Elizabeth had grown up since she had first came to Obia’Syela and the Heralds, she has grown more confident but still held onto her polite words and calm nature.

She has taken to braiding her cream coloured hair, even as years had passed since the Great Ritual of Keffa. Elizabeth’s eyes still maintained their golden colour and soft glow, she still whimsically hummed tunes idly as if following an unheard melody.

As the girl followed the Prelate on their journey she suddenly stopped, her tune dying in the soft wind, she stood rigid and a frightful look came to her eyes.

She looked to Kristina “Mistress, this place, I can feel it, the death and pain.” Elizabeth scanned the surroundings, her eyes laying on a small motte and bailey fort upon a hill nearby, softly she muttered “My uncle died here, this is where his star fell.”

It would have been easy to laugh at Elizabeth in her art if the understatement. Her sensation of death and pain was as like as not being far more to do with the horde of 230 undead that roamed the land attempting to devour those who stood in their way. Coupled with the marauding monsters, Avengamil had much pain and death to be seen.... never mind felt.

"It is part of why we are here my dear one... you asked me as we set out about communing with your passed relatives. I think perhaps here, I can help you. It will be quite a dangerous undertaking, and one I do not plan twice... but it it is still your wish, I will grant it?"

Elizabeth gave Kristina a thankful smile "Yes Mistress I remember, I am certain this is what I want, I want to meet my father and maybe my uncle can help with that if we can contact him from beyond the Veil." She seemed excited and continued to walk down the path with a soft smile on her face.

She took Elizabeth into the small temple, bidding her to sit by the lightwell.

"Do not be afraid. Once we start though, it will be upon me to hold the link and the.... well the vessel we shall call it... you will direct the interaction... I can't even say how long it might last, but when I am spent, so shall he be..."

She turned back to the entrance singling out one of the undead creatures roaming the lands. It had been a man.... once.... now the creature before her was a parody of humanity, bones with dried sallow skin attached to them, empty eye sockets that yet tracked her every move with the hunger for the life it no longer possessed.

She could sense the twisted necromancy powering limbs to move with purpose, a graceful and subtle magik, insidious and corrupt in its nature. She sang to the creature.... reachinginto the has been and the was, finding the lullaby its mother had sung when the nights had teeth and claws, and it came to her even as she bound it in the chains of her will.

Elizabeth stiffened in fear as the creature came to a standstill in the lightwell, so strange that a creature lacking the humanity of thought and features could look bewildered, yet it did.

Kristina Barry the door, the song of the creatures memories of life second agure to her now as she sang and soothed it. Not taking her eyes off the revenant, she reached out a hand to Elizabeth. With a second of reluctance the girl handed over a small wooden figure of a Templar.... perhaps it represented Marcus himself, but regardless it had belonged to him.

Holding it in both hands she allowed herself to enter the rush of the flow, opening her eyes to the spirit realm. Marcus was easy to find, he stood behind, what she imagined was Elizabeth, hand resting lightly on her shoulder.

The child watched in awe as the Priestess drew sigils into the air, while her eyes yet remained unseeing.

The shadow of the girl detached itself in what most observers would believe to be a trick of the light. Harried by the glyphs the shadow joined the creature in the lightwell at first seeming only to deepen the shadows the creature itself cast, but then inch by inch, changing until there was the resemblance of a man, perhaps as seen through a dense fog.

The voice was susurration of whispers until eventually: You've grown well my niece...

Elizabeth looked shocked as the undead stepped into the light, she gasped and stepped back fear came to her eyes.

Her fear melted away into awe as Kristina began to draw symbols into the air, she could hear the song of magic humming through the in and around the lightwell.

She watched the undead slowly shift inch by inch to resemble a different man, his voice was a murmur in the wind at first, until a soft accented voice carried through the air, it sounded hollow and echoing: Youve grown well my niece...

The misty shape turned around, giving Kristina a smile: Thank you Prelate for the chance to speak again...

He turned back to his niece walking over and slowly kneeling to her level: My dearest niece, how long I have watched you grow, you make me and your father so proud...

Elizabeth gasped at hearing her Uncle's voice, tears welled up in her eyes and she hugged the misty shape "Uncle, I dreamt about this for so long, Uncle please, I am alone, our family is gone, what am I to do?"

Marcus sighed and softly hushed the girl: Elizabeth, you are never alone, I am always with you, your father is always with you, listen, do you hear him in the wind?

Elizabeth's ears perked up and she listened, she heard a whisper in the song: Daughter....

The young Daubeny smiled, her face elated with joy, she let go of her embrace with the misty man, who softly smiled at her: You are the last our blood, the Heir of the Sun, you are so strong, never forget that...

Marcus stepped back and turned to Kristina: You've done well by her, Prelate, Thank you, but I think it is time I return, my time has passed...

With a final smile and wave Marcus said: Stay Strong, and give Valian my regards...

The little wooden man had turned to ash as Kristina knew it would. She smiled sadly at Elizabeth, sad in the realisation that one she had come to see as a daughter felt so alone in her company, and sad for the loss of this token of her family.

She was not her family of course, there were no children for Kristina, her life had been mapped in a different way, and as Elizabeth grew toward womanhood, she began to see the map ahead for her too.

Her distraction began to see the revenant strain at the fine glyphs she had cast into being. Using the song she attempted to guide the creature from the Chapel. Waves of fatigue ate at her control and she felt the slithering sibilance of the necromancers craft reasserted its control.

In fatigued exasperation, she called forth the flame and burned the creature. The blisters to her palm told her that things had not gone entirely to plan, not that she would tell Elizabeth, the girl would only worry.

For now she felt a little dizzy. She sat with her back to the wall, more tired than should be the case.

Elizabeth watched in horror as the undead burst to flames, she turned to Kristina who held her hand up, she sat against the Temple's walls and Elizabeth rushed over to her side, she looked panicked and in a quick flurry of words asked "Mistress? Mother? Are you well, what happened?"

She smiled bravely but remained seated. "Not to worry my Poppet, keeping us beyond the eyes of the necromancers has been taxing for some time. Add that to the summoning.... and I have just over extended myself a little. She grinned at the girl, I am like your little man there," she directed Elizabeth's eyes to the ash Templar and quickly pulled her sleeve over her burnt hand.

"Now help me up, we have a difficult few days ahead of us."
