Juan, Knight of Maycxal
February 22nd
"The Gods created rodents to be the staple food for all predators. It is the nature of things. For how could the Hunter exist without the Hunted? Can we be Predators without our Prey? The Falasan Rabbit is indeed our prey today. We only follow the Gods' will in devouring them. It is how the world works. It is destiny."

"We have made a slight change in the newsletter. The articles will be split into two columns now. Also the monks of Tolhuar were glad to repaint our Coat of Arms and the scribes of Saler were only too glad to add their colorful embroidery to the pages. Our charge remains unchanged, that's one gold for foreign nobles."

February 22nd
by Nirandor Jezralhm
Torin Capashin, the former Duke of Tucha (Falasan cedes his Duchy to create Capashinia. Only a day ago, Torin sent a copy of his speech to his city to all the rulers of the continent. In it, Torin expresses his sorrow for the barbarity of war.

"When I was appointed Duke of Tucha, Cathrine made me swear that I would do everything to protect my people. Therefore I feel I have no other choice but to declare that Tucha is neutral in any and all upcoming conflicts."[1]
This could not have been worser timing for the nation of Falasan, as they lost three regions in their south to Tara in an alliance treaty. Income for Falasaian nobles is expected to drop considerably with the loss of tax revenue from Tucha, Picnu and Cori.

This comes only hours after the election of Tank as the King of Falasan succeeding former Queen Catherine, receiving a paltry 26 % of the valid votes.

Battle was waged this morning in Belegmon, Falasan. A force of over 2000 men (almost 30000 in combat strength) from Darka and Eston marched into the Townsland defended by a small contingent of Falasian nobles.
Eston's Torik was injured for the attacking force while the Royal Treasurer of Falasan and Baron of Chato was seriously injured along with Tucker, Knight of Chato.

Undead have been spotted in Saler for the past few days and yet the nobles and militia have been unable to engage them in combat. It appears this variant on the usual 'living dead' have gained unholy speeds which could not be matched by any human leg nor horse.
However, as growing contingents of these walking corpses scour the lands, greater amount of armed men approach the region in hope of corner these pestilence bringing lamia.

February 14th
by Nirandor Jezralhm
Today marks the Day of Lovers, a celebration of love between a couple for all the followers of Darkanism. Throughout Darka today, nobles and peasants alike spent time with their lovers and exchanged gifts. Many ceremonies were held in Darka's name this evening.
In other news relating to Darkanism, two new shacks were constructed. Lavigna of Tolhuar and Peak of Ixzal both finished construction of new temples.

February 13th
by Nirandor Jezralhm
Estranged noble, Haughty HeadHunter has recently arrived in Darkan lands. Darka has seen many unwanted nobles and has welcomed them with caution, giving these warriors the chance to prove their loyalty.

Haughty arrived with a letter to all nobles of Darka stating that, "All I want is to fight in battles. I don't care if any family members are on the opposing side."

In response, Arch Priestess Lavigna Galadeon replied, "I personally don't judge people by their past. We have examples of men that [were] considered traitors in other realms while here, they're one of our most loyal troopleaders."
Haughty began as a noble of Norland, before being banished by Grand Justiciar Oglethorpe of Norland for inciting war. At the same time, his brother Heed, then Cavalier of Minas Ithil, was also banned; by Arch Priest Anton of Minas Ithil for the same reason. Heed has now found refuge in Falasan.

Haughty then attempted to join the Estonian ranks but not before Arch Priest Christofer Kane of Eston dismissed him from Eston lands, for "being banned from our federated partners and openly admitting the possibility of spying for Falasan".

Eurotan is the location of a third new temple to the religion, Darkanism, as construction was completed late last evening. Angadialas, the count of the region, established the small shack.
The completely converted population of Eurotan welcomed this holy temple in the village as the peasants now find themselves with a suitable place of worship.

February 11th
by Nirandor Jezralhm
In as many days, a second shack to Darkanism was built in Darkan lands today.
Sebastian, the count of Tertul, authorized and completed the construction of a small shack in Tertul just this evening.
As the sun set upon the lands of Atamara this evening, the flicker could be seen on top of the Holy Volcano of Mnt Sinclair as spectators comment that they felt the presence of the beauteous war goddess, Sigrid.

