, and no fame. Prestige, maybe... but this page is about fame, not prestige. Or does it have to be a duel till death? Mine was a duel till surrender. Psymann 23:04, 25 October 2007 (CEST)

Roy's Guesses

Okay, here's some of my guesses based upon my own account, which currently has 5 fame points which are still unknown.

  • 10 local lord appointments (Positions can be shared over different characters. Dukeships don't count towards this)
  • Council position held by same character in more than one realm. (ie Judge in Realm X, then Banker in Realm Y)
This is probably not allowed, so I don't think it would give fame. Fredrich 21:12, 11 August 2006 (CEST)
Why not allowed? --The1exile 21:40, 11 August 2006 (CEST)
I think Fredrich is confused perhaps. Basically what Roy meant was that you may get a fame point for having a single character who has held council positions in more than one realm. Like Sera has been Ruler in Giblot, and a general in Toren for instance (though I have not gotten any fame for doing that so perhaps we can rule this guess out?) - Revan 22:08, 11 August 2006 (CEST)
  • Character in a realm for over 365 days.
Aeryn has been in Abington for 365 days, no fame point was received on anniversary. - Arete July 3, 2007 12:15 (GMT -5)
  • Region commandership on at least 3 different islands.
I've held region commandership on 3 different islands for several months and never received a fame point. - Arete Oct 28, 2006 17:25 (GMT -5)
  • Having two characters in warring realms.
You mean warring against each other or what? - Revan April 4, 2006 22:17 (CEST)
  • Character still alive after 18 months
  • Having a character being a senior member in more than one guild. Maybe at senior level at least three guilds actually - that would make it more exclusive, and my character would still qualify for it.
  • Having played at least 5 characters. (this one's purely a guess, but you never know, Tom might appreciate character rotation, and the more members of your family there have been in the world, the more famous it would be...)
Nope, i have played 5 characters.--Twinblade 04:01, 17 June 2006 (CEST)
  • Combined age of characters over 100 years. (Again, another wild shot in the dark, but at least this one should be vaguely easy to prove/disprove)
  • I was wondering about age myself-perhaps if one of your characters reaches a certain age or perhaps even if its that you have a hero who reaches a certain age? Tsubaki

--Roy 23 March 2006 19:23 (CET)

These are mostly wide misses. --Tom 15:12, 23 October 2006 (CEST)
How about having the majority of a cetain number of regions converting to your religion? --J 16:35, 13 March 2007 (CET)
I don't think your characters will get fame for your religion's accomplishments.

Leading forces in Battle?

Just gained one fame unexpectedly. The best thing I can figure is that I lead forces in battle for the first time, and our side won:

Doyle, the Minister of Defense of Lasanar, Count of Hosiel, Marshal of the army of Ozrat takes command of the attacker forces. - Drake

This looks interesting. Can anyone else help investigate this claim? - Revan April 4, 2006 22:17 (CEST)
I may be able to confirm this in a few days...if we win... ~ Filador July 7, 2006
This is the only thing I can think of to explain one of mine. --Athins 06:44, 14 June 2008 (CEST)
  • I've marshaled a fair share of major battles and didn't get any fame for it.
Definitely not. I've marshaled a few battles now, including a huge battle of 23K vs 20K, and no fame increase. --Indirik 20:52, 23 August 2006 (CEST)
There is something here, you should check more carefully. Indirik: Remember that fame points are not granted retroactively, so you might have had your battle before those points were introduced. When it comes to fame, the argument "I did this and didn't get fame" doesn't always stand. --Tom 15:12, 23 October 2006 (CEST)
My marshalling of battles has all been pretty recent, within the last three months. Say, August and September 2006. I suppose my battles may not have been big enough. Or perhaps the point was added late September. Or perhaps even that the battles didn't meet some specific criteria, such as a city assault, smashing victory, or perhaps that we didn't use Marshal formations. So, yes, there is a lot of leeway in it. That's good to know. --Indirik 17:04, 23 October 2006 (CEST)
My character in Heen, Beluaterra is High Marshall, was Marshall of a couple of armies, and hasn't lost a battle yet. I have 3 unknown fame points. The only skill high enough i have is Bureau with a diff character, possibly another unknown is the 50 mentor points one, but i think there's definitely a Marshall one somehow. Perhaps having everyone in exact formation? --Crazylozda 18:03, 3 June 2007 (CEST)
I think the point comes from winning your first battle while using a marshal setting. --Athins 23:44, 19 June 2008 (CEST)
I've just got a Marshal for the first time and gained no fame so far. He's already had two victories in battle (both smallish ones against monsters/undead) one with no command setting and one with a defensive setting. No fame increase for this.
I got a Fame point yesterday, and the only thing I can think of is that one of my characters lead an army in smallish battle, and it was the first time I did that. That character is only second-in-command though. vonGenf 09:11, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
I just got a Fame point, and the only thing I did was lead an Army for the first time in a battle (9k CS vs 3k CS) as a Vice-Marshal. I used an Infantry Charge formation (and was an attacker). Given Tom's note, I think we should create a Fame box for this. -- Corwyn 01:55, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Shadows guesses

