Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Now groomed and dressed in his new suit, Marcus stood at the doorway greeting the minor nobles and merchants, most of their names he couldn’t remember and truly he didn’t care, his looked out across the crowd of the dozens of minor nobles and their families and merchants rich enough to be invited, Ghey were here out of formality, his eyes scanned for the other higher nobles, as he wanted to get to know his fellow nobles, to the common rabble that he has to endure, their endless attempts to gain his favour never ceased to give him a headache. A minor noble approach and threw his coat at a servant and demanded wine, as if he owned the place “Ah welcome Lord De’mante it’s a pleasure to see you again” the minor noble simply looked disgusted “yes, quite” his eyes quickly fell on a serving girl “excuse me sir” Marcus swore he heard the faint mumble of “damm bastard” as De’mante walked over to haress the serving girl. He simply sighed and entered his house, accepting a wine glass from a servant.

Taking a gentle pace towards the Grand Temple. Still not quite used to the outfit she had choosen. Having replaced her cloak and armor with a relatively simple purple ball gown, her obvious discomfort was quite a spectacle. However, as her mother once told her, "It is important to dress up for special occasions."

It didnt take long to reach the Grand Temple, situated centrally within the City of Rines, from the place she way staying. Her silver hair had been tied up in a plain purple ribbon to match her dress. The Grand Temple itself was a marvelous structure, one that she had only been in a few times during her stay in Rines. Approaching the entryway, she caught sight of a well dressed man standing greeting the arrivals. She could sense a similar unity as she watched him deal with the minor nobles. Once things died down a bit, she stepped forward and offered a simple bow.

"Greetings. I have arrived upon the invitation I received. I am Dame Mariana le Craint." She offered out a hand in greeting, awaiting the response. "You will have to excuse me, this is not my normal attire and I am not quite used to it."

As the noblewoman approached and offered her hand, Marcus's smile broaden me bowed to Lady le Craint "Good day my lady, I am glad that you arrived, do tell me how was your trip?"

Caught off guard slightly, she smiled.

"The trip was long however I am quite fond of the open ocean. The port city that was once my home provides a refreshing sight. I hope you have settled well into your estate."

She looked the man up and down, more closely than before. She could see his outfit was finely made. Just catching sight of another guest that arrived however she turned her attention back to the man greeting her.

"I do not believe we have had the pleasure to meet in person yet. I do not spend much time within our homelands so you will have to excuse my discourtesy. I am not used to the crowds of people. However, the opportunity to attend this event was much to good to turn down." Taking step forward, she stumbled slightly as the heel of her shoe fell into a crack in the stones below her feet, holding herself upright she continued to move forward trying not to make to much of a scene, "It seems even dry land takes issue with me sometimes." Attempting to laugh this off she continued into the entryway, taking a glass from the attendant before turning back to the man.

"Should you have time during the event, I would love to hear about your origins. I have always been fascinated by people's history."

Marcus's smile falter a mere second so much that those near by might not of noticed but the dame most certainly did, "But of course my dame, enjoy you evening I will let everyone know when the dancing shall begin" with that he hurriedly left the entryway and into the garden he paused as he reached a small pond at the centre was a statue of a young woman, Marcus sat down and drained his wine glass before looking into the eyes of the statue "Dear sister, in your memory" with that Marcus sipped the last bit of his wine before standing and straightening his suit and marching back to the entryway.

Roleplay from Gigax Pilesar
Gigax slowly made his way through Rines on his humble cart, powered by a lone donkey. Four small casks in the back of the cart, labeled Gigax Private Reserve, made a sloshing around as the cart rolled over to cobble stones. The best part about living at Vineyard, of course, is the wine. As he pulled up to the location listed on the invitation, Gigax wondered if this party too would have a pig.

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
Arriving ahead of his retinue part two of his guard, Ferdinand's return to the capital was somewhat lackluster. The series of events that had occured in the previous week saw him get kicked out of his own estate in Rines while at the same time saw the honour of him becoming the Steward of what will become the City of the Templar.

Nevertheless, Ferdinand felt that it was important to attend the events of the nobility where he can, especially of those that arrived recently. He was eager to see what the man known as Sir Marcus was made of, especially as a budding Templar.

Arriving at the destination, Ferdinand dismounted his horse and left for the event with the two Silver Arrows finishing off securing the horse to a suitable stable before bringing up the rear.

As he arrived, he glimpsed a woman in a purple dress and hair tie, a noble came to mind but could not be sure. Making a mental note to find the woman, Ferdinand entered the room where he was greeted by the doorman. Thankfully, the man was educated in the nobility of this realm and bowed in respect. Entering the room, Ferdinand passed the timid servant whom handed out the wine glasses to the sound of the doorman announcing his arrival:

"Announcing the arrival of Ferdinand of House Greybrook, Steward of the City of Grehk, Marshal of the Lightbringers and Grey Knight of the Templar Order and Obeah!"

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
As Marcus was walking back to the entryway he heard a name called, "Ferdinand of House Greybrook, Steward of the City of Grehk, Marshal of the Lightbringers and Grey Knight of the Templar Order and Obeah!", Marcus once again smiled broadly as we approached the new guest "Lord Greybrook, it is a pleasure to have you here, do tell me how was your trip to Rines?"

Looking towards the man that greeted him, Ferdinand assumed that the nobleman with his well kept beard and his shaggy looking hair was Sir Marcus. Shaking the man's hand, Ferdinand commented:

"Sir Marcus, it is good to meet you. I rode ahead of my unit to ensure that I attended your event, it is important that nobles of Obeah also meet outside of military camps."

Gesturing for the nobleman to walk with him to the next room, Ferdinand asked:

"Sir Marcus, inform me about yourself. While you have told me your intentions over letter, one's conviction is different in person."

As he awaited for Sir Marcus to reply to him, he glanced around the room to see if other nobles of the realm had arrived, especially the woman that he thought he saw before.

Marcus stopped smiling as he looked at Lord Greybrook "There is not much to tell, I am the eldest son of the Daubeny family, they live in a land far away, I left that land and traveled here, I have spent the past 3 years living in Rines, one day I got my knighthood from saving a nobleman's daughter from a small group of orcs in one of the forests in Cjelegy, Shortly after that I sent out invitations to the realm to attend this party, to celebrate me joining the ranks of nobility and to celebrate the victory down in Grehk, congratulations on becoming its Steward by the way" Marcus sighed, "I hope that is enough of a explanation, in truth its not a very lighthearted topic of mine, we might be able to speak a bit more later on it later but for know" Marcus smiled again and motioned taround the room "Its party is it not, so go enjoy yourself my lord less my brooding ruin the atmosphere" with a chuckle Marcus set off around the room. Anyone who paid attention to Marcus would notice him collect a glass and a bottle of wine from a servant before exiting out of the main party room into the next room.

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Marcus walked through the inner garden admiring the flowers he soon found his elf at his table, he sat and began draining his wine glass over and over, till he got tiresd of refilling it and simply drunk from the bottle, why was he so upset, Marcus couldn't put his finger on it till he glanced at the statue in the middle of the garden, it was a knight standing proud a sun emblazoned into his back, Marcus scowled at the statue, Marcus put down the half empty wine bottle and silently sobbed for a few minutes, He knew this feeling, remorse, it was a feeling he felt when ever he though of his family, the family he left, for what. Marcus shook his head and wiped his tears before laughing heartily "This is a party, enjoy yourself" Marcus told himself and with a smile once again on his face he entered the room and once again started doing laps of the rooms speaking to all his guests.