February 10th
by Nirandor Jezralhm
A seventh shack of Darkanism was built today in Xutltec in honor to the three gods of Darkanism, Sigrid, Darka and Lodril. Fang, the baron of Xutltec, commissioned the construction of this small shack which was finished just this morning.
The people of Xutltec were grateful for their Lord Fang and offered great sacrifices in Fang's name to The Three.
As the sun rose from beyond the horizon, the great Mnt Sinclair could be seen from a distance. A great mist fell upon the Holy Volcano in a great halo. Citizens of Darka arose to this amazing spectacle and were held in awe as many believed that Sigrid and Darka were celebrating upon Lodril in commemoration to the new place of worship.

February 5th
by Nirandor Jezralhm
After almost three weeks, the RedSpan campaign is coming to a conclusion as Darkan and Talerium troops march to their homeland. This comes after the armistice declared between the King Kostaja Kosunen Cosula of Darka and King Tony of RedSpan, effectively halting the RedSpan-Darkan War.
However, as the tired men return home, they are expected to encounter numerous hordes of undead and monsters in both the Cagilan Empire and Tara. While many nobles return to their capital to recruit fresh arms, some nobles may divert to aid their fellow human plight.

February 4th
by Amaarent Vasata
The war with RedSpan has come to an halt after a armistice was signed today. The ceasefire is expected to last 6 months.

When one looks at the cost of the war to RedSpan, paying the fine would have been much cheaper and much more pleasant for the RedSpan peasantry. Instead, Darka had to march and gather the fine from the peasants of RedSpan themselves and you can see the result of that in the cost calculation.
Rough estimates of the war cost to RedSpan:
  • Over 1200 gold looted by Darkans
  • Reduced walls in Stargard, estimated repair cost over 2000 gold
  • Reduced walls in Sullenport, estimated repair cost at least 1500 gold
  • Walls destroyed in Ambermel, irreplaceable
  • Additional looting and damage done by Talerium and Barony of Makar
  • Total cost: At least 4700 gold.

February 4th
by Nirandor Jezralhm
A Darkan bureaucrat, Darmagro Aktil´Rohar, aged 37, was tortured to death in Stoneville (Abington) today. Darmagro has had a very checkered past, being banished from many realms and continents before finding sanctuary in Darka in only 7 moons ago.

This dishonored noble outlaw was tortured ghoulishly beyond recognition by Arch Priest and current ceremonial King of Abington, Gauihu Olik.
In retaliation, Darka swears to avenge this by executing Abington prisoners. In a public letter to Gauihu, Darka's Arch Priestess, Lavigna stated that "all banned infiltrators of Abington will receive death in the Holy Volcano so Damargo's life can rest in peace... their death will have your [Gauihu] signature on it."

February 3rd
by Nirandor Jezralhm
Thousands of peasants fled their homes, scores have been slaughtered and countless animals have disappeared as a result of the recent undead and monster uprising. It appears the south-western lands (Cagilan Empire, Eston, Tara and Carelia) of Atamara bear the brunt of this attack. Region lords of those affected have beseeched their knights to return to their region and aid in the destruction of the rogue units.
Speculation has been made on this recent insurrection as a prelude to a great undead invasion akin to that of the distant continent of Beluaterra. These abominations have proven to be great warriors as hundreds of fighting men have been slain. As many as 1711 undead are ravaging the Cagilan Empire alone (as of 4th February).

February 1st
by Nirandor Jezralhm
Sullenport, one of the grand cities of Atamara and the largest of RedSpan was besieged last night as a fierce battle was waged between Darka and Talerium, Abington and RedSpan. Darka and Talerium seized the RedSpan city overnight.

The vicious battle left the Sullenport fortifications heavily damaged and is now merely a Keep. Nobles from both sides have been captured or wounded.
Curiously, the Battle in Sullenport left both Darka and RedSpan without Generals as the High Marshals were incapacitated in the battle. Dielo was dragged to the Talerium lines while Herumor was thrown back in the capturing of Sullenport and was wounded by what appears to be a piercing.

In the morning, several RedSpan units were smothered by the defending Darkan and Talerium troops.