Im pretty sure you get a point for killing a Hero. I believe you can get up to three points for having a hero die in battle depending on how long the hero has been around and hon/prest. Perhaps it has something to do with heroes being of a legendary status? Having a hero survive for over a year - not to sure on this one, but it would account for the random points i picked when Tom updated the system. Will try to add more later :) Shadow - May 11th

  • Nope I've had a hero survive for over a year, and no fame point for me :(
I've recently picked up another point, that I have no idea what for, and it would roughly correspond to a year after I switched to Hero, can't think of any else they may of triggered the point. mcsporran 13:53, 12 May 2006 (CEST)
I believe when the first time a hero in your family gets killed you get one point and then three when a second gets killed. Can anyone confirm this?--Twinblade 04:01, 17 June 2006 (CEST)
No, Batman on Atamara was my first hero to Die and I jumped from 26 to 29 fame points.----Morgoth 04:31, 18 June 2006 (CEST)

Guild Members?

I just got a point of fame and the only thing that changed was the 10th person joined my guild --Torin 04:18, 18 May 2006 (CEST)

100th member? There was jsut a message confirming 100th member in an Atamaran guild, so maybe a fame for that? Shadow-Stalker_Family 16:25, 26th December (GMT)
There is no maybe here. Tell us who the Guild Founder is, along with his UserDetails page, and tomorrow we can degenerate this maybe into yes or no. -- Gsklee 18:49, 26 December 2006 (CET)
Problem, the guild had 100 members a while back and we only just got the message yesterday (which makes me think its definately a fame pointer now), and the founder is now gone. Any way to find out who it was in the first place?Shadow-Stalker_Family 20:09, 27th December (GMT)

Revan's Guesses

I in the last day or two got an extra fame point. The only notable things I have done in that time is win three consecutive battles in the same region in the Colonies, and converted a Region to 100% belief in Hedonism. Anyone else got a fame point from the same phenomena? - Revan 11:49, 29 May 2006 (CEST)

Council Fame Point

Just got a new fame point when I was elected as Banker. The only thing that makes sense about it in my family history is that this is the fifth separate time that I got ELECTED to a Council Position in a single realm. - Revan 11:37, 1 June 2006 (CEST)

If it's your first Banker position, then yes you'll get a fame point for it. --Neoro 17:05, 1 June 2006 (CEST)
I already have that fame point. This is the third time I've been elected as a banker - Revan 17:23, 1 June 2006 (CEST)

Sangue's comments and guesses

My Hero was a hero for only a few hours before he was killed in battle. I still earned 3 fame points from his death. He had 153 honor and 55 prestige.

I am pretty sure you gain a point of fame for being the noble who starts a successful colony TO. Sangue started the colony TO of Kalmar on EC. As soon as the TO was complete and the new realm formed, I had a new fame point. Sangue - June 9th

  • Most likely was the ruler 0 day.--Athins 19:16, 23 March 2008 (CET)

Looking at the newer guess. I would have to say most likely the honour limit is either family 300-350 or individual 150. It would make up for 1 or the two I don't have a clue about. Sangue - Nov 10th

Bounties

A character in Perdan had a bounty put on him by my character (also in Perdan), and he seemed to gain a fame point after it. Perhaps it a fame point comes from having a bounty put out on you, or perhaps an in-realm bounty put on you? --Kag 07:21, 8 July 2006 (CEST)

Serko had a 1000 gold bounty on his head for several months before it was collected. It could account for a missing point of fame. Loren

I had a bounty on myself from someone and I got 1 fame. Tyndareus_Family

A link between bounties and fame might be worth to investigate. Especially when you think about what bounties express. --Tom 15:12, 23 October 2006 (CEST)
A link? What do bounties represent? Someone's deep hatred of you and that an assassin is going to be showing up in your tent at night. Perhaps the fame is for being seriously wounded by an infiltrator? Fredrich 23:30, 28 October 2006 (CEST)
I would say that bounties express more in the realm of being famous/infamous enough as to warrant assassinations (e.g., heads of state, statesmen, leaders of activist movements, etc, to pick a few examples from the real world).--RubyDragon 02:35, 25 January 2007 (CET)

The bounty on my character just rose from 1,650 to 1,800 gold and I got a fame point at the same time. Could be coincidience? -- Uceek 06:41, 20 July 2007 (CEST)

Deportation

Deportation of a character may trigger a point of fame, or is a shared point with executions. Loren

  • I got deported, no added fame. -Chénier 03:07, 25 January 2007 (CET)

