The Garden City of Ikalak clusters on the western shore of Ikalak Bay where the mighty river Toren flows into the Great Ocean, commanding both the bridge which crosses the river to Korlok and the busy wharfs where ferries from Wellaf and merchant vessels from across the Island unload their precious cargoes.

The current city was established during the peaceful idyll of Taselak Undivided following the utter destruction of its cursed predecessor and the worship of the Beppo. The new city was established several miles upriver where the waters are cool and clear, conceived by Queen Scein as a place of healing for those wounded during the Beppo Wars. Apple orchards and stately parklands surround its elegant houses and majestic ministries, providing residents with the trappings of rural life without needing to abandon the joys of urban living. Clean streets with muted night lighting reveal a level of sophistication in the city administration and even the poorest classes appear clean, well-fed, and dressed in fashionable clothes. The citizens range from the slender, graceful, silk-clad folk of the Haunted Orchards to the burly, robust, ogre-men of the Toren peaks with their distinctive baggy trousers. The sound of children fills the public squares, hale and ruddy faced from the healthy climate and relaxed lifestyle.

In the city centre a soaring tower climbs high into the clouds, the Court of the White Rider where the Eternal Queen lives in semi-seclusion, a mysterious figure to those she calls her children. Elsewhere estates take on the themes of fruit and food, a habit established by the first settlers in honour of the Taselakian warfruits. This trend is apparent not only in their naming but also in the fantastical stylings of manor house and outbuilding.

A wall of white marble snakes around the city perimeter with casements and watch towers at regular intervals.
