Virovene/Kaiser Cato's Last Words

(The last moments of the life of Kaiser Cato, as documented by scribe Rupole, realm Historian)

Cato sat in his cabinet all alone, when his scribe came in announcing a messenger from D'Hara.

"Their leader wants better relations, I am sure the messenger is here to deliver the treaty. Let him in!"

The messenger walks in and waits until the doors are closed and he is alone with Cato. The messenger bowed and stepped closer until he was only few meters from the Kaiser. He bowed and started talking.

"Dear Kaiser, you have annoyed a lot of people, you took the lands that other people wished for. Now is your time to go!"

The messenger ran towards Cato and after small struggle, managed to stab him several times... Cato was struck down and hardly breathing, but he managed to call the guards.

The assassin laughed and said to Cato: "The guards cannot help you, if the dagger dosen't kill you then the poison on it will. I hope you feel pain! When you are dying, then know that Duchess Allison Kabrinski won. She asked me to do this. Die you dog!"

The doors opened and the guards came in, the assassin jumped quickly through the window and escaped without being captured.

"Bring the closest nobles to me! Do not try to save me, sit me on the throne!" Said Cato with sore voice.

The nobles around the court ran to the already crowded room and went as close to the Cato as possible.

The Kaiser sat on his throne, bleeding, he made his last effort to speak with loud voice:

"Honoured Nobles, an assassin sent by Duchess Allisson Kabrinski have got to me. I will die within minutes. So listen and remember what I say! Do not seek for revenge! My son who has been sent to Atamara, will take care of that! Remember that we should not wage war against fellow believers! We shall not wage war against Sanguis Astroism! Hear my will! I ask you to make Marshal Gerome Falcon or Marshal Helena Dacara as the next Duke/Duchess! I ask you to make Kole Kalmar or Tye Von Snype as the new Kaiser. I ask you to make Hericus Le Fay as Lord of Muspel and the General of our realm. Take over the north and spread faith! But do not attack the fellow believers! For Virovene! For De La Fere and For Sanguis Astroism!"

Cato coughed a bit and continued slowly...