Roleplay from Mariana le Craint
Mariana took her time. Enjoying herself as she watched the different people intermingling with each other. Sipping on her drink, she was enjoying the peace she had been given by intimidated nobles. That was until she caught sight of a familiar face, one she had not seen for a long time. She gulped down the rest of her drink, handing the glass to a nearby attendant and strode confidently over. A sly smirk stretched across her face the closer she got.

"Well, if it isnt Sir Ferdinand Greybrook. Or rather, is it Steward Ferdinand Greybrook? I see you have changed a lot since our last meeting." She bowed sarcastically towards the figure, offering out her hand to him, "I haven't seen you in... well it must be many seasons now. Not being on the front lines means I do not get to see those rugged looks of yours as you fight."

After saying this, she gently brushed her hand against he cheek. Smirking as she did so.

"Well come, let us enjoy ourselves, this is a party after all. Lets get you a drink, it sure looks like you need one." She called over to an attendant who promptly brought over two glasses of wine.

"So tell me, what has the young Templar been up to since out last meeting? The unruly wastes have been ever so lonely, I take great enjoyment from your few letters." She said this in a very sarcastic tone as to tease the young man. Smirking once again as she took a sip from her glass.

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
Looking at the glasses of wine on the tray next to him, Ferdinand hesitated, then quickly drank from the nearest one so that there was a mouthful remaining. It had been a long time since he had a drink... Losing himself in thought, from another direction, he saw Sir Marcus reappear in the center of the room. Declaring the beginning of the main event, he could not help but notice the man's disposition - which was noted to bring up later in the night.

When he finished his short speech, Sir Marcus passed by Ferdinand and stated:

"Sorry for me running off, it was rude of me to leave like that, at dinner I would be more than willing to tell you about myself in more detail if you still want to know more about - are you coming?"

Seeing the man walk off, obviously to ensure the smooth transition of proceedings, Ferdinand walked with the crowd.

Until he saw her.

Ferdinand knew instantly that he had been played - she had been watching him and he was none the wiser. She had not changed since the Violet Storm had taken over Rines, part from the fact that she had dramatically changed her hairstyle. The silver hair that was instinctive of her character was now tied up with a luxurious purple ribbon to match the dress. While the difference between her usual attire and this one was stark, this was arguably more dangerous.

Confidently striding over, the Inquisitor begun her spar:

"Well, if it isn't Sir Ferdinand Greybrook.

Just as Ferdinand was to reply, Mariana le Craint closed the distance between the two nobles and gently brushed her hand against his cheek smirking while she did so.

Ferdinand replied with each word and sentence laced with subtleties and venom:

"Dame Mariana le Craint, perhaps steward Mariana le Craint would also be more appropriate. However, we both know that there are more appropriate titles for you..."

Bringing his head forward to whisper into the Dame's ear to say only one word:

"Inquisitor."

Taking a step back once again, Ferdinand continued what was to be the start of a swirling battle of whit and maneuvering:

"I have to declare that despite your awful discomfort in such attire, you do provide a sense of grandeur beauty."

Through this flowing movement, Ferdinand took a courteous bow and kissed the noblewoman's hand. Taking heed of the movement towards the next room, Mariana gestured Ferdinand to follow her in:

"Well come, let us enjoy ourselves, this is a party after all. Lets get you a drink, it sure looks like you need one." She called over to an attendant who promptly brought over two glasses of wine. "So tell me, what has the young Templar been up to since out last meeting? The unruly wastes have been ever so lonely, I take great enjoyment from your few letters." She said this in a very sarcastic tone as to tease the young man. Smirking once again as she took a sip from her glass. Taking the offer of a glass of wine, both of the nobles moved into the next room where Sir Marcus had begun preparations for the activities. Taking into account what was just said to him, Ferdinand quickly replied, rising to the tease:

"I think you forget that I am many years your superior Dame le Craint. I was unaware of my ability to project youth. Alas, while you have been dealing with villains, heretics or whatever you secretly get up to in the wastes, the Lightbringers have taken great strides into returning the authority of Obeah to Grehk and Irombro - a far more honourable task."

Taking a sip from his glass, Ferdinand turned to the woman next to him. At least 8 inches shorter than himself, the Inquisitor kept him on edge, more so that he would ever let her know:

"What brings you to the Holy City once again? Did you have to return to your underlings or did you know that I was to be here?"

Ferdinand was never this brave or daring to antagonise Mariana. His composure slightly broke with a smirk creeping onto his face. The company of a unpredictable, yet loyal noble of Obeah outside of the Lightbringers, was a welcome change from being surrounded by soldiers for so long. But why Mariana?

Marcus stood in the centre of the room and loudly said "May I have your attention please" his voice echoed throughout the room "Could you all please follow me to the ball room, its time for the festivities to truly begin", slowly all the nobles began to funnel out into the hallway following a servant that was guiding them to the ball room, Marcus walked over to Ferdinand "Sorry for me running off, it was rude of me to leave like that, at dinner I would be more than willing to tell you about myself in more detail if you still want to know more about" Marcus started walking towards the ballroom "Are you coming?" Marcus called back over his shoulder.

"So you say but let us not forget that without my... aid... you would be in a rather difficult situation." This comment made Mariana chuckle. Leading Ferdinand into the next room, she linked arms resting her hand upon his as they entered into the main ball room.

"What brings you to the Holy City once again? Did you have to return to your underlings or did you know that I was to be here?"

She smirked at this comment, "Of course, it was all to see you. I had no doubt that a pompous Templar such as yourself would attend such an event."

With the glass of wine in one hand and Ferdinand in another, they continued into the ball room. Mariana took her time to look around the at the attendees of the event. Mostly minor nobles, a perfect situation for her. Walking over to a nearby table, she placed the half empty glass of wine down and ushered Ferdinand towards the main ballroom floor where others had began to dance.

"How about a dance? Would the 'wise and noble' Templar be willing to accept the invitation of an inquisitor? My work ensures I must be agile on my feet, dancing is good practice wouldn't you say?" She smiled, leading him to the dance floor. She could overhear the murmuring of the other guests, many sneering in jealousy. However, this mattered not to her.

Once they reached the centre of the dance floor, she offered out her hand once again politely bowing as to mock Ferdinand. She awaited his response.

Roleplay from Mercy Attano
Mercy approached the manor house actors from the Grand Temple. It was unusual being so close to an Obian place of worship.

She wore a cream silk dress, sections such as her arms and chest were woven in black-work.

Her steps quickened, she was late and the air had the scent of rain.

Mercy was greeted by the doorman. He recognised her. His bow was hesitant.

“Dame Mercy.. Attano of Avengmil.” He announced as she entered the manor.

Marcus heard his doorman's call and hastily ran to greet the arriving noble, as he entered the main room, he saw a woman in silk cream dress rushing into the room just as it began to rain, Marcus bowed to Dame a broad smile on his face "Dame Attano welcome to the party it is a pleasure to meet you, I am sir Marcus Daubeny, if you would please follow me the other guests are gathering in the ball room"

Mercy was approached by a man shortly after being announced. She figured him Lord of the Manor. She shot the doorman a withering look before snapping her attention back to the approaching man.

He introduced himself and her prediction was correct. This was indeed Marcus Daubeny. She answered the bow with a quick curtesy.

“Sir Daubeny, it is a pleasure to be here. Am I that late?”

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
Ferdinand knew that Mariana was always hold her aid over him. Nevertheless, he also took her loyalty seriously:

"Inquisitor, it is through your efforts that the Marshal's Grant has supported the Lightbringer's refit and gold shortage on many occasions. That, Obeah will be thankful for."

Brushing off the comment of pompous, Ferdinand followed the Inquisitor to the dance-floor:

"I accept your invitation for a dance Inquisitor. However, bare in mind that while a Templar in armour perhaps is not as nimble and slippery as you, we will always lead from the first instance."