Steve's guesses

  • I'm almost positive you get 1 fame for leading a ~successful~ rebellion
My character Xerxes led a rebellion in the Sanctum of Casshern on the FEI in October 2006 and I don't seem to have gotten any fame for it. According to my family page, I had 19 fame before the rebellion and I still have 19 fame. The Sanctum of Casshern only had three regions though - perhaps one needs to rebel in a sufficiently large realm? - Mcglynn 23:05, 25 October 2006 (CEST)
I believe this was confirmed. Also, if you didn't get one, then there probably has to be a decent amount of loyalists for it to be worth the fame point. - Steve2609 22:58, 25 October 2006
Perhaps. There was precisely one loyalist: the ruler. I suppose a requirement for a certain number of loyalists might have been put in to prevent people from abusing the system and trying to get everyone in the realm a fame point for leading a rebellion. - Mcglynn 03:10, 27 October 2006 (CEST)
  • As a guess, I'd say 1 for 10,000 family gold
Several families have acquired 10,000 gold without gaining a fame point, but perhaps having that much gold for an extended period of time. The Fantom family just got a fame point, and I don't think they did anything except have 10,000 gold for several months. - Arete 12:25, 3 July 2007 (GMT-5)
  • Maybe 1 was added for a high amount of honor(200,250, 300)
  • Maybe 1 for 500 or more total family honor
  • 1 Fame for traders who travel to all of the cities on the continent, or trade in every capital.
  • Remaining exiled for a long period of time. (more than 4 weeks?)----(Exile is the new ruler option. I looked at it and thought it might be worth a fame point.)
I doubt this exile one, since exile is a newer feature than the new fame points. (Plus it's a ripoff of my online alias <grins>) --The1exile 21:09, 15 October 2006 (CEST)
I figured as much, but I thought I'd toss the idea out there anyway. -- Steve2609 15 Oct. 2006
  • I feel like this has to be one, and I feel stupid for not thinking about it sooner. 1 fame for founding a new realm
There are errors in the above numbers, but some of the items are correct. Check the numbers and you might find another 2-3 fame points. --Tom 15:12, 23 October 2006 (CEST)
I think its 200 family honour for a fame point. That would explain the one i received recently. (I have 203 honour if you include the 4 from my adventurer. 199 if not...so when i get onemore honour we could see if it changes then too)--Crazylozda 13:09, 4 June 2007 (CEST)
Maybe even 100 honour gets you one? http://battlemaster.org/UserDetails.php?ID=21696 See that player --Crazylozda 00:42, 4 December 2007 (CET)

zmobiebob's guesses

  • Executing 3 or more prisoners? (Or maybe that's Infamy)
  • Building a temple of a certain (large) size?

House Olik 06:05, 25 October 2006 (CEST)

Shadows guesses mk2

i said i would have another go at this at a later date so here it goes...

  • 1 point for having 70% skill in Swordsmanship/Jousting/Infiltrating (only 1, not 1 each)
I think I got a fame point for having one of my characters' skill points over 50%? --J 04:34, 17 December 2006 (CET)

- A further 2 points if you have had characters with 70% skill in all three

  • 1 point for slaying a hero in battle (i am almost certain about this, i have heard the same thing from so many people during the SEI wars...)

- on that note i believe to achieve "Legendary Status" your character must have lived as a hero for over a year and must have 50 honour/20 prestige in order to meet those requirements

See this section, it more or less proves that the 1 year as hero bit is wrong. --The1exile 22:44, 27 October 2006 (CEST)
I know from experience that the one year thing isn't true. My character Sargon died a legend (three fame points) and he had only been around for a little over 4 months. --Kag 04:43, 22 November 2006 (CET)
  • 1 Point for being elected for the same council position 3 times (a shot in the dark however there is evidence to support this)
  • 1 point for being the soul survivor on the battlefield in a massive battle (50000+ cs the combined strength of both armies)
  • 1 point for having a character over the age of 50 (shouldn't be to hard to confirm but might take some time :P)
  • 1 point Moving family house to a new location using the hero ability
Think this has been confirmed not to give fame. --The1exile 22:44, 27 October 2006 (CEST)
  • 1 point having a character in a realm for 500 days

(I got a fame when my first character became 500 days old (he was deported during the time though, so not in one realm). It was also the 500th day my account existed.) Nylen 12:03, 1 November 2006 (CET)

  • 1 point for still being a member of your realm until it was officially disbanded (total guess but possible)

thats all for now :) Shadow 27 Oct 2006

You have something with the skills there that is worth investigating further. --Tom 13:38, 1 November 2006 (CET)

Arete

I just got 2 fame points in one day, and none of the confirmed sources of fame happened. Several things did happen, however.

  • In realm/game for 125 days.
  • Held 3 region lordships simultaneously for 20 days.
  • Held region lordship for 50 days.
  • One of my skills (buro) reached 50%.
  • Recruited unit with over 500 CS.

Nope, done that lots of times and no fame for me--Mithrandir Family 10:16, 4 December 2006 (CET)

The following seem even less likely, but they also happened...

  • Got a new student. This new student brings my total number of current students to 5 (for the first time) and the total number of students both current and past to... something more than 5. I suppose either could be a possibility, but I doubt it.
  • I changed a class. From buro to soldier, which lowered the number of buros in the realm to an amount the realm can handle without penalty. Again, I doubt its worth a fame point, but it happened.
  • I announced my candidacy for council. I doubt messaging can get you fame, but perhaps if enough people switch their votes in a single turn or something.
  • My trader entered a region with monsters, alone (no unit, and no other TLs). This is the third time he has done that. I wouldn't give a fame point for it, but it does seem kinda daring for a trader.

Like I said, none of these seem very likely to me, but I thought I'd mention them just in case.

