Having been only a small child at the time of the morning of tears, Elk spent the rest of his youth in Arrmol under the tutelage of Olaf bairnar, former war-chief of the late Prince Thorfinn, and the far, far eastern scholar amanin, before when coming of age setting out upon his quest to bring back the glories of the Jomsvikings of old.
Though often perceived as somewhat reserved and staid by those not close enough to really know him, Elk is in fact entirely the opposite and when opportunity and circumstances allow loves nothing better then sharing jokes, banter and tales with those he considers friends.
Both an extremely chivalrous and highly honourable man, Elk has recently found himself wrestling more and more with his own inner demons caused by the sometimes intense conflict between the two, as while his sense of honour forbids ever break an oath no matter what his personal feelings may be his chivalric code often damns him for it.