As soon as Ferdinand took Mariana's hand, the ensemble of music began to move onto it's next piece. As he foreshadowed, Ferdinand took the lead with the dance. However, it was apparent that despite this charade both nobles were displaying, neither were completely comfortable nor excellent dancers. At least they looked the part.

Rising and falling with the music, Ferdinand continued their conversation:

"Steward tell me, will you disappear once again into the wastes? Or will it be another set of seasons before your grace me with your presence? I shall only be here for tomorrow, for I shall have to head south once again." Swiftly following on from the sentence, he spun Mariana around in a piroquette and returned to their accustomed routine, awaiting her reply.

Roleplay from Mariana le Craint
Mariana smirked as Ferdinand brushed off her comment, trying to high her satisfaction. However, before she could continue the music began. She was caught off guard by Ferdinand. The both of them showed signs of inexperience when it came to dancing, however she did not expect such forwardness from him.

As the music continued and the two of them swayed with the music, many onlookers joined the dance with them. Mariana trying with all her might to keep her self balanced on her heeled shoes.

"My duty takes me oversees, that much is true." She tightly gripped his hand as she was spun around, "However, it is also necessary that I give myself some rest. Maybe I can be convinced to remain here for another day, should a rather forward Templar be willing to escort me for the day?"

This caused her to smirk however this turned into sincere smile. Something she wished not to show Ferdinand. As a way of hiding it, she rested her head on his broad chest. Hiding her embarrassment.

"Part of my duty creates such an erratic schedule. However it is the best way that I can serve Obeah." Looking back up at Ferdinand, "However I am never gone forever, maybe one day I shall turn up at the camp to surprise you?" She said this in a similarly sarcastic voice as to move the conversation forward.

"Maybe one day I shall 'employ' your services to guide me around Grehk, I haven't been there since its liberation. Whats the city like?"
Mariana le Craint

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
This initially took Ferdinand back and raised alarms in the Marshal's head. Old questions that once quizzed his mind when he first met the Inquisitor during the Violet Storm came back. Who really is "Mariana le Craint" and what is her agenda? Despite the bridges between Templar and Inquisitor have been strengthened, his rank as Grey Knight was testimony of this, there were many suspicions of both guilds/ institutions from both sides.

While Ferdinand was in thought, Mariana had rested her head against his chest as they continued their dance and train of thought:

"Part of my duty creates such an erratic schedule. However it is the best way that I can serve Obeah." Looking back up at Ferdinand, "However I am never gone forever, maybe one day I shall turn up at the camp to surprise you?" She said this in a similarly sarcastic voice as to move the conversation forward.

Part of Ferdinand wanted to effortlessly continue this conversation, maybe the wine was talking. The feeling of Mariana holding onto him was something which he had not experienced in this land or for some years.

Out of the shadows of his mind, suppressed memories attempted to re-surge and bubble out onto the surface. However, while obviously pained by the memory, Ferdinand locked the emotion away and continued the conversation, trained to deal with this situation many times before, perhaps not as well as he expected:

"If you are satisfied observing the recruitment of some new additions of my Special Forces at the break of dawn tomorrow or their training and prayer at camp, you are welcome. Perhaps your keen eye may find something that I do not see. The defense of Grehk needs to be seen to and the Templar order needs the best. However, this invitation does not mean you slither throughout the camp as you please."

Bringing back the conversation on military affairs eased Ferdinand's shoulders, which grew tense over the course of the encounter.

"Maybe one day I shall 'employ' your services to guide me around Grehk, I haven't been there since its liberation. Whats the city like?"

"Inquisitor, the City of Grehk is a grand city of old. Ruins litter it's landscape as a veteran of a thousand battles and ages gone. The Palisade has recently been erected in the grounds. The walls are in urgent need of repair while the peasantry, while loyal to Obeah, hate our presence there. They have been so misguided by living in lawless conditions they resist change. However, let me state this to you, when the population realise the error of their ways, the city shall become the City of the Templar. As the city's steward, it would be my duty to show you around the city. Be warned, it is currently not a stroll through the moonlight streets of Rines."

While losing himself in the mission of the Templar Order and Obeah, the music changed to another number and looked to the Inquisitor who lent her face against his chest plate.

"Respecting the skills of an inquisitor? Now thats a change of heart. I would gladly join you on this and put my 'inquisitors eyes' to go use. I shall ensure that I am within sight at all time" She said this rather jokingly, "I shall not slither away, that would defeat the purpose of my request."

She returned to resting her head on his chest, swaying with the music. Her eyes still moving around the room, observing the guests. The jeering looks of jealousy only increased as the dance continued. However, Mariana enjoyed this moment. There are very few occasions that she is able to enjoy a party like this, let alone be able to dance.

"Inquisitor, the City of Grehk is a grand city of old. Ruins litter it's landscape as a veteran of a thousand battles and ages gone. The Palisade has recently been erected in the grounds. Listening to Ferdinand go on about the city of Grehk was rather calming on her nerves. As she rested her head on his chest, she could feel a sense of comfort. Before she could drift off, she snapped back to the current situation. The change of the music to something slightly more upbeat caused Mariana to focus on her movements once again.

Marcus danced past all the other nobles to reach the middle, He quickly came to stand by Ferdinand and smiled "Just the people, I was looking for, might I be able to borrow you two for a few moments" He nodded to the stairs on the side of the room to the upper level of the ballroom.

Their dance was interrupted by the arrival of the host. Mariana separated from Ferdinand and turned to Marcus.

"A private audience with the host, well aren't we lucky." She spoke in a soft tone and gently jabbed at Ferdinand side before addressing the request, "I would be happy to join you, and I am sure Sir Ferdinand too would be happy to accompany us."

Mercy turned to her host as they made their way to the ballroom.

“Unfortunately, dancing was one of the skills my father did not employ a tutor for. As such, I am woefully unskilled.” She stated.

Sir Marcus departed, leaving Mercy alone. She found a table hugging the wall and stride over to it. As she passed, lesser nobility gave her a wide berth. She sat at the table and an ill-informed servant approached, offering a glass of wine. She accepted and motioned her away.

In the centre of the ballroom, she spied the young knight approach two nobles dancing. One in a purple dress and the other in Templar armour.

Marcus nodded and began walking towards the stairs “Excellent, come on” Marcus waved for them to follow. He reached the stone stairs and began climbed them before stopping, looking like he forgot something he waved a servant over and point to Dame Attano, he whispered in the servants ear then continued to climb the stairs til he reached the upper level of the ballroom, which was absent of any other nobles.

He looked back down the stairs waiting for the duo to join him.

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
Jheda finally arrived at the festivities. Late, as usual. The young Knight did not fully live in the reality others perceived. Time, appointments, punctuality, it meant nothing to him. If he wasn't on the battlefield, he could either be found with his head buried in ancient manuscripts or spending his time with prayer and meditation. He was a dreamer, and thus missed a lot of what was going on around him.

On the way from Grehk to Rines, he studied some old documents about religions of the past. He was trying to find out if some of the deities mentioned in the texts where actually referencing the Veiled Goddess. It was possible Obeah was known under an other name long ago, and if She was, perhaps these texts contained information lost over time. He was so lost in his own head that when the driver of his carriage announced they had arrived, he wandered inside still in his travel clothes, only recognisable by the Farseer's coat of arms on his shoulder.

