Description

The family got its start centuries ago, in the region of Fontan. The first member of the family whose name has been recorded in the histories was Elethon.

Origins

the story of Elethon

Elethon was a hunter by trade. He had been taught by his father.

the life of Elethon

The region around Fontan was a dangerous place. It was full of dangerous wild animals, such as bears, wolves, mountain lions and other such beasts. However, part of what made Fontan such an attractive region for hardy folk were these animals themselves. Their pelts, if one could manage to acquire them, sold for a very hefty price.

As such, Elethon's services were often required. History records that he used to spend entire months away from villages. When the people would start to think that he had finally died, he would appear over the horizon, carrying dozens of pelts.

Slowly, Elethon managed to gain a reputation for himself. Merchants approached him directly, asking for specific animal pelts. Over time, he began to hunt more secluded and dangerous beasts too, such as griffins.

the death of Elethon

The records do not tell us any details about Elethon's death. It can be surmised, however, that he lived long enough to get married and leave an adult son behind, because at almost the same time he disappears, another man who bears the same last name appears in the pages of history.

the story of Kron

This man was called Kron. There are some that believe that Kron was Elethon's brother, and that he was always there, in all the hunts. He simply was overshadowed by his brother.

the life of Kron

There are also rumours in some regions of Fontan, even to this day, that agree with this version. However, it is much more likely that Kron was Elethon's son instead.

Details on Kron's life are not as abundant as for Elethon's. It is known that he continued his father's practice, hunting down beasts. It is also known that he took the step of teaching others his craft, forming a kind of guild, although much more informal than that.

the life of Syona

Information on Kron's descendants is at best vague. Oftentimes the only thing recorded about them is their name, with no information about the relationship between each other, or the years they lived. Things become clearer about one and a half centuries after Kron, when a woman named Syona lived.

Syona seems to have maintained Kron's guild, strengthening the bonds between its members and turning it into a band of hunters who all worked together. Occasionally, it seems that the band even provided aid to villages trying to defend themselves from bandits, marauders or monsters. It was this service that let Syona advance her family's standing. During her lifetime, Fontan underwent a period of colonization. A variety of peoples from the surrounding countries emigrated to Fontan, looking for a new start.

Fontan, even though it had been tamed somewhat the past century (in part because of Syona's ancestors), was still a dangerous place for anybody, especially new settlers who had no idea how things worked in the region. It was the leader of these settlers, a knight called Helon, who sought Syona ought and hired her and her band of hunters to keep his people safe.

By all accounts, Syona performed admirably in this task. Many tales of her achievements have been preserved to our day. For example, the tale of how she managed to trap an entire pack of lions who had been hunting down settlers inside a valley is still being told in most of Fontan. Syona served Helon for almost two decades. By the end of her service, Fontan had been turned from a backwater to a realm worthy of a Lord. In thanks for all she had done for him, Lord Helon granted Syona land.

the death of Syona

Syona did not live long enough to do much with her land however. Not even a year later, she was killed in a hunt, her neck almost bitten off by a winter wolf. Her son Ornon took over the family estates.

the story of Ornon

Ornon was radically different from his mother and the rest of his ancestors. It is evident from the records that he despised anything to do with hunting, although it is not known if he was always that way or his mother's death caused him to change (his whereabouts the day his mother died are not known). For as long as Ornon lived then, there was no hunting undertaken by anyone in the family.

the life of Ornon

Instead of that, Ornon focused on developing his lands. He built agricultural improvements, and enticed new settlers with tax cuts and security measures.

the death of Ornon

Although he died before his time due to an illness, he nevertheless managed to greatly improve his lands before passing.

the story of Ysolda

Ornon's daugher, Ysolda, was much more alike to her grandmother than to her father. She loved hunting, and did it often, even sneaking off for expeditions while her father was alive. Even though she had a reputation as irresponsible, the minute she took over the reins of power, she did her best to manage her lands as well as possible.

the life of Ysolda

Although Ysolda was not as good of an administrator as her father, she still managed to keep everything going more or less smoothly. Her biggest contribution to the family history was instead in the area of customs.

Ysolda was the one who enshrined the custom of a child hunting down a beast to mark their passage into adulthood. The beast that is chosen corresponds to the child's character: A wolf for the leaders, a lion for those who showed great strength and pride, and bears for those with ferocity. She decreed that members of the family had to hunt down one of those beasts if they wanted to earn the family name. Ysolda led a quiet rule, never quite reaching the heights of her father but cementing the family's place as nobility in the region of Fontan.

the death of Ysolda

She died in her nineties, leaving behind a stable realm.

the story of the three brothers

The next three rulers were all Ysolda's children.

the life of the three brothers

A feeling of inertia settled over the court during their reigns. They didn't do anything rash or wrong, per se, but they also did not care about improving their domains in any ways.

the story of Mirena

After the three siblings came Mirena. Mirena was Ysolda's granddaughter from her third child, the only one of her children to actually have any progeny.

the life of Mirena

Mirena spent the entirety of her twenty-five year reign trying to rein in the inertia the realm had sunk into. It is recorded that she rarely spent more than a few months in the family residence, even when she was no longer a young lady. She travelled extensively, both inside her territory and also in the rest of the region.