Efraz: Commagene Family

I have got 2 points of fame recently that I am sure I did not get them for the "known fame points" Only things I have done was... joining a tournament, training and showing off. And very recently my family honour was 250 in total... And It might be a specific time for me being in a command position... so my guesses:

  • Teshup has reached %50 sword skill and showed off in a tourney... I think this is worth a fame point.
  • Reaching 250 honor total.
  • Being in council for a specific amount of time... I will calculate this but it seems like 7 months for me: Maybe 200 days?
  • Being a count for a specific amount of time... 250 days in my example...

Shadow-Stalker Family

I recently got two fame points, but the only things I have done that might give fame are:

  • One character changed from a mentor to a hero (still had 1 student under her when she changed)
  • One character changed from Soldier to Cavalier
I've done that, don't remember any fame from that -- Neoro 06:04, 24 November 2006 (CET)
But I've just got a point that I can't explain, and about the only thing I have done recently is change to Cavalier from Knight. Psymann 23:54, 28 October 2007 (CET)
  • One character gave away 20% of her tax in oaths, both were accepted (maybe giving 10% of your tax, or maybe a certain amount from tax gives fame?)
I'm up to giving 20% away myself, no new fame there either -- Neoro 06:04, 24 November 2006 (CET)
  • One character returned from a tournament with over 600 people in it (although he lost in the first round of both events)
I had a character at that tournament too, no fame -- Neoro 06:04, 24 November 2006 (CET)
  • May have got beurocratic skill to a high level (need to check)

Tung's Guesses

So far, I only have 10 fame, but 3 are already unaccounted for. 7 of the fame are from prestige, Lordship, and founding a guild. I tried to find all of Tom's hints, and this is what I think so far. I got 1 fame point one night, and all that happen was

  • A Noble from another realm joined my guild, and I got a fame point.
There isn't one for this. -- Gsklee 06:43, 3 December 2006 (CET)

Another, I think belongs to

  • 50% Beurocaracy skill (my char had 60%)

Those are the only ones I'm pretty sure give fame points, since the guild only totaled up to 5 members.

Some of my guesses:

  • Seriously wounding/Killing 10 Nobles (Tom said there was a fame point that was a lot more likely to be found by Infiltrators than any other class and it wasn't honour, so heres a shot).
  • Having at least 3 different people place bounties on your head (if you have a bounty on your head, then everybody knows that you did something to offend somebody)
  • Leading the army as a marshal with a set formation and all units actually being in the formation (meaning your leadership skill is high enough to command all of the TL's)

I've done that and no fame for me, but it was a small monster hunt so who knows?--Mithrandir Family 10:16, 4 December 2006 (CET)

Maybe a certain number of TL's, such as 20, and coming out victorious. --Tung 7 December 2006
  • Having a Religion that spreads to 2 or more realms (same as my guild idea but maybe for religion too?)

Wild Shots:

  • 200 Family Honour or 225
  • Leading an out-numbered army by at least 5k CS and coming out victorious
  • Transporting 800 bushels of food for a whole week without being plundered, attack, etc.
  • Being banned in 5 realms (I took it off the top, but I'd really like to get it checked since it seems valid. You cause so much mischief that everybody knows you [i.e. a mass murderer gets recognition since he killed]
-Ask the Player of the Character Vatticus for this, he must be close to 5 bans. Continent Atamara (unless he's been deported!) --Grancourt Family 10:41, 31 December 2006
I think i have this fame point too. Charlotte (adv) was banned by lots of realms (probs over 10), and Laurie might even have received over 5 bans (some before deportation, some after returning - he's infil). This could be outcast fame? --Crazylozda 00:49, 4 December 2007 (CET)
I received my fifth ban yesterday on the East Continent with my Infiltrator (All bans are still active) and I suddenly have a Fame Point more today. My other characters didn't do much remarkable. One sat in his city holding Court. The other say in a region holding Court. The other sat in a Region managing a Guild he is a Elder of (Not Founder and I've been Elder before, so I doubt I got anything guild-related, as I should already have gotten it) Maybe this is the Fame Point that is usually collected by Infiltrators, but is also possible to earn as any other class? - Bart 10:27, 14 October 2008 (CEST)
  • Sponsoring an Army of 10 Nobles that lasts at least 4 weeks

Trader-Specific Fame

Any knight can buy a caravan and end a famine. If its trader specific, then it must involve one of a traders "unique" abilities: Black-market trading, chatting with merchants, carrying 3 or more caravans, and selling exotic goods. (Unsure if exotic goods is trader specific) Since the black-market is supposed to be secret and talking is not very famous, I suspect it to be buying/selling a large deal of cargo at once or making a certain ammount of money selling exotic goods. Fredrich 01:19, 6 December 2006 (CET)

I think the trader specific fame is selling 300 bushels for no profit to a realm. I did this just recently and I got my first fame point ever the same day. --Rojo 02:09, 6 December 2006 (CET)

In fact I am postitive since I meet none of the other requirements even remotely. --Rojo 02:11, 6 December 2006 (CET)

It may be close, but I don't think this exactly right. I've sold 400 bushels at a 40 gold loss per 100 before. In fact, I believe that every trade that I have made has been a loss on my part. Fredrich 02:22, 6 December 2006 (CET)

I recently got caught on the Black Market and landed myself in Prison, After waiting the week to get out of my own realms prision I was awarded a fame point. However, I am not sure if it may have had something to do with the rebellion that broke out on the SEI. Oh well here is my guess. --Tke.hijacker 14:21, 16 April 2007 (CEST)

