Amaarent Vasata, High Priestess of Lodril
March 8th
"I have one advice to offer to anyone who seeks permission to preach in any realms lands on Atamara: Do not trust the word of the ruler if they say yes.
If they say no, then they probably mean it, but if they say yes, then they probably don't actually mean it. They will tell you to leave a few days after your first priest has preached in their lands. This has now happened twice to Darkanism.

"Why they do this, I do not know, but I can say one thing: The rulers on Atamara are not trustworthy when it comes to dealing with anything concerning a foreign religion."

Easy, High Priest of Darka
March 8th
"Saying yes first and then later saying no with some excuse is easy for a ruler: first you are the good ally who is open to the other realm's religion, then you can find a valid reason to send the priests away and still keep a good feeling afterwards. Speaking about care for their own inhabitants: it is foolish to let a religion be preached and then send the priests away. A few hundred citizens get converted, and then what? They don't have the right to express their belief, they cannot visit unions to share their faith with others, and they cannot hear more stories from priests about the gods they worship. That is simply immoral."

March 28th

So another realm can no longer tolerate the insolence of a noble named Haughty. In the February edition, the VHN reported that Haughty was cautiously welcomed into Darka in spite his past history. However a full moon cycle since then, Haughty will leave the gates of Darka else face the swords of Darkans.
For breaking the Darkan laws, Haughty was banned. "Disrespecting superordinates, insulting fellow comrades are considered acts of high treason and will result in you being thrown into the bottom of our Holy Volcano."[ref]
"A clown like yourself should know better not to insult Darkans. I thought that the repeated warnings you received would bring some sense to you, but now I know you re just a big joke to the aristocracy. And a dead man walking, that's what you are..."[ref]

March 16th

A new law was passed yesterday declaring that founding a new religion within Darkan borders is now illegal. This law was passed by the Arch Priestess Lavigna Galadeon. Therefore, the official religion of Darka is Darkanism.
In a short statement issued by the Arch Priestess, she stated that no law would ever dictate a noble's freewill, "you cannot be forced to become a follower of Darkanism."[ref]

March 10th
by Nirandor Jezralhm
An elder and prestigious of Darka, Winters Hylian aged 43 retired from active duties as a noble just yesterday. The former Duke of Saler and former patron of the Saler Shock Troops, was seen walking into the forests of Saler. In a meeting between King Kostaja Kosunen[ref] as recounted in a journal detailed the final moments of Winters' known life.
Winters will be entombed in Darkan folklore as a begrudging fighter with strange origins. As an elder of 43 years, his appearance gave that of little more than a young man.

Mr_Jones will replace Winters as the Duke of Saler.

In what seemed to be a continental first, a nation allowed foreign priests to preach within their borders. However, a simple clerical error was to be blamed for this incurrence. Lady Amaarent Vasata, High Priestess of Lodril, excitedly told the nobles of Darkanism that on the 3rd of March, "Tara has given us permission to enter their lands and spread our faith."[ref]

As a result, High Priest of Darka Easy and Flame Bearer Azriel were designated to represent members of Darkanism on their mission to Tara.[ref]
Yesterday, Jonathon, ruler of Tara, issued this letter to Lady Amaarent: "I apologize, but due to a misunderstanding on my part, I have inadvertently given you permission to preach in Tara when I should not have. Please remove your priests from Tara as soon as possible."[ref]

It was a great disappointment to the members of Darkanism; and one must pose the question, will any one faith ever be dominant in Atamara?

March 4th

A month on from the declaration of an armistice between RedSpan and Darka in the RedSpan-Darkan War, there is still yet to be a concrete peace settlement between the two nations. RedSpan relations to Darka and Talerium are set at neutral, but Abington, a federate ally of RedSpan, still remains diplomatically at war with both Darka and Talerium.

After a brief inquiry to the kings of both RedSpan and Darka, it became clear that RedSpan-Darkan relations have became icy cold.
"I haven't talked with Tony at all after ceasefire was signed," said the King of Darka, Kostaja Kosunen.
Similarly, King Tony stated that "we haven't had peace talks"[ref].

Nevertheless, the signs for peace have been promising. Darka has offered similar armistice agreements to Abington while King Tony remarks that, "I would like to see peace in the future between RedSpan and Darka."
Abington however, have yet to agree to ceasefire nor to end hostilities. King Kostaja Kosunen stated that, "Queen Armitage III denied" armistice agreements sent by Darkan envoys to Riverholm. In addition, there has been a dramatic increase in umbrageous acts - ranging from stealing Darkan gold to sneaking around noble quarters with daggers - by Abington nobles.

When questioned about the recent influx in Abington infiltration into Darka, Tony replied that: "It is regretable, but infiltrators are a slippery bunch. We may not condone the actions of the infiltrator, but as always we will stand by Abington in any event."

Only time will tell whether the seeds of peace can be sown or if the lands once more become trodden upon as armies march for battle.