Apart from improving her realm, Mirena also fostered closer ties with the rulers of Fontan. Over time, Mirena's family became one of the Sword Lords to the ruler of Fontan, fighting alongside them and protecting them in battle.

the death of Mirena

After Mirena's death, the family continued on the same path, taking decent care of the family lands and keeping their connection to the ruler of Fontan going.

the story of Selenor

The current lord of the family, Selenor, has been something of a disappointment.

the life of Selenor

During his reign, he was called on by Luna Tempest, the current Lady of Fontan, to fight alongside her, just like his ancestors. Selenor did fight, but he performed horribly, almost getting Lady Luna killed in the process. He was humbled and dishonored in front of the entire court. From that point on, he has been most reclusive, staying inside his lands.

Lord Selenor has also failed his own family. He always wanted a son to continue his legacy, but his late wife granted him two daughters before fulfilling his wish. Selenor sees both daughters as failures and used to beat them often while they were children.

the story of Jafaria

Jarfaria(1).jpg

Selenor's first born is Jafaria. Nominally the heir to the family, although certainly not her father's pride, she was trained daily in the family's weapon of choice, the halberd.

the life of Jafaria

Despite the constant beatings and abuse by her father, Jafaria remains a trusting person, perhaps out of a need to be liked. Moreover, her military training has led to her becoming an excellent fighter, always eager and ready to defend the family's lands and people from threats.

For her hunt, Jafaria chose the wolf. Yet not only did Jafaria slay one of the most dangerous wolves roaming Fontan, she was also taught how to train them, in case she ever required a wolf guard of her own.

In her time of serving in the nation of the Shadow land. She swear her loyalty to Lady Luna the lord of her home region. Serving well in her name as well being one of her first Dames as well. In her service to Shadedale she did well in the war against Eppylon and Sirion. So well that she was tasked to join a special unit to strike deep in Sirion lands. Regretfully they were pushed back but, served their role as planned. During this time she was made lord of Greatbridge fir her reward.

After the unit returned to the main force she took a temporary different path instead of going to the Frontlines. She took a recess to manage and maintain her region. Though she would ultimately fail numerous times due to the people being to rebellious for her to handle. After which she return to her homeland of Fontan under Lady Luna for a short period. In this time Lady Luna renamed the Beachfront Mansion that she took as her estate. Luna renamed it after her family for her good service. It is now the Wolfvern Manison. In addition to this supported by Lady Luna and voted by many Jafaria was voted to be Tormentor of Shadowdale the Judge of the realm.

Short after she was rewarded has Margravine of Akesh Temple once her friend Fredrick Stromrever left.

Death of Cara Wolfvern. 03/02/21. The cousin of a branch had always been Jafaria friend and agent growing. Spent many hours together but never in public du to her being lesser. Many fond memories we're shared. Rage now fueled those memories in thr war against Alexandria for the execution done to her.

the story of Siclica

57SjAHrd2KUy3GPHUzE9PC7yx-F tS2frQ 8fp0V8OM(1).jpg

Siclica is Selenor's second child. Where Jafaria responded with obedience and trust to her father's abuse, Siclica instead developed a sense of pride and authority. Because of this, she has been often reprimanded for speaking too loud or un-ladylike. Because of her nature, she was the one who stood up for herself and her sister, often going against her father on things and committing small acts of rebellion against him whenever she could. Needless to say, there's no love lost between Selenor and Siclica.

the life of Siclica

On account of her pride, Siclica was ordered to hunt down a snow white lion for her rite of passage. That she did, trailing the beast for days in the cold of the mountains before bringing it down, ambushing it inside its lair. After killing the beast, Siclica skinned it, and used its white pelt to adorn her armor.

Siclica lived a short life in Vordul Sanguinis. From the day she arrived to her death she saw many conflicts. She was one for the blade and saw no better use for her life than to be a sword. Though she was not one much for religion she event joined the Vordul religion but, practiced it in her own way. Through blood and combat on the battlefield was her praise and worship to their God. From the incident in keffa and the following of Emilia to her last battle of Icrymbar. She served what she believed was well and with pride. 4/11/2021

the story of Impi

Impi(1).jpg

Impi is the son Selenor always wished for. A tall, muscular man, boisterous and strong, just how Selenor imagined his children would be. Unlike his sisters, Impi was never abused by his father.

the life of Impi

What also helped was Impi's ability to excel in most things. On top of being an excellent fighter (he uses a mighty warhammer instead of a halberd, claiming that the hammer suits him and his strength better), Impi is also a voracious book reader, absorbing knowledge at an exceptional rate. The only thing Impi is lacking in comparison to his sisters, especially Jafaria, is his ability to lead. He simply does not seem to have the same power to foster bonds with people that his sisters do.

For his hunt, Impi was assigned a bear, to match his ferocity. To showcase that ferocity even more, Impi chose to fight the bear unarmed, essentially wrestling the beast into submission before killing it. Naturally, this feat gave him a variety of scars along his arms and torso, which he proudly shows as often as possible.

Revenge era Impi served lord as over a modest region in Tor Goldera. Itaufield was his fir months till the news of Siclica reached him and he left for revenge. He joined Vordul Sanguinis ,Siclica pervious realm, to get honour and vengeance. He traveled to Obia's capital of Keffa to kill Heinrich De LA Salle though he never showed. Instead he was challenged by Valian Stone and beat him in a duel of Submission. He then left to prepare fir the coming war.

Selenor's years are coming to an end sometime soon. His three children, however battered by their father and life's events they are, must succeed him and keep the family going. It is not yet known if they will manage to do so.