Wish I had paid a little closer attention, but my trader just started carrying his 3-5 caravan, and I noticed a new fame point. His sales so far have been small, though with no profit. Can't see anything my other chars have done, so I think it is related to the trader action. --Jmadsen 07:20, 4 May 2008 (CEST)

--Geronus 12:12, 6 April 2009 (EST)

I got fame after my first trade as a trader. I sold 300 bushels to a hungry-but-not-starving city for quite a profit, and got 28 gold for exotic items. It seems that exotic items are likely to come up when selling much food in a different realm than it came from. --Mercer September 2010

I got this without exotic goods. I sold food to a starving region and got some message about "Locals rejoice at you ending the famine." When I click on my family page after that I was one fame point richer. --Athins 23:14, 27 September 2010 (CEST)

Guess from Gias Kay

I know this sounds stupid, but this is exactly the reason I post it to nowhere else. I am obsessed by the thought that there might be a Fame Point for sitting your butt in a friendly region tight 3 full days (you still need to do something within the region save travelling out). The locals get to know you and you become famous. Shouldn't be very hard to varify if someone with no mysterious Fame and a lot of time is willing to do it, duh. -- Gsklee 04:15, 6 December 2006 (CET)

What exactly do you mean by "friendly region"? --Grancourt Family 23:58, 05 January 2007 (GMT)

Pizarro's guess about killing heroes

Tom said that one of the fame points could be earned in battle, so perhaps it is for the noble who kills a hero in battle. After all, someone has to physically kill the hero. Maybe if a soldier kills a hero, his commanding troop leader gets a fame point for it? Pizarro 08:15, 7 December 2006 (CET)

No that can't be it, because he said it hasn't been gotten by any player, and too many of heroes have been killed already. --Tung December 07, 2006

So when you get killed in battle (as a hero), you get a point of fame, but if you get killed in a duel till death, your opponent gets a point of fame? There's a fame point for winning a duel till death, but shouldn't that be killing someone in a duel till death? My char has already won several duels till death but only managed to seriously wound his opponents, and I never got fame for it.

It is, indeed, killing someone. However, that leads to a possibility. Can iut be that the fame point is for killing someone, not just in a duel to death, but in general? --The1exile 19:45, 26 December 2006 (CET)
-Maybe this is where Tom hinted that the infiltrator point is possible to do with a normal Noble, but very hard? --Grancourt Family 16:07, 02 January 2007
Uh, no. Infils don't kill people. --The1exile 01:21, 6 January 2007 (CET)
Yes probably there's a fame point for killing someone, either as infiltrator or in a duel, and one for getting killed in battle as a hero. But is that fame point the same as the one you get for being executed? Perhaps just basically one point for killing someone (infil or duel) and one point for getting killed (hero or execution)...Van Peteghem 17:59, 2 January 2007 (CET)

Crazylozda's Guesses?

ARGH! I now have 4 more points since the last one - which i figured out was to do with family prestige at 50.

I published a book as a Mentor (but received 2 more fame points, not just one...) - and i have also received over 50 mentor points. Maybe this is another link towards a fame point? I think i have been rated 10/11 4 times, maybe 5. I have a total of 54, so it could be 11x4 and 10x1. SO perhaps another fame point could be for being rated as a GOOD Mentor?

I also got 2 fame points a while back, one of which i think was for my Bureau getting over 50% skill, but i have no idea what the other was. I'll be updating my fame box on my page later. Crazylozda 15:35, 30 March 2007 (CEST)

  • Received a Fame point last turn. All that happened last turn was that i got captured by RedSpan. This is my 4th time being captured (could actually be 5th, i'm not sure). I definitely was in no battles, no mentoring, no H/P increase, no titles gained - just captured trying to assault a noble. --Crazylozda 15:31, 25 September 2007 (CEST)

Filador's Guesses

  • A point for maxing out a skill - All I did in one turn was train/show off at a tournament, preach, and do Buearu work. Buearu skill is still at 40%, but the Preist character can no longer train at the acadmey (I get the message about the advanced tutor estimating at 80%, and the skill is beyond his capability to teach)
  • A point for a priest converting "X" number of people, or for converting "X" number of people in one preaching session. I doubt this one, but it's worth a guess.
  • A successful army being one with more than "X" number of troop leaders in it, or "X" total CS. Again, I doubt this is the defining factor of successful.
  • A point for a trader making a certain ammount of money from black-market trading, or getting away with a certain ammount of black market trades. I don't know anything about traders, though.
  • A point for getting banned from your first realm. I doubt it, but it could fit with one of my missing ones.

