Subpage

You've put a lot of work into your character pages, but you need to remember that they all need to be subpages of your family page. If you need help with this, just ask - most people on the wiki are glad to lend a hand. -- Murakama 07:08, 24 May 2008 (CEST)

Yes, I've put links on each of my characters, so that would make them as subpages, let me know if you have some propositions, or how to do it better... -- Targon 12:44, 24 May 2008 (CET)
Its done. Ceorl 13:38, 24 May 2008 (CEST)

Upload Images

Can you upload Banner18 to the wiki and use the wiki syntax please? --Vita Family 10:28, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Done and done. --Targon 13:53, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Realm Maps

The wiki can link directly to the game-generated realm maps. Check the Enweil page and see how I linked the IG image. This way you will never have to upload a new version of the map. --Indirik 15:35, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

I am aware of that possibility, however, just a post above yours in upload images section, player of Vita family (who also takes care of wiki) asked me to replace a game-generated Banner18 with an uploaded one, which I did. Personally, I don't mind using either, but what is the standard, to use game-generated stuff whenever possible, or not to use them at all? --Targon 20:32, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
It really depends on the use. Banners have changed before and so it is good to upload them so we have an archive of past banners for historical purposes. It is my opinion that the realmboxes should have dynamic images so it is up to date. However, if you want to build an archive of past realm maps, a static uploaded wiki link would be best. Indirik, should we talk to Tom about forming some style guide consensus on this issue? --Vita Family 22:43, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Possibly, I guess. Start a post on the editor talk page, or something. --Indirik 03:14, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Targon: I think a good guideline is that when linking to an IG map, it will change, and you want the map on the wiki to always be current, link to the game provided image. If you are linking to something that may change, but you don't want the image on the wiki to change with it, then upload a separate copy. For example, a current realm map on the realm page should be an external image so it's always correct. If you are posting a historical archive of what the realm was like at some particular historical point, then upload a new copy. Does that make sense? --Indirik 03:14, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Sure, I think it is best a realm map on extarnal page is always correct. Although the idea of creating an archive of past maps is not a bad one at all, the way I see it, it'd consume too much space and time perhaps, so I'll leave it at that for the time being. --Targon 21:51, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
