How Luna met Jadtha
The story of two lovers meeting in the most unlikely way.

While getting her men ready to travel, Luna's captain informs her of a new arrival by the name of Lady Jadtha. She decided to go to meet her. She looks for her and finds a redhead with the brightest green eyes near the wall of the city.
(That must be her, no one else would be so striking.)
She bows to Jadtha, and says, "Welcome to Thalmarkin, realm of all realms. I am Luna Angelo. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"oh my, I have never had anyone bow to me before. You need not do that we are both of noble blood."
"You must be Lady Luna, my adoptive brother I think told me of you, but my memory is a little fuzzy, an adventurer got the drop on me, fortunately one of my archer men struck him with a sharp one."
- continues to pack as they talk*
"I hope to see you on the field of battle, I must go unfortunately."
"see you again soon?"

"I know we are both noble, but bowing is just a common courtesy. I am indeed Lady Luna."
She bows again and then says, "I too must go, but I will see you on the field of battle. Good luck, my lady."
She turns and starts walking toward her place in the army. As she walks, her mind goes back to Jadtha.
(A beautiful girl with green eyes. How interesting.)
She shakes her head and realizes that she must get her head in the game before the battle or she might get badly hurt.

After the battle, Luna is walking through the encampment, inspecting the troops and checking morale, when she spots some familiar red hair. A smile crosses her face before she regains control of herself and clears her expression.
(There is no reason to be so excited to see her.)
She walks up to her, bows and says, "Greetings, my lady. Well fought. I saw you on the field and you are just as good with that bow as you claimed. May I see it?"
She holds out her hands reverently, hoping that the striking young woman would oblige.

"I am glad to see you are still alive after the battle"
- Jadtha proceeds to hug Lady Luna instead of simply taking her hand*
"Oh I am sorry, my step mother had a habit of hugging me when I did something well"
"I would like to be your friend if you would like, you can just call me Jade, my good friends always do"
"Also you need not bow, I am not your superior" *lets out a light giggle*
- Lady Luna then looks over and noticed her Bow was broken, might have been during the ensuing battle*

Luna blinks in surprise and a light pink color, barely noticeable, shows up in her cheeks. She is not used to people hugging her and especially not out of the blue like that, but she recovers quickly.
"Very well, Lady Jade. I hope this is the beginning of a long and productive friendship. You are an unorthodox lady, but it's oddly charming. As for my bowing, it is no more than me being polite. I do not think you are my superior, but it's always nice to bow to your equals."
Having said that, she glanced over to see a simple yet ornate bow lying broken on the ground. It was clearly Jade's bow, but was not repairable. Luna signals to her steward, who brings her another bow, one with a wolf head on the top. She holds it out to Jade and says, "An archer needs a bow. This was mine before I come of age. If you promise to take care of it, I will gift it to you. I carved it myself, so it means a lot to me, but I have no use for it anymore."
(Please take it. I do not want anything to happen to you. Gods know why.)

"Oh my goodness it is beautiful, I shall treasure it always."
"I guess you noticed my broken bow"

"It happened during the battle, some how an enemy unit got to close and managed to break my bow, my captain actually saved my life."
- After she had said that her captain walked up and whispered into her ear*
"Oh I am terribly sorry Lady Luna, I must attend to my men, my apologies"
- gives a slight bow and leaves*
(unfortunately Lady Jadtha still remains slightly ignorant of Lady Luna's possible affection for her, but in time it may become known, only time will tell)

Luna watches Jadtha walk away and shakes her head. (That girl is something else. She's so... cheery.) A small smile crosses her face, and then she turns on her heel and heads back to her area of the camp.
She tries to concentrate on the administrative details, but her mind constantly returns to Jadtha. Her captain notices her distraction, and says, "My lady, you must perform your duties. If you are to be a cavalier, as is your dream, you must put all distractions aside for a short while."
Luna looks at him and nods. She sighs to herself, then gives a quick shake of her head and continues to finish her paperwork.

