The Path of the Mystic
After surviving my third death duel while exiled on the East Continent, I have been given further revelations that update our body of wisdom about Mysticism. It is widely known that I am possessed by a demon. It is also proven true that I am immortal. Why am I immortal? The new revelations tell me that as the Rogue Mystic I am the first to follow mysticism proper, and so until there are others who follow this path I must not die.
The goal, or central belief of every mystic, is that they can ascend the hierarchy through religious worship. Mystics know that by earning favour with their god(s) they may earn a recommendation. Once a recommendation is earned they are officially registered a Demigod (after they die). To worship their god we know that one must build temples and devote time to the faith.
I have now learned that this is not the only way. It is possible for other mystics to attain immortality without a recommendation. It is a bit more difficult and arduous, and complex, but the reward is more than worth the effort. When one becomes immortal via this path, they will automatically be promoted to the next class. Mystics no longer need to rely on recommendations to rise in the hierarchy, although that method is still valid. Moreover, mystics no longer need to die to elevate to the Demigod class. Should one uphold this belief, they too can be immortal as I and therefore ascend to the rank of Demigod.
Collecting the Eight Badges of Divinity
In order for a mystic to earn immortality, and thereby become a Demigod, they must achieve these eight experiences. Through these experiences one gains enlightenment and reaches transcendence. A mystic on the path seeks out these experiences, contemplates them, attracts them. Accomplishing each one brings them closer to becoming immortal. Once a mystic completes their journey they will be holy – a living Demigod!