Unique Items

If anyone gains a Fame point for trading a unique item or issuing a recommendation after 2007.02.01, leave a message in here. It must be after this date, as prior to it the code was quite messy. -- Gsklee 22:14, 31 January 2007 (CET)

Three and a bit years later... got a famepoint shortly after issuing my first recommendation. About a month earlier I bought a unique item without issuing a recommendation and may have also got a famepoint then. --Iltaran 06:47, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
I believe I may also have received a fame point, my first, for having a unique item traded to one of my adventurers. I looked through the list of known points and none of them apply to my family. --Velax 12:27, 29 October 2010 (WAST)

Hunting Enemies

Not confirmed but i am willing to bet there is a fame point for hunting a certain amount of enemies...maybe 50 or 100???? no clue about the number but perhaps it is the one that no one has received yet??? Also for the infil only one...maybe stay a visit in many diff prisons.....well this is just a side note but i think the hunting has potential (and if it is not yet a fame point perhaps should be as people are ofter famous, or notorious, for hunting down enemies and killing them like the doges they are) (OOC Think 'The Patriot' Mel Gibson style here...

Chénier's Guesses

100 family honour= 1 fame. I just passed to 101 honour at the beginning of the day, and as such have gained 1 more fame. Which makes a total of an added 3 fame points in 24 hours... -Chénier 22:38, 4 February 2007 (CET)

I don't think this is it, unless it was added about a week ago. I've had over 100 family honor, and over 100 individual honor for several months, and only got a single unknown fame point on January 29th. --Indirik 03:19, 5 February 2007 (CET)
Well my guess is that it was one of the new ones that are "easier for non-fame hunters". 100 family honour is something everyone will get after a few months. -Chénier 03:29, 5 February 2007 (CET)
It must be due to something else, I've had 100 family honour for a couple months now, and recently over 100 individual honour and no unknown fame. --RubyDragon 09:50, 29 April 2007 (CEST)
Nah, i think 100 family honour is one, check the previous edits by me for the one witha link to a player! --Crazylozda 00:52, 4 December 2007 (CET)
It can't be one. I had over 100 family honor for a month with all my fame points accounted for.--Athins 19:36, 23 March 2008 (CET)

Phellan's Guesses

I picked up an unexplained Fame point after being the Marshal for an army during the entire length of a war. It would be difficult to attribute it to any one war though since we had 3 wars and 1 hatred declared for over 3 months real time, but I picked up the point the same day the ceasefire was offered (and accepted) to us by our hatred enemy. - 04:59, 12 May 2007 (CEST)

I also picked up a Fame point I couldn't account for at 225 combined family honour - Phellan 04:59, 12 May 2007 (CEST)

3 Points in Religion

3 points to the founder of a religion that has 150,000+ followers. --Filador

Wrong. -- Gsklee 14:34, 16 February 2007 (CET)

I got 3 fame point and at the time the religion was abt 75,000 followers not more. ~Gheros (16.Feb.07)

This is doubtful. Keep in mind that the TRUE total number of followers can only be revealed with a spread report; the number inside the "Order Location..." page ONLY shows the followers in those regions you have a temple in. -- Gsklee 14:34, 16 February 2007 (CET)
Yes, I am talking abt a spread report and by the looks of the spread report, the variable cannot be more that 20% spill over of the total. and usually the spillover is more surrounding the regions which are at 100% Gheros(26. Feb 2007 13:30 EET)

My guess is that either the number of cities or no. of cities over a threshold percentage (60-80%) because I think I got the fame after Wasteland, KI was 100% and not when Chaos Island was 100%. Gheros

And we had spread to 3 cities (Ibladesh City, Al Arab, Chaos Temple) or abt 20 regions (all of Ibladesh has 50%+ except the 2 cities and 100% of Kalmar Islands) and almost 2 complete realms (Kalamar Islands which was just a 2 region realm) Gheros(16.Feb.07)
Wrong. I just received my Religion fame today, and the largest presence I had in a city was 34% The only other cities we're in have a negligible number of followers - 9% and 3%. We've also had a presence there for a while now. There are a few significant events in the past few days: We surpassed 50,000 followers, moved into our 22nd region (out of 44), and 7th realm (out of 8). Given the previous high number of followers guessed by other faiths, I'm leaning towards the trigger being in 50% of the island, rather than a hard number of people. -- Murakama 06:45, 25 March 2007 (CEST)
I don't really think the half of island thing is true. I got my religious fame today and the only ting I know is he religion had over 25 people in it. The largest presence in a city was 56% and the amount of followers was 55,000 plus. We have hardly expanded outside Giblot however all the regions in Giblot are nearly full (except Drenga). I think is probably to do with the followers. -- Shenron 08:32, 29 April 2007
Do you still get the fame even if you deleted the founding character, should the faith grow big enough? -Dominic "Chénier" 20:20, 16 November 2010 (CET)

The1exile's comments

I seem to have got a fame point for stepping down from a duke position. I'm pretty sure it's that, though it could also be linked to my infil seriously wounding his fifth victim. --The1exile 01:58, 27 June 2007 (CEST)

I don't think something that might cost you Honour and Prestige will give you Fame. Sounds just too weird. -- Gsklee 05:41, 27 June 2007 (CEST)
Well, hm. I suppose I might have missed a fame point for buying a unique item? Black Scythe of Slaying --The1exile 12:23, 27 June 2007 (CEST)
I'm almost positive I did not get one for buying the Scroll of Good and Evil. --Indirik 17:36, 27 June 2007 (CEST)
I am certain that I did not get a fame point for buying my first unique item (with Herkan). I am not sure whether I ever wielded it in battle, but I think so. If yes, then this does not give you fame either. TanSerrai 12:03, 15 August 2007 (CEST)