During the battle, Osgar noticed some new faces along the Warrior lines. Not only men, but in particular these two very brave women (girls even) were among the ranks of Thalmarkin. One of them lead Infantry to the front rows while the other, with the red hair, held back and commanded a unit of Archers while handling the bow herself.
After the battle, walking through the camps, Osgar saw the two young women talking. He remembered having welcomed them to the realm by a letter, but never actually met them. They seemed to be getting along well, bowing to each other and hugging.
When they said goodbye, Osgar walked up to who he thought Jadtha was (with the red hair).
"Greetings, Lady Jadtha, is it? I don't think we've formally met but I'm Osgar Dacara. I just wanted to congratulate you on your fine warrior skills. We need young people like you to join our ranks. These old farts like me aren't going to last forever!"
(Laughs a bit too hard with his own joke)

- when she hears his name, Jadtha immediately bowed*
"It is an honor to meet you Chancellor, someone of such high nobility talking is a great honor"
"My brother has told me to always bow when royalty greets you"

"What exactly has happened to this beautiful realm? Why do these people rebel of your greatness?"

After finishing up her administrative duties, which admittedly didn't take long, Luna decides to practice her horsemanship. She calls her handmaids and they help her don her riding leathers. The skin tight clothing showed off her figure, but she did not care. They were more comfortable than her bright silver armor.
After changing into the leathers, she walks out of her tent and gathers her horse and squire. The big black stallion was very spirited, but he seemed to enjoy Luna riding him. There was also a rather odd white patch above his right eye. If you looked closely, it kind of looked like a wolf head. That patch was what drew Luna to him.
After arriving at the training field, she sees a few men here and there practicing this and that. That one guy was even practicing drawing!
She mounts her horse, whose name was Shadowfaer, and starts putting him through his paces. After about ten minutes, she noticed that she had drawn a crowd, and decided to show off for a bit. After one particularly difficult move, where she stands on the saddle at full gallop, arms to each side, and golden hair streaming in the wind, the men in the crowd cheered.

Osgar notices the girl bowing.
"Oh oh, no need for that, please. We are all friends here.
Concerning your question." Osgar clears his throat as if this was a hard thing to admit.
"The beasts hit us, they hit us hard. Our realm once was a glorious viking realm but with the latest invasion, was cut down pretty hard. We fought continously but the we were bleeding nobles as well, who've had it with fighting rogues day in day out. So we lost more regions and more.
Right now it seems litterally every realm is fighting for survival. And we can only applaud young ladies like you taking up the sword (or the bow, excuse me), to help us out. The more the merier and the more nobles the more regions we can keep."
He sees her nervously looking around.
"Oh please, I'm rambling again. Please don't let me keep you from your duties. We'll probably have plenty of time to catch up."

After finishing her ride, Luna takes a bath to get the sweat off. Putting on a light wrap, she gets ready to lay her head down to sleep. Her steward walks in and asks, "My lady, you gave that other lady your bow. I know of your proclivities. May I ask what your intentions with her are?"
Luna gives her a confused look. She thinks for a moment and says, "I do not know. She fascinates me, and she's really beautiful. But I do not know her. It is an interesting, and confusing, situation." She then gives a sharp look at her steward and continues, "But you will not tell that to anyone outside this room." She looks at her handmaid pointedly.
Realizing that she was dismissed, the steward bows and leaves. Luna lays on her cot and thinks about everything that happened that day, from the battle to the smallest expression on Jadtha's face. It was not hard to figure out which one stood out in her head more.

When Luna woke up, she was sweating all over. She had had a nightmare that Lady Jadtha had been killed in battle. Why this disturbed her so much was a mystery to her, but she was sure that she had to go see Jadtha.
She walks up to her, bows to her and says, "Lady Jade, it is good to see you. How are you on this day?"

"It is such a lovely day, though I'm still unable to find an estate that is available. Money will be rough to come by."

"I wonder if someday I will ever find the love of my life."
- she thinks about Chancellor Osgar, but then stops*
"Why on earth am I thinking of him?! Though he is handsome, but I do not know what to think"
"Luna on the other hand, she is the definition of beauty. You know what, no, I must think of my troops and the battle ahead I can't allow myself to be distracted."
- Jadtha's captain walks in*
"Are you alright my lady?"
"Yes, I am quite alright."
"Oh ok my lady, I just wanted to inform you the new recruits have arrived"
"AHA EXCELLENT!!!!"

