Zarimel is characterized by a river which once served as a border between the [[Antoza Commonwealth]] and [[Lasanar]], but is now a county of the [[League of Anacan]]. Fishers, farmers, woodsmen and rivermen all live under the somewhat sleepy but welcome banner of peace and prosperity here.

Description

The plains of Zarimel lie between the soaring peaks of Myrandis, the towering stronghold of Ipsosez, and the tallest spires of Anacan. All of which can be seen in the distance. A few towns and hamlets dot the landscapes, mostly made up of farms and noble estates with limited infrastructure. A westerly wind keeps the plains cool in the summer and warms the deep winter giving the land an unchanging feel. Seas of grain and grassy meadows dominate the land with crops taking precedence over pastoral farming. Most produce is shipped westwards on the Anacan road and it is this road that provides the focal point for the entire region. The lands of Zarimel have rarely seen the march of armies as it is of little strategic importance as compared to the regions it lies between but it is in its farming wealth that Zarimel maintains an often overlooked but still essential interest for any nation of the Far East.

The current Lady's castle lies securely in the center of the region, resting atop a slight hill overlooking the largest of Zarimel's villages, Asona. Intricately carved from stone brought down from the surrounding mountains, the castle serves as a place of safety for the local inhabitants during attacks and a place of refuge during times of hardship often providing food and cloth for those unable to afford it. A kindness the Lady pays for from her own personal wealth.

Asona is also home to the region's only temple, a small structure decorated only slightly better than the surrounding homes it rests between. The temple has long been neglected as the local peasants choose to stay true to their long-term traditions often taking weekly trips to the base of the Myrandis mountains to place offerings to the trolls they believe to rest within it's stone core in hopes of a bountiful crop. Where these offerings end up no one has ever taken notice. Perhaps the idolized trolls dig up through the hard earth to claim them or perhaps they are simply pilfered by local bandits.