I also got 1 new point of fame, and that could be linked to getting 300 family honour, if it's not a bug. --The1exile 14:27, 12 August 2007 (CEST)

I just got another fame point, and the only mildly notable things that have happened lately is I made my 10th migration, one of my dukes cities went over 90K population, I dumped half a 94 man unit as militia, and my chars combined would have had over 1K gold on hand in total (like 800 gold from taxes one day and the next day, different char, about 700) and I sent 200 gold home (raising my family wealth to 3602, but I'd had over 4K previously...). --The1exile 14:54, 10 November 2007 (CET)

I'm pretty sure this is a fame point: When I tried sending gold home, I got this message: Your family is more than rich already. There is no benefit in sending them more money. Why don't you put your wealth to some better use?
(OOC: Family wealth is capped at 10000 gold)

When I went back to my family page (after sending 125 home instead of 150), my fame had gone up from 27 to 28 (and my family gold was on 9977).

May I ask just who is confirming these? --Anaris 19:16, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

psymann's guesses

I got one unknown fame point. None of my chars have any positions of any kind, so it can't be do with them. One was at a tournament but it hadn't happened yet; another was just doing the same old bureaucracy as usual (and had already got fame point for 50% skill in it, I believe). Another was an adventurer, just collecting items and fighting monsters, though she did join a guild but I can't remember if this was at the same time or not. The last was just fighting battles, no different to others.

So all I can think of is either:

1) Adventurer pays gold to join a guild? (should be easy to check)

2) 100 honour total (again, can't remember whether it was that much at the time, but it's 113 now and it was a little while ago, so it's possible...

Bah, no, can't be that, just found someone with a fame of 3, with a char with 20 prestige and total honour >100. :-(

Could Possibly Explain one of mine. --Athins 06:55, 14 June 2008 (CEST)

New account... and now I've got 5 fame points all in one day. Particularly unhelpful for me to try to work out what they were for. I have three characters (two warriors and one adventurer) who did the following:

Between Sunrise and Sunset:
Mardel - Took part on the winning side of an attacking battle to end a takeover attempt, though retreated from the battlefield in the process. 10507 vs 8763 CS.
Mardel - Gained 2 Honour and 2 Prestige from above battle
Mardel - Increased to 10 Prestige overall as result of above (1)
All Chars - Increased to 20 Prestige overall as result of above (1)
Despite these happening between sunrise and sunset, the fame points did not appear at sunset. Fame was still at 0 after sunset where I was expecting it to be 2.

Between Sunset and Sunrise:
Parve - Bought adventurer gear taking from 31% to 33%
Parve - Wounded by an alpha monster for the second time in the same region in consecutive days
Orlen - Bought from 35-50, then from 50-52 (max possible for his honour) mixed infantry troops
Orlen - Won an election for a lordship (10 votes for, 0 abstentions, 9 not cast)
Orlen - Became Lord as result of above election (1)
Orlen - Added to a realm's message group

So I was expecting to get three fame points for all that happening together, though oddly they all appeared at sunrise, not sunset, so I guess fame is only credited at sunrise each day. One for 10 Prestige for Mardel. One for 20 Prestige for them all put together. And one for Orlen becoming a Lord. But yet I got 5 fame points, so what were the other two for?

Could it be for participating in that big battle (the first really big battle he's been in, and certainly the first really big battle he's been in and helped win)? Seems one of the most likely.
Could it be for the adventurer getting more adventurer gear? Seems unlikely.
Could it be for the adventurer getting wounded by the monster? Seems also unlikely.
Could it be for winning an election? Such that winning a Lordship election gave two fame points, one for the lordship, and one for the election win? Possible, perhaps.
Could it be for recruiting over 50 troops for the first time? Possible, perhaps.
Somehow I need two fame points out of all that lot, and my bets are on winning the big battle, and getting the 50 troops, but who knows :-S

Solo's guesses

I had an idea for the fame point for infiltrators. Perhaps if an infiltrator collects a certain number of bounties, say 5, then he gets a fame point. If a non-infiltrator collects the same number of bounties, then he would get the point, too, but it is very unlikely that he would get it.

A second thought about collecting bounties, is that there could be a required amount of gold to collect instead of a number, or possibly both, to make it very hard for a non-infiltrator to obtain.

Remaining Royal after stepping down

One of my characters was Prime Minister for a good long while, then stepped down (I was going on vacation). He got the message "Because you were ruler of the land for a considerable time, you will be recognized as being of royal blood in the future." I didn't even think about it at the time (and, as I was going on vacation, I didn't think to check my fame); however, it was brought back to my attention, and it seems likely that it is one of my unaccounted for fame points. --Anaris 21:56, 16 November 2007 (CET)

Sypherwolf's guess

I got a fame point last turn. Only thing I did was switch one of my characters to Hero. I now have a Cavalier, Knight, Hero, and Adventurer.-- Sypherwolf 06:27, 29 November 2007 (CET)

In that case, perhaps you get a fame point for having four different types of noble? I got a fame point (I thought) when I changed to cavalier but not when I changed to hero, and at the time of changing to Cavalier, that would have given me Cavalier, Knight, Bureaucrat and Adventurer whereas before I had two knights. Psymann 15:14, 13 December 2007 (CET)
Well, I believe it is for having one character of each type. That would explain one of my points. What do you think? Soares family 21:30, 30 November 2008

Jose's guess

I believe you get a Fame Point by publishing a Newspaper in the Wiki. Being a regular contributor in a newspaper would make you famous in a RP way.-- Dela Cruz Family 02:53, 11 December 2007 (CET)

100th day?