While walking through the city after taking her men to the dancehall, Luna hears a woman scream in triumph. She's curious, so she goes to investigate.
Right when she gets to the door, it flies open and she nearly gets bowled over by a person who is much taller than her. "Easy," she says. "Be careful."
She then recognizes the short red hair as she looks up into the startling green eyes of Lady Jadtha. "Lady Jade!" She exclaims, before kissing her hand. "What a wonderful surprise."

"Our Chancellor is a great man and he is wise as well. He is very gracious to allow us to speak our minds, even if we tend to ramble."

Luna stares with wide eyes at Jadtha's delicate hand within her own, but does not comment. She listens to Jadtha speak of the Chancellor and feels an unexpected and completely irrational pang of jealousy. (Easy, Luna. You do not know the full story of that one, yet.))
Trying to sound casual, Luna starts to ask how Jadtha knew the Chancellor, when he walks in. She jumps to her feet and gives a slight, merely polite, nod of her head and sits back down, casually, but deliberately, taking Jadtha's hand.

Luna's eyes narrow ever so slightly, but she manages to mostly hide another pang of jealousy as Jadtha introduces her to the Chancellor. She nods her head again, this time sizing him up.
She smiles politely and says, "It is a pleasure to meet you, my lord. How are you?"
Then, before Jadtha leaves, she pulls her down to her height and whispers in her ear. "Do not overexert yourself, my lady. And please, for my sake, be careful." Then, feeling bold, she kisses her on the cheek.

"Well I'm good, given the circumstances. It hasn't been all that easy.
But I see you are quite enjoying yourself, both out in the field as here in the City."

Luna blinked at Osgar's lack of reaction, one of the few times her emotions showed noticeably on her face. Inside, though, was a torrent of different emotions: elation, embarrassment, fear. All centered around Jadtha. She smiles slightly back at Jadtha before she leaves, then turns her pale eyes onto Osgar.
"It also has not been easy for me, my lord," she says. "I'm worried about my family. They are in danger in Winifael. So, yes, while I am enjoying myself, mostly because of a good, albeit new, friendship," her cheeks pinken slightly here, "I want to see them safe."
She lowers her head and thinks for a moment, then looks back up at him. "May I ask you something, my lord?" she asks. "You saw that there was something with the Lady Jadtha and myself. I must confess... I find her...." Her cheeks pinken deeper, enough to be noticeable. She lowers her eyes and clears her throat, "well... she is rather beautiful. Do you have any advice?"

"I don't have any advice, my Lady. Follow your heart and it'll set you free."

Luna bows deeply to Osgar after his somewhat generic, yet profound, advice. "I... I thank you, my lord," she says, before leaving the tavern.
She walks through the streets with her head down, trying to make sense of her emotions. She did not know what had come upon her when she kissed Jadtha on the cheek. She was mortified that she did so, yet elated that she had the courage. It was an odd feeling, one that she did not know how to handle.
Ever since she was a little girl, she was trained to hide her emotions. As an only child and thus heir to her family, it made sense to do so. Unfortunately, she was too good at it, and was able to trick herself at times. This time, she had to figure out what it was she wanted. Her happiness, as well as Jadtha's, it seemed, depended on it.
Before she was completely aware of her location, it was dark and she had made it back to her men. She went into her tent and changed into her loose wrap before calling in her steward. Her steward was hand picked for two reasons. She was easy on the eyes, and she was good at her job. Her duties went from preparing the daily reports all the way to provisioning the men and keeping Luna's appetites in check until such time as Luna became a cavalier.
After going over the reports and checking on the condition of her men, she dismisses her steward and her handmaid comes to help her get rid of the stress of the day. The handmaid was also easy to look at, though she was hired because she gave really good massages. After a while, Luna's muscles unclench and she drifts off to sleep. Jadtha's "death" haunted her dreams again, but this time there was hope, as well. After all, before her "death", Luna had the courage to kiss her before the end.