Once inside, he came to his senses because of the loud yet pleasant buzz coming from the dancefloor. He wondered why he came here, leaving his men in Grehk to assist the Grand Templar. Unknown to Jheda, it was thirst which lured him here. He did not desire wine or beer, no, the thirst originated somewhere deeper, in the groin area. His lifestyle made him live a life of celibacy. When his body realised the mind would not cooperate to fulfill these fleshly desires, it took over. His subconsciousness carefully planned this adventure, without Jheda ever knowing what was going on. His uneasy behaviour was a fine example of that.

He eventually spotted a table filled with numerous kinds of drinks. He decided to get wasted and mingle with the people on the dancefloor. He did have some moves after all. On his way over, he noticed some higher nobility leaving the scene towards a room upstair. That meant no obligations to talk to them, which was just fine. He also saw some interestingly looking courtesanes, and threw a smile their way. Why he did so, and why they looked interesting, he did not realise. On the inside, his hormones were preparing to have the day of their lives.

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
Ferdinand instantly snapped back into reality. Realising what he had been doing, Ferdinand's face became stern as if on the battlefield. This nobleman had managed to catch the wrong side of the Grey Knight. Just as he was about to begin a rather serious discussion with his host, the Steward of Ardmore intervened:

"A private audience with the host, well aren't we lucky." Mariana spoke in a soft tone and gently jabbed at Ferdinand side before addressing the request, "I would be happy to join you, and I am sure Sir Ferdinand too would be happy to accompany us.”

Marcus nodded and the two began walking towards the stairs, with Mariana walking slightly ahead, looking back expectantly with a cheeky grin. Still riled up by the intervention of Sir Marcus, Ferdinand took slow, purposeful steps towards the stone stair well. Sir Marcus had already reached the stone stairs and began climbed them. The energy the man was displaying was quite impressive considering the company that he was keeping. However, before completely ascending the stone steps, he turned around as if he was looking like he forgot something. After a brief conversation with his servant to address the issue, Marcus pointed towards a figure in the crowd and then proceeded to rocket up the stairs, expecting to be followed.

Following the direction of which Sir Marcus pointed, it appeared that the target of his conversation was Dame Mercy Attano. Wearing a cream silk dress, sections such as her arms and chest were woven in black-work, complementing her dark hair. While used to seeing the Dame in armour, he was her Marshal as part of the Lightbringers. Therefore, duty bound to greet the newcomer with a curtsy:

"Dame Mercy, I was unaware of your invitation tonight. However, your attendance is welcome. Your dress compliments your hair rather well. Perhaps I should of not worn my armour in the good spirit of this evening. Nevertheless, this a opportunity for those who fight in armies of Obeah such as the Lightbringers to build stronger bonds with their comrades and fellow nobles."

Ferdinand was respectful to the Dame, she was a good commander and reliable unit commander. However, Ferdinand acknowledged the impact of the woman's surname among those who could remember or knew. Whilst he was not present, the scribes record the event rather well in the history books.

"I wish to talk to you at some point this evening Dame of Avengmil, I wish to ask you something. For now, you must excuse me."

Displaying a curtsy, Ferdinand turned around and proceeded to head up the staircase to meet with Mariana and Marcus. Slightly disappointed about his poor attempt to talk to the younger Dame, he made a note to her about a opportunity he had put some thought into. However, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a glimpse of the Farseer's coat of arms on a nobleman he did not recognise from his vantage point on the stairs. Nevertheless, he carried up the stairs.

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Marcus walked through a set of glass doors to a private garden, he took a bottle of blue liquid from a small crate with the Daubeny crest on it he poured 4 glasses and set them around the table, He smiled although it he knew he look slightly nervous as motioned to the table “Please sit, enjoy the wine it’s a old family recipe” Marcus walked over to the railing looking out over Rines “Rines is a truly beautiful city, I am glad to call it home” Marcus sighed and his smile disappeared “I would like to firstly apologise to both of you, I realise I interrupted your dance and I can only hope to have your forgivenesses, secondly I apologise if I have come off as” Marcus struggled with his next words “Defensive, no that doesn’t sound right, maybe vague” He shook his head “In truth, I just wanted to talk with you two, so we might get to know each other, seeing how we are all nobles of Obia’Syela and might find ourselves working together in the future” Marcus took a seat and smiled waiting for his fellow nobles to reply

Roleplay from Mariana le Craint
Enjoying the festivities, Mariana climbed the stairs with an aspect of glee within each step. Enjoying her time with Ferdinand, something she did not expect when she arrived. Guided through the glass doors opening up into a small garden, Mariana was surprised. The view over the city of Rines was spectacular however that was not what caught her attention. The privacy of the garden was something to admire. She took a glass as she was offered and took a seat at the table.

"Your words are kind. I for one do not hold any grudges." She took a sip of the wine, she was stunned. Contrary to the looks, it was a remarkable taste. Allowing the blue liquid to flow gently over her taste buds, savoring every drop.

"It is good to get to know your fellow nobles. This party was a wonderful idea, a nice retreat from my responsibilities. Though I must admit, I am not quite used to dresses such as these." She swirled the wine around the glass, staring into the vortex. She then turned back to Marcus. "This reminds me of the old days.. days long gone. My youth was filled with such events, long before I came to these lands. My past is not of great excitement in reality. I originate from Dwilight. However after a.. fight.. with my brother I was disinherited. So I left, seeking out my purpose. My travels found me here, a place I am proud to serve."

The mention of her brother caused her to frown, something she had not wished to think about. She quickly recovered and simply smiled. "That is the past, what matters now is how I forge the future." She looked over the company, Ferdinand whom she had known for a while but honestly knew little about and the host whom she also had little information on. "So tell me, I overheard your brief conversation when Sir Ferdinand arrived however there is still little that I know about you. If you do not mind, I would love to hear it."

She rested her hands on her knees as she leaned in, holding the glass steady, legs crossed over. "The same goes for you Ferdinand dear, the more I learn about you the better." She smirked once again at this comment and patiently awaited a response."

Roleplay from Mercy Attano
The servant approached Mercy halfway through her glass of wine. The servant relayed their instructions and departed, bowing. She finished her glass and made her way to the stairs.

She was greeted with a curtsey from Ferdinand, which she returned.

“Marshal Ferdinand, it was a public invitation. I decided that meeting my comrades off the field would be a good habit to get into. Thank you, your armour provides a great deal of familiarity. My thoughts exactly, we are comrades in arms and in nationality, those bonds should be nurtured equally.”

She was very much aware that the Marshal was most likely aware of her parentage and the acts that had been committed by her father. Her military service and her host’s lack of information, which she was grateful for, was likely the only things that allowed her past the front door.

“I look forward to it, Marshal.” She said, beginning her ascent.

She found herself in a private garden, the smell of fresh rain in the air. Figures that the weather clears after I arrive, she thought to herself.

She noted that the host and his two other guests were already engaged in conversation as she reached the door.

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
Jheda was kicking it at the dancefloor. Or so he thought. The amount of alcohol in his blood made him overconfident. Also, he was Highborn, the opinion of the lower nobility did not interest him much. He saw himself as an excellent warrior, on the battlefield he danced with his sword. It struck him this situation was quite similar. Especially because of the fine looking young lady who came dancing with him when a slower paced melody began. This beauty apparently never heard about personal space, but Jheda didn't mind. He was on the battlefield, not dancing with his sword this time. No, he wasn't that overconfident. It was more like a good sized dagger.

When the music changed once again, the woman came closer and whispered in his ear: "Would you care to join me upstairs? I know just the place where we won't be interrupted, so we can get to know eachother a bit better." She looked him straight in the eyes and give him a cheeky wink. "I don't think that is such a good idea, lady. I noticed the host of this event went up there with some of his guests. It would be rude to disrupt their meeting", Jheda replied. "How is it you are still able to think", the woman spoke with a dash of anger in her voice, "I have seen you drink more than a horse can handle. And clearly, most of your blood is no longer in your head. Anyway, Sir Marcus surely took his guests to his private chambers, we're going to the garden balcony."