There is a fame point at your 100th day Rulership, known already. However, one of the last few days I got an extra fame point, without having done anything that might lead to it... Except, after counting it out, a few days ago it was the 100th day since one of my characters was appointed as General. Perhaps there is a fame point for every council position being held for 100 days or more. I have had a character being judge for more than 100 days before and one bein banker for more than 100 days and I do have some unknown fame points...Medium 01:28, 7 January 2008 (CET)

Might explain one of mine (Thrydwulf as General) --Crazylozda 19:50, 7 January 2008 (CET)
I would like to confirm this. My character just held the position of a Count for 100 days. Strange he even lost the postion on the 10th day for a few hours. Nothing else that could explain the 4 fame I got. --Smalcat 21:51, 9 June 2008 (CEST)
I don't think that being region Lord for a determined time gets you fame, from all that I heard of this discussion. However, I'd like to add a thought. During holidays in last november, I got a fame point. My characters were all standing in their regions, waiting for me to return, and I got it. Strangely enough, it was at the same time in which I made 500th day in BM and my char made 500 days in Falasan. Perhaps there is something to either of those options? - Ta|i 02:28, 8 January 2009 (CET)

Luegg's guess

I would like to propose the unknown fame point earned in battles. It seems logical that winning a battle when the opponent is much stronger should give some fame to the family of the marshal...Smalcat 14:40, 29 February 2008 (CET)

Marshal Point

I got a point around the turn my first marshal first took command of her army in battle. Possible point? --Athins 06:40, 14 June 2008 (CEST)

ELV's Guesses

I got a fame point when I was deported to colonies after being banned from the realm I first joined the continent in. Hope that's enough details to help you all. Fame Box said there wasn't enough info for Outcast fame and I'm pretty sure this is related. And it is something that can be applied retroactively. --Vita Family 12:33, 14 August 2008 (CEST)

Well Tom said it wasn't that. Only significant things I have about this time is stepping down from marshalship(no one else got it for stepping down), my family joining its 10th realm(seems like something that Tom wouldn't do because fame whores would abuse it and others have said that isn't it), and being deported by realm I joined EC on(Tom said it wasn't being deported by realm you were banned as a troopleader from). Someone previously noted that deportation alone doesn't do it. Anything else is even less remote than the already remote reasons listed above. --Vita Family 23:19, 14 August 2008 (CEST)

Fame Point?

I recently got a new fame point and I have no conceivable reason to have gained one. The following things occured:

1. 70 honor on one char

2. 125 honor for family

3. My banker was transporting food around his realm in Dwilight. Since nearly every region has been starving recently, and starvation ended about a day ago. idk, if this had something to do it. (Possibly the trader fame isn't necessarily trader specific? I might have ended starvation for no profit as I didn't actually sell food.

4. My Lord has been sitting in his region for a few days, without movement just doing police work.

5. Yes I already got both the banker and Lord points. You can check my page. Any ideas?Silverfire 01:33, 28 August 2008 (CEST)

Bedwyr's Guess

Everyone keeps talking about Marshals leading armies and the like which keeps getting shot down. I have a theory, though, which is that if your name shows up in a continent-wide report, that's a fame point. What I don't know is if there's multiple fame points in that. For instance, we've heard about execution fame, which shows up continent wide. Then we have things like characters who wield Unique Items occasionally showing up continent-wide, etc. Thoughts?

All council positions held by one character

I'm fairly certain that if one of your characters has had every council position at least once, you get a fame point for it. One of my characters had been Ruler, Judge and General, but not Banker before, and when he was appointed as Banker this morning, I got a fame point. Medium 02:04, 8 January 2009 (CET)

You got a fame point for being banker, but this may be an interesting avenue to pursue anyway. Can anyone add some comments to this? --Vita Family 01:27, 9 January 2009 (CET)
By the way I already had the Banker fame point before this occasion. Medium 03:05, 9 January 2009 (CET)

Strange, I lost the fame point again... Medium 23:39, 10 January 2009 (CET)

Criteria of a "legendary" status

When is a hero "legendary"? Well, my hero just died and I am sure to have received 3 fame points. This is already confirmed of course and nothing new. But what made my char so legendary? My best guess is that the status of legendary is related to honour and prestige, as they are most related to battle. Either way, here some information about Randolf Galvez:

Age: 41
Honour: 155
Prestige: 33

Current Titles:

Duke of Oroya
Pasha (general) of Sultanate of Asena

Previous Titles:

Duke of Kazakh
Grand Vezir (judge) of Sultanate of Asena
Sultan (ruler) of Sultanate of Asena
Baron of Pedrera
Count of Salta
Marshal of the Iron Wolves of Asena

Maybe if we can compare some death legendary heroes we can find out what the criteria are for the legendary status.
