| Arcachon under fire | |
| Following Arcachon's recent declaration of war upon the crippled Highland Empire, ourbursts of condemnation have echoed from many corners of the island.
I, for one, will not stand in peace with any realm that wars with a realm that cannot fight back. I would expect that many others would say the same. ...Attacking a realm with no army? Pick on someone who can defend themselves if you have any shred of honor. -Morgan, King of Principality of Zonasa In a list including Arcaea, Taith Aenil and Nighthelm, the Principality is just one of the many realms that have spoken out against Arcachon's apparent land-grabbing war. However, Arcachon do have some support in their cause, most notably in the form of Soliferum. The Highland Empire is no more, those regions that the refuges from the former Empire are now sitting in need to be ruled by someone. I see nothing wrong in Pontifex Octavio's actions. -Sir Conan, Prime Minister of Soliferum The debate as to whether or not Arcachon is in the right continues to rage on. One thing is for certain though - nobody relishes being in the position of the Highland Empire right now. A formerly great realm that has been brought to it's knees, even the most optimistic person would find it hard to see a bright future for the Highland nobles. |
| Ethiala in capital confusion | |
| Command of Ethiala's capital city, Topenah, recently switched hands in a move that has caused consternation amongst many in the realm. The previous incumbent, Lady Evelyn T'Veria, had stepped down from the position after going on an extended holiday for eight days. The day she returned it was discovered that Serko Relak had become Duke. As King Thrasymaque had not appointed Serko himself, rumours began to fly that the Dukedom had been bought with bribery and back-hand deals. In an impassioned speech to the realm, the King laid out the accusations against Duke Serko:
You betrayed Ethiala when you tried to assassinate me...You betrayed Ethiala when you tried to assassinate King Einar...You betrayed Ethiala when you forged documents to acquire the Dukedom of our capital...You do not deserve to be amongst us. -Sir Thrasymaque, King of Ethiala Despite public opinion in Ethiala weighing heavily against him, and the presence of am extremely large bounty on his head, Duke Serko has managed thus far to tenaciously hold on to his position of power. In one of his few speeches to the nobles of Ethiala, he declared: Papers were not faked, they were not forged, the golds I paid were for the intense research which was necessary because of the tummult of the secession, and subsequent changes of capital, and several kings. -Serko, Duke of Topenah We will continue to keep you updated on any changes in the situation. |
| Arcaea shows monster outbreaks the exit | |
| With monsters appearing twice in only four days in Arcaea, one might be forgiven for thinking that the realm was under some sort of plague. The Arcaeans however, remain cheerfully optimistic about the whole thing. Despite how pathetic the battle was I am glad to have this little warm up, said Arcaean noble, Cheyevo. The Arcaean militia are keeping an extra vigilant eye on the countryside, but peasants have been assured that any threats that do appear will be dealt with swiftly, and that they are in no danger. |

| The past week has seen many changes in the diplomatic stances of the realms of the Far East, as the following list shows. Most interesting is the formation of the islands first Federation, between the two previous warring realms of the Principlaity and Svunnetland.
The realms of Principality of Zonasa and Svunnetland have announce that they now form a federation. The realms of Taith Aenil and Principality of Zonasa have joined into an alliance. The realms of Principality of Zonasa and Arcaea have joined into an alliance. The realms of Highland Empire and Principality of Zonasa have joined into an alliance. The realms of Highland Empire and Arcaea have joined into an alliance. Arcachon has declared war on Highland Empire. |
| Tournament | |
| The most recently held tournament was in Topenah, the capital of Ethiala. A free tournament, in celebration of the New Year, it was attended by 51 nobles from 12 realms. In the Sword section, Nobdy from The Grand Lodge of Lunaria defeated Mercutio from Batesaor in the final, whilst in the Joust Sarig from Nighthelm was victorious over Aethelwulf from Ethiala. |