Out of arguments, Jheda nodded and followed the woman upstairs. To those watching, the scene resembled a dog on his leash, drooling, eager to follow his master.

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Marcus, sighed glad that at least Mariana understood his predicament, “I am sorry to hear about your problems with you family, trust me I know how it feels but in regards to myself it is good I bought out the wine for this is a story best told with a strong drink” Marcus breathed in and out before continuing “I too originally come from Dwilight, My family is one of common birth, through a stroke of good luck we managed to by a estate in the realm of Westgard, and a education for both me and my younger brother, we both showed exceptional courage when a large orc warband rages through the region, we were knighted.” Marcus felt his throat constrict and his eyes moisten “I had a argument with my mother, I stuck her horse and it threw her, she broke her spine on the rocks, she” Marcus took a long sip of his drink “I was exiled and I traveled around, little more than a sellsword, till I came to Rines, used the last of the money my brother gave me to buy this house, by some turn of fate I ended up as the caretaker of the Grand Temple, I was also given a knighthood, then I threw a party to celebrate the victory in Grekh and the newly arriving nobles to the realm” Marcus felt a tear leave his eye, he wiped it, “Sorry today is supposed to be a evening of joy and festivities, but it appears my brooding has caused the festive mood to lessen”

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
The young beauty directed him towards impressive glass doors, giggling all the way up the stairs, as Jheda tried to grab here. The couple reached the doors, looked back over their shoulders, then gently entered the garden balcony. Unfortunately, these would be the only doors he would be breaching tonight, because as soon as he set foot on the balcony, he sensed other people were present. Looking around, he saw the Nobles he had seen leaving the ballroom. The awkwardness of this situation had a sobering effect, luckily. Blood returned to the places it was needed, allowing him to think and act quickly.

He made a graceful bow towards the noble Ladies and greeted the men with a respectful nod. "Lords and Ladies, excuse my rudeness. I did not intend to interrupt your business here. The young woman here wanted me to pick her flower. I mean show me her flowers. Well, your flowers, Sir Marcus. We did not realise you would be here. I will of course no longer occupy your time, please continue your discussion. I hope you can forgive me for this violation of your hospitality."

Jheda prepared to leave the room, then turned around, saying: "Unless there is anything I can do to make up for this? I do have to warn you though, I had quite a few drinks downstairs. All very tasty, but strong as Hell."

Marcus smiled at the noble “Perhaps the lady might want to see the guest wing, there a few unoccupied bedrooms that my noble guest can use should they wish to retire to the evening or participate in more, private, activities” With that he laughed and clapped his hands twice, a moment later a servant appeared in the doorway “Take the lord and lady to a guest bedroom,” Marcus winked “Unless you wished to join us for a drink” he nodded to the beautiful young lady “though I have a feeling the conversation we would be having with said drinks are not for a young maidens ears” he smiled at the couple and waited their reply.

Roleplay from Mercy Attano
Mercy took a seat, facing her host.

“Our backgrounds? I doubt any tale I have to tell would interest anyone.” It was a lie.

They were interrupted by a couple pushing open the doors. The man, clearly inebriated, apologised for the interruption. Their host summoned a servant for them.

Sir Marcus’ remark caused her to snap her head back to him. She smiled sweetly.

“And how would this conversation not be suitable for a ‘young maiden’?”

"Thank you for the invitation. If you and your guests do not mind, I would be most happy to sit down and have a drink with you", Jheda replied to Sir Marcus' kindness.

"Lady Mercy, Sir Marcus may correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he is talking to my companion. She is not of Noble blood after all, our words are not meant for her. I only brought her here to have a private dance. You on the other hand, look capable enough to handle everything that is thrown at you."

"Now, please do continue your conversation, I'll try to catch up", he said, looking around to find a suitable seat.

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
Watching the conversation unravel in front of him, Ferdinand kept to himself and watched the nobles that now had surrounded him. Sir Jheda was under the influence of multiple influences. Knowing the situation all too well, Ferdinand observed his compatriots and floated back to the discussion he needed to have with Dame Mercy. Ferdinand knew he was not known for his subtly but he needed to wait.

After the conversation had passed Jheda and Marcus, he turned to his host:

"You spoke to me about joining the Templar order. Is this the case? One thing to state on a letter, another in person. If you wish still to do so, the Templar order will welcome you into our ranks, provided you agree to our vows."

He left the topic to sit with the table and looked around to see if any of the other nobles reacted to such.

Roleplay from Mariana le Craint
Mariana held the glass in hand, deep in thought over what she had just been told. She gently placed her hand on his as if to try and comfort him, knowing that it wouldnt do much but she had to try. The arrival of Mercy was a blessing, the tension in the air was rough but the arrival of another soothed the atmosphere.

"The wine is good, it is new to me. The taste is unique." She then turned to the new arrival, "Dame Mercy Attano, I dont believe we have ever met face to face before though we did share the battlefield once upon a time, I am Mariana le Craint." She stood and offered a polite bow before returning to her chair.

Soon after, the arrival of another unfamiliar face. This time with a less than noble companion. Both Mercy and Jheda joined them at the table, a glass in hand. This had been the largest gathering of nobles that Mariana had been with and she could feel it. Cutting through the air was like facing a wall of stone. Her hairs began to raise on her arms and neck. She let out a deep breath as to calm herself and turned back to the conversation at hand.

"The more the merrier I say." Letting out a slight muffled laugh, "Another from Dwilight? That is good to see, not many of us make it across the oceans. My family originated from Luria Nova, though it has been years now since I have been there. I much prefer it here. It feels soothing. Having a purpose is good for the soul. I am certain, Sir Marcus, that you shall yourself most comfortable here."

She took another sip from her glass and looked out across the city of Rines, towards the open oceans. "If you do not mind me asking, how do you think you will serve the realm? As you are surely aware, we have three main orders that work to bring order to daily life. Have you had a chance to visit one of the chapterhoueses yet? You shall find much work to be done wherever you look."

She looked towards Mercy and Jheda, "Of course the two of you have found a purpose here, much like the Marshal over here. However, front line combat isnt for us all, but whatever you decide there will always be opportunities here."

Marcus laughed for a moment “I too hope to find Obia’Syela more comfortable than Westgard, but to think in another life we would of been enemies, it’ would seem that it wasbest that we moved here”

Ferdinand then spoke “You spoke to me about joining the Templar order. Is this the case? One thing to state on a letter, another in person. If you wish still to do so, the Templar order will welcome you into our ranks, provided you agree to our vows." Marcus looked toward Ferdinand uncertainty written on his face before Mariana added "If you do not mind me asking, how do you think you will serve the realm? As you are surely aware, we have three main orders that work to bring order to daily life. Have you had a chance to visit one of the chapterhoueses yet? You shall find much work to be done wherever you look."

Marcus nodded to the nobles and smiled “Whilst I am not the best fighter in the realm I intend to become a Templar” He then look into the eyes of Ferdinand “I will take my oaths” he once again smiled “Tomorrow in the Grand Temple of the Veild Goddess, I wish that you two” he looked between Mariana and Ferdinand “Bear witness to my oath” he then put his hand on his chin “Or do I take my oaths differently”

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
Jheda found a seat, sat down and accepted the exotic looking drink a servant offered him. After studying it for a while, with a frown on his face, he then turned his focus to the conversation taking place. When Lady Mariana took the word, the air filled with the soft, melodious sound that was her voice. Jheda closed his eyes to better enjoy it, but started drifting off to sleep. He only snapped back to reality by the mentioning of his name. When their host Marcus finished talking, he spoke:

"Lady Mariana, I once was member of our orders. That is, until the crazy Grand Inquisitor Schwarzherzig banned me and many others for so called heresy. To me a sign man is not able to lead divine orders. Sure, some are good. But I lost my trust, power will corrupt eventually. I still would give my life for the Realm, but my worship of Obeah is on a more personal level now."

