Zisa, The Earth Mother

Zisa is the Earth Mother from whom (with the help of the seed of the Sky Father) we all spring. She is a giver of life and healer of ills. Her blessing can be found in the things that grow and the earth we stand on. She would offer protection from cruelty, chaos, unholy magics. Without her harmony there is no hope.

Those who follow the path of the Earth Mother must hold her teachings in their heart. Hers are not the ways of violence so we must avoid such temptations. This usually means taking to a life in the priesthood or beurocracy (a police unit to aid and protect the common folk is acceptable to Zisa). To take such a step would be to follow a druidic sort of path. The earth we walk on is the body of Zisa and she reveres those who toil honestly for their lives. The common folk are blessed by her and we nobility who follow her path should be willing to toil with them for we are not above them. We must respect all life around us, even if sometimes that life seems to run contrary to our own views of what should or shouldn’t be. There is one thing she would ask us to stand and fight against and that is the forces of darkness that come crawling up from the ground; the restless dead and the monsters that kill indiscriminately.

Tyr, the Sky Father

Tyr is the Sky Father who gives us purpose. Where Zisa nurtures us until we are old enough to stand on our own, Tyr is the father that raises us to become what we are. It is He who steels us against our fears, so we may fulfill our duty when we are called upon.

He is the Judge and the Watchman. He guards against the fell servants of chaos, and steels us to do the same. Without His light, there is only darkness.

His is the path of the righteous warrior. To serve, to judge the wicked, to defend those who cannot defend themselves. While we value life, we also see that death is sometimes unavoidable. A Knight must not fight war for war’s sake, but he must always be prepared to fight a war worth fighting. We defend ourselves and those around us. We don’t take life if it can be avoided, but do not hesitate if it can not. To fight in His name is to become the Storm, to destroy those who would stand against you, to spare those who give way to the wind.
