War in the North!
by Francisco Pizarro

In a surprise move, the Vikings of Norland have declared war on Minas Ithil, the realm that 'assisted' them in the bloody war against Eston. After peace was signed between Eston and Norland, the two realms joined in a federation with the Barony of Makar, and soon afterwards, questions were asked about the way Minas Ithil forced Norlands hand in claiming three disputed regions for themselves. Norland felt duped, and asked for its regions back, as well as demanding that Amdor be returned to Eston. Minas Ithil gave in to the Northern Federation and released the regions back to their rightful owners. Tensions cooled down, but there never again was mutual trust achieved. Ithilians and (former) Estonites would argue regularly at tournaments, which led to a climax when Raziel2 of Minas Ithil and Dead Angel WG, former Duke of Barad Riel under Estons rule fought eachother until death in Barad Lacirith. Dead Angel WG barely survived the encounter, but in a second duel, Raziel2 was killed by Renquest. Immediately after, eleven guards were found murdered, and an attempt was made on a Dame of Eston's life, by Eric, an Ithilian infiltrator. All the signs pointed to severed relations between the Northern Federation and the Ithilians.

And now, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Norland, sir Derack the Daring, has openly declared war on Dead Angel3. Because of the federation, Eston's armies have been ordered to stand by, should the Vikings need them. The Royal Army is rallying in Barad Lacirith, and will soon be able to move out at a moment's notice. It seems that the era of peace in Atamara will know only a short lifespan. More on this situation as it unfolds