He then turned to Marshal Ferdinand.

"Marshal, please enlighten us about these vows. I must admit it is the first I hear about them. What exactly do they entail?"

After his words, Sir Marcus stood up, walked to the balcony, and spoke about his doubts. Jheda would let the others address them, as they were better placed to help their host.

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Little to the assembled nobles knowledge in the grounds below a duo of guards walk past when suddenly a beautiful woman steps from the shadows, her clothing scandalously tight in places causing her body to bulge against the fabric of her clothes “Good evening men, care for a little entertainment” she walked forward ensuring she bounced with every step, testing the guards to see if they were wary of this busty beauty, one of the guards clearly young walked forward staring at her, just as she hoped, the other guard looked wary, he held his spear at the ready “Lad take a step away from her, she isn’t on the gue” he never finished his sentence as the woman’s flicked her wrist and a dagger flew out and took the man in the throat, before the other man could act she spun around behind him and began to strangle him, he proved weak and succumbed quickly” the attacker dusted herself off before dragging away the two guards into a nearby patch of bushs, she enter the shadows and exited in a beautiful black ball gown a red rose pattern embroidered into it she entered a side door into the ballroom and simply begun dancing, she glanced about looking for her target, but the noble was no where in site.

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
Standing up from the table, the Grey Knight began to explain:

"While there has been informal admittance to the order, which there is no issue with due to our circumstances, there are formal oaths which can be taken. These form two parts, the Templars Creed and then the Oath of Service. I took these vows and remember them off by heart and they are words I live by. For our purposes now, this is the Templar Creed..."

Pausing for a moment, Ferdinand depicted the creed:

"The Templars of Obia'Syella are responsible for the protection and defense of the spread of the faith of Obeah and her followers. We are warriors for her service and are sworn to protect the faithful of Obeah. We are the Sword of Obeah, forged to defend the light. We are the Shield of Obeah, made to safeguard the weak. We are the arms of Obeah, outstretched to aide the downtrodden. We are the flame of Obeah burning to ward off the darkness."

He then sat back down and awaited the response.

"You do not need to full rushed to submit yourself to an order nor is it a necessity. What is important is decide what you personally would like to do. We all provide service to Obeah in our own forms. As long as we live earnestly, whatever path you decide will have value."

She took another sip from her glass finishing off the last of the wine, she wiped away a small drop that dripped down from her rosy lips.

"Sir Jheda, I apologize if my comment resurfaced a difficult time within your life. As I had arrived soon after the events that surrounded this, I do not know this personally, however I have ensured that I read up on the histories. I can understand your lack of trust in the orders, I would be in the same position should this have happened to me. Obeah guides us all, your loyalty is something to admire."

He looked back at the nobles his smile gone, he suddenly looked tired and slightly afraid he sat back down and rested his face into his hand “I don’t know what to do”

She stood up and approached Marcus, and placed a hand on his shoulders. She could feel the pain even though she did not know the cause. Applying gentle pressure she stood silently. She looked around at the faces of the people who had gathered. A range of experiences and troubles.

"The trials we are presented with only make us better people. What really matters is how we continue, what steps we take in this new world." She stepped towards the ledge, leaning against the edge she looked over the city. She took a deep breath and turned back to face them. "The Templars of Obia'Syella are responsible for the protection and defense of the spread of the faith of Obeah and her followers. This caused Mariana to chuckle. She could always count of Ferdinand to relieve her anxiety. She smiled and walked behind Ferdinand, placing her hands in his shoulders.

"Our life is our choice. The direction you choose can only be made by you. I believe that Obeah has a place for us all. Within the sacred realm there are many different opportunities that you can take. Just like Ferdinand here, I am certain you will be able to find the place that suits you best.

Roleplay from Gigax Pilesar
Gigax stumbled up the stairs. He was excited to come and meet some of his fellow nobles. Though, being bad at conversation he mainly wandered around the grounds admiring the architecture and art work. All the while carrying one of the four small casks of wines labelled 'Gigax Special Reserve' he had brought to the party. He had stuck a reed in to the miniature barrel to act as a straw, a habit formed while spending time at his vineyard estate.

He tried to strike up a conversation with a noble named.... Who knows. Gigax mused to himself that he'd never be a courtier as he got to the top of the stairs. At the top were some beautiful doors leading to a balcony. Some important looking people and some less important looking people were talking and taking in the view. Gigax over heard mention of 'best wine' from Dwilight'. He was instantly livid, this one who calls himself Jheda obviously had never tasted 'Gigax Special Reserve '. Gigax swished his cask around to see if there was enough to share and almost fell over in the process. Just enough to share around with the other nobles in the balcony. Gigax stepped through the doors. He must have been ranting to himself for some moments be for actually entering because when he came out, one of the more important ones, Ferdinand maybe, got done giving some sort of speech. And they all stopped and stared at Gigax.

Gigax stammered and could feel the darkness quickly creeping in his vission. Before he fell to the floor in the doorway, blocking the exit he managed to say 'wine in dwilight.. ' and giggled at his own rhyme. Gigax had just enough energy left to pathetically push the cask toward the others. As he drifted off to sleep in the doorway two things occurred to Gigax: he never did find the game of greased pig and that he may have just passed out drunk in front of colleagues at what was essentially a work party. The morning would be very bad.

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
While the others looked quite shocked with the latest events, Jheda watched the Noble literally dropping in with amusement. He had believed his own entry was quite the scene, but this man took the game to a whole new level.

"I wonder how he managed to climb the stairs. He could have broken his neck. Obeah Herself must be watching out for him", he chuckled, "if you don't mind, I will take care of our friend here. I must say I have some experience with this kind of situation."

"Sir Marcus, could you order some hot water? I have just the thing with me to bring him back. This will give him the kick he needs. He will also need lots of regular water to drink, or the band which is playing downstairs will be inside his head tomorrow."

While talking, Jheda reached inside his pockets to reveal a small bag containging what looked like a black powder. As soon as he opened the bag, a strong yet pleasant aroma filled the air. Perhaps he would drink some of the substance himself, or soon Sir Marcus would have two sleeping Nobles on his balcony.

Roleplay from Armand Bellamy
Armand nodded appreciatively at the door man and followed the servant through the doors. Pausing only momentarily in the ballroom to take in the pleasant sight of so many happy dancers, ah how the sight of festivities warmed his heart, especially the comely (presumable) lady in the black ball gown who slipped into the room from a side door, before continuing on up the stairs as directed by the servant. Stopping once again in front of the grand doors that led to the garden balcony to straighten himself out before presenting himself to his gracious host. "Thank you for your assistance" he dismissed the servant who had led him this far with a polite fairwell and friendly smile before pushing open the large doors. Breathing in to begin announcing himself Armand cursed in a rather base manner instead stumbling over what appeared to be some sort of drunkard near the other side of the doorway. Quickly righting himself as not to fall and remembering his present company looked embarrassed at the gaggle of other people on the balcony, realising what he had said in surprise before bowing deep to the assembled group "Presenting Le Maitre Bellamy". Presenting himself to the people already present Armand straightened and looked back over his shoulder, once again fussing over his cape before nodding towards to fainted drunkard "It is good to see the festivities tonight are being enjoyed to their fullest."

He had just enough energy left to pathetically push the cask toward the others

Marcus then laughed loudly “Aye that they are Sir Bellamy” he then sombered and look back at Mariana and Ferdinand “I do not believe I will be a fighter, I wish to be a diplomat and a builder, improving the state of each region, keeping our people fed and happy” He smiled out across the city “I know what poverty feels like, if I can prevent it happening to other people, I will” He then drank the last of the blue liquid in the bottle “I apologise Marshal Greybrook, I know I promised my self to the Templars but I wish to avoid taking lives, even if they are enemies of the realm”

Mariana raised her glass. "A noble cause indeed. I shall be praying for your success."

She then looked towards the door, quite the mess had occurred but at least it was under control. Yet another noble she had not met before had arrived. She was starting to feel the urge to flee however she persevered. She looked upon the newest guest, she could feel an aura of refinement.

"It seems your party is quite the hit with a range of nobles Sir Marcus. I am certain this shall be the talk of the town for quite some time." She laughed, watching over as Gigax began to assist the helpless man on the floor. "Sir Bellamy, care to join us? I suppose those two shall need some space. We were just in conversation and I am sure your input would be appreciated. Sir Marcus is sharing a surprising vintage, a pleasant drink compared to some of the more common swill."

She took another deep breath then smiled. "We have quite the assortment of nobles here, I am sure this will bring about some interesting conversation. If you do not mind me asking, I have something on my mind which I wish to discuss. During my... travels.. I have met many of the heathens that reject Obeah's light for another false deity. On a few occasions I have found those whom worship those daimonic beings that once plagued these lands. What do you think is a suitable reaction to meeting such groups? I shall save my opinion as the result was rather... unsavory..."

Marcus’s eyes widened the fact that some one would willing reject Obeah’s light and willing choose to serve Daimons saddened him greatly “I would try to convince them to see the light as everyone deserves a second chance, but should I not be able to convince them to turn away from the dark, I would free their souls of the burden of sin and pray they find Obeah’s light in the next life” The next words were spoken with barely contained zeal “And I would personally hunt down the monster who corrupted such a pure and innocent thing that is the human soul”

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
Jheda listened to Sir Marcus answering Lady Mariana's question. While he did, he effortlessly picked up Sir Gigax, revealing his strength, and carried him to a couch placed there by a couple of servants. He started giving the passed out Knight little sips of the hot, steaming concoction he had prepared. When the host finished speaking, Jheda took the word.

"Sir Marcus, I only partially agree with you. When the common folk worship false Gods, they indeed do deserve a second chance. The are not to be blamed for their ignorance. It is up to us, the servants of Obeah, to guide them towards the Light. Perhaps this is where your future lays, and it would be a righteous path to walk on."

He paused for a minute, trying to figure out if Sir Gigax was about to return from his slumber, before he continued:

"But when it comes to Daimon worshippers, there is only one answer. These people made their choise, and they need to be purged from our lands. Immediately. There are no excuses. Of course, these cases need to be investigated. It is not because a father lost his way, that his whole family is guilty. We need to be cautious, taking innocent life is a big sin. But those guilty will find no mercy with me."

He looked towards Lady Mercy, concerned his phrasing might be confusing, but also interested how she would react. After all, the rumours around her family were no secret.

Mariana listened carefully to every word that he was saying. She understood the sentiment behind his words but disagreed in one section. Before she could speak up, Jheda expressed the same sentiment.

"I feel more inclined to agree with Sir Jheda. The worship of a false god can be corrected, guided along the right path. However as Sir Jheda expressed it, Daimon worship is different problem." Taking a deep swig from her glass followed by a deep breath, she continued. "When it comes to Daimon's caution my be taken. Investigation is important and only the guilty should be punished, not innocents caught in the path."

When Sir Jheda looked towards Dame Mercy, Mariana shrugged it off not knowing the reason. But she continued, "When it comes to punishment for those who seek their 'salvation' through the lies of the Daimons, there are no degrees of guilt. Punishment must be stern and fair in the eyes of Obeah."

She could feel her blood begin to boil at the thought of Daimons. The previous Violet Storm resulting in the Daimon 'guards' cause her great distress. "My curiosity arises through the opinion of Ferdinand. As the marshal of the army that rids these lands of the spawn of Daimons, how does he feel about this topic? My time on the front gave me a lot of experience, much of which I find myself using within my daily life. There is a lot of..."

She cut herself off short. The direction she was going was not suited for discussion at such an event. Instead she simply waited to see how the others would respond.

Marcus let his fellow nobles finish and then sighed “I am sorry, but I can’t believe that, even if someone chose to willing walk the dark, that there isn’t a bit of light in their hearts, even just a little bit, then they are worthy of a chance, a chance to change” His eyes then burned for unknown reasons “But those who would set others on the path of darkness must be punished” he said the last word with disgust “Though I would prefer not to be the one wielding the executioners axe” he simply sat there in though afterwards.

"Sir Marcus, I certainly understand your stance regarding this matter, for I once thought the same. It is a noble idea to try and help these lost souls, giving them a new chance. But it saddens me to tell you, it is also a naive one, as I have come to learn. Daimon worshippers have no mercy with us. They will kill or enslave us without hesitation. Every day brave men and women give their lives for the safety of their loved ones. Do they not deserve a chance on a long, fruitful life? Do the ones they leave behind not deserve a chance to be happy with their husbands, fathers or sons? No, we need to eradicate the evil where we discover it. Or it will destroy us and everything we hold dear."

Jheda looked Sir Marcus in his eyes, hoping his words did not offend the man.

"I am not trying to insult you, Sir Marcus. I too was once a young Knight, filled with ambition and hopes. But our reality is quite different. I invite you to ride with me next time we march off to battle. You will see the horrors of this harsh world with your own eyes. If you still feel the same then, I will no longer try to change your mind."

Marcus heard Jheda words and nodded once, sad that he thought such things, but understanding his point “We all sacrifice much in the service of Obeah, I weep to think of the families who have lost loved ones” he shook his head slightly “Forgive me for sounding naive but surely there has to be a way, anyway to bring back those who have fallen into the dark”

Jheda looked into Marcus’s eyes,

Marcus nodded and with grin resolve said “I will march with you Sir Jheda, but it will be I who proves that there is good in everyone’s heart no matter how far they have fallen”.

Mercy immediately caught one to Jheda’s words, she silently cursed. She recognised the look she gave her. Mercy couldn’t help but laugh harshly at Marcus’ words. “Sir Marcus, are you familiar with the sacking of Keffa?”

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
Marcus felt like he had been struck, that laughter was once of sorrow, a detachment, Dame Attano knew something, something he wouldn’t like to hear “No, what is this Keffa you speak of, it sounds like a city, what happens to it?” Marcus felt like he wouldn’t like the answer to that question

“Keffa, was Obia’Syela’s first city.” Mercy said, bitterly. “It held the first temple to the Veiled Goddess. The armies of the Daimon lord Jomorosh besieged the city, scattering your people to the wind. Then, their mortals servants of Spearhold marched through the forest. Their worshippers sacked the city and defiled your first temple.” She closed her eyes, remembering how her father told it. “My father was there. He saw the whole thing. They encircled the temple with pikemen and crossbowmen, anyone that approached was slaughtered. Inside, the Harbinger, the King, of Spearhold gouged out the eyes of the priests and worshippers unfortunate enough to be caught within. The Harbinger served as a priest for the Daimons, ‘the Tongue of the Gods’, he and his disciples then killed their captives and offered up the eyes to an obsidian statue of their gods.”

As Dame Attano spoke, Marcus paled, his eyes seemed glazed over as if he wasn’t there anymore, when she finished he simply asked “What happened to the Harbinger and his men”, he didn’t realise he was playing with the pommel of his ceremonial sword, it was to blunt to hurt anyone besides hitting them really hard with it, He felt a pain in his heart as the Dame spoke, saddened at the thought of all those innocents who died.

Mercy leant back in her chair. “He lived, until sometime ago.” She stated. Mercy eyed Mariana, it was no secret the other woman was an Inquisitor. This made her reluctant to share anymore.

Marcus felt his eyes moisten “To think that, someone would do that, willingly, to so many innocents” Marcus hit the table, it’s glass surface slightly shook “I am glad he is dead, but my beliefs are that all people should be treated well, have the right to a long and happy life, if they are human” He felt angry at the thought of so many people dying for nothing “But I see your point, monsters like this Harbinger, deserve nothing less than a slow agonising death for all the suffering they have caused” He sighed and smiled “I now understand that I have been naive on the subject of Daimons, but I still believe that most deserve a chance, and that only those who are truly lost to Obeah’s light don’t deserve a chance” He then stood “But tonight is a party is it not, so let us make a toast, to new friends” he smiled around at each of the nobles present “And a bright future for all” he lifted his glass in a toast.

Roleplay from Ferdinand Greybrook
Ferdinand had been quiet for the last few conversations. However, he was pleased. The assortment of nobles that attended this event brought some needed optimism for the realm. There was much that needed to be done and loyal nobles of Obeah needed to take responsibility when required. Furthermore, some key insights had been learnt. Ferdinand respected Sir Marcus' choice in life. Taking lives is not a task to take to lightly. However, he was intrigued by Sir Jheda's views on the topics that were discussed. Looking over Rines for a moment, perhaps another night would be suitable to sit down with the man. Nevertheless, Dame Mercy was a conundrum that he needed to solve. Nevertheless, the time was not now, his mind drifted to important matters he needed to attend to. The impression that the new nobles of the realm left was beneficial to Obeah, despite some not being able to handle their alcohol...

Ferdinand stood up and stated the following:

"Nobles of our theocracy in the name of Obeah. I am glad that I attended your event Sir Marcus, it is good for comradely to meet outside our usual settings. I have to leave to attend some of my duties as Marshal, Grey Knight and Steward. I hope that you enjoy what is left of this night, the armies of Obeah shall be leaving Rines in the coming days. I shall write to you in the coming week. For Obeah."

Standing up, he gave a small curtsy to the nobles in attendance, looking directly in the direction of Sir Jheda with a form of approval. As he began to turn, his eyes made contact with Dame Mariana and Dame Mercy, before leaving through the doors back into the party.

Marcus was shocked by the Ferdinand suddenly leaving, he stood and followed him turning back to his fellow nobles saying “I will see him to the door” as he followed Ferdinand out of the house, he felt excited at the possibility to help further the cause of his realm, he walked with Ferdinand for a while not saying anything, before smiling and offering his hand “Farewell Marshal Greybrook, I hope to meet you again on day, but until then, May Obeah watch over you in the battles to come”

Roleplay from Jheda Orobar
Jheda watched Marshal Ferdinand leave the balcony, followed by Sir Marcus. There had been a short moment between the two men, Jheda instinctively felt he and the Grey Knight were cut from the same cloth. Both loyal servants to Obeah. Each in his own way, but the how did not really matter. Results did. He looked forward to the day they would meet again, so they could get better acquinted.

Jheda would soon have to leave himself. He never intended to stay too long. His body wanted to hunt delicious prey, but in the end it was his mind who got the satisfaction. Meeting many of his fellow nobles had been quite rewarding, and he hoped today would be the start of many long friendships. He stood up and walked to the side of the balcony, to gaze at the overwhelming view of the City. It took him a while to take it all in, and as he stood there he resembled a young traveller having to leave his love behind. Finally he turned around and said:

"Friends, and I hope I can call you that, it saddens me to tell you but once our host returns I as well will say my goodbyes. Marshal Antonia set some new objectives for the Farseers, it will send us beyond our borders, so I will have to personally lead my unit. Coming here was a nice change of pace, before getting back to business. The mission might be long, but I am certain we will one day meet again. Until then, but for now, duty calls."

There had been rumours about large hordes of beasts and undead marching south, getting dangerously close to Obia'Syela. Part of the mission was to verify this, identifying a possible threat.

Initial reports from Jheda's pathfinders warned him it would be hard to travel the rogue lands. If the common folk knew about the dangers involved with this mission, they would explain these long travel times with the fact that it takes time to get around carrying such large, steel balls as Sir Jheda did. Jheda himself however was oblivious to the danger. The Veiled Goddess drew his path, he simply walked it, whistling like a kid on a morning stroll.

Marcus walked back to the balcony garden to see Sir Jheda readying to leave, he smiled and told a servant to take Gigax to a guest room and as the servants carried the still unconscious man out, he turned and smiled “Fare thee well Sir Jheda, Obeah willing we will meet again some day” He sat back down at the table and looked out to Rines, waiting for the other nobles to speak

Roleplay from Marcus Daubeny
As Marcus saw the last of his guests off he sighed with relief, he was glad to have met so many nobles, he had hoped he had mad some friends this evening, though he wasn’t sure, he collapsed into his chair and felt a pair of hands wrap around him, in shock he turned his head to see a comely woman smiling at him, he instantly jumped out of his seat and drew a dagger from under the chair “Amelia” Marcus spoke through gritted teeth.

Amelia smiled sweetly “Marcus my love have you missed me”, he growled “what in Obeah’s name are you doing here” She smiled and placed a hand in just chest “collecting my due” she kissed Marcus fiercely, Marcus then felt a shape burning pain, he pushed Amelia off him and looked at his shoulder to see a dagger embedded in his flesh, he pulled it out and gasped in pain.

“I swore to kill you if I ever saw you again” he spat out venomously, she giggled like a child “Marcus dear you can’t kill me” She began to slip out of her clothing “You won’t hurt what you love” he shook his head “They sent you” Marcus glared at the now barely clothed assassin, “You know our master too well” he lashed out and hit her in her face “They are my master no longer” the assassin crumbled to the floor caressing their face, they then look at Marcus with lust “Do that again”.

Marcus stepped back disgusted with the woman in the floor “Leave” Amelia laughed sweetly “Not without your head” she smiled seductively “Either one will do” with a wink she lashed out with another dagger” Marcus knocked it away with his own “Dammit all woman I will kill you if you don’t leave” she nodded her smile gone, instead a look of acceptance crossed her face “I had wished to have you one last time before I killed you but alas.”

She rushed him and stabbed another dagger into him this time in his right thigh, he cursed and pushed her off him he then ran towards his sword which was leaning against the wall he drew it from his scabbard and charged forward screaming “Ad mortem, inimicus!” He swung down and cut her across her leg she fell to the floor crying in agony, she looked Marcus in the eyes “Dont kill me please, I don’t want to die Marcus then realised he what he was doing, he began to cry “I am sorry” with that he swung and removed her head.

Gabriel burst in with two guards “MARCUS THERE IS A INTRUDER-“ he stopped speaking when he saw Amelia, he swore “Clean this up” the two guards dragged her body out one carried her severed head “I should of known the crazy b.... would of tried something, damm Daimons worshiping f..” he sighed and put a hand on Marcus’s shoulder “You ok” Marcus shook his head “My childhood love just tried to murder me because of a Daimon” He screamed and threw a chair at the wall “I AM LIVID” Gabriel nodded “What now” Marcus glared out the window looking out to sea “I don’t know”
