While at first I thought it would be a bad idea to remove locations from character list, after reading your reasons and remembering that marshals and armies have locations in their information, I support the suggestion. Considering email Tom or the d-list about it. --Vita Family 12:12, 17 August 2008 (CEST)

Although I agree that accepting money from someone other than your liege normally deserves a loss of power, there are too many exceptions to this rule to justify a loss of prestige. Perhaps a loss of honour? Or even simply a wiki campaign to raise awareness of how its wrong. Relatively ineffective, I know, but losing prestige for exchanging money is a cure worse than the disease.

I absolutely agree with you on the loot notification issue. Allowing news of looting to pass through characters' mouths adds an all important plausible deniability. Its a great idea! The exception would be when Core (perhaps even Main) regions of that Judge's realm are looted; there would probably be guards/messengers/local nobility who would alert the judge.

You seem to have a point with the location list, too. --Hroppa 12:31, 17 August 2008 (CEST)

I liked the looting suggestion too. Especially Hroppa's ideas about core or main being different. I can imagine nobles looting border regions just to get gold without being identified. It would another use for those statuses too. Though I would like to see it harder to maintain core regions for every region of a realm. Make it more realistic in that there are provinces and main regions. Of course the effect of having a lower status should be reduced I think if that were to happen. I think only a capital's duchy should have core regions really. --Vita Family 12:45, 17 August 2008 (CEST)

Just keeping a few things at the bottom for reference.

Get rid of the Location column on the Character List

Honestly, someone explain to me the rational, IC-wise, for being able to go to a list and instantly see where every (non-infil) character is on the map? Joe Blow has entered a region a full 8 days march from you, and you know it the moment the turn changes?

What was the point of all of the new looting code, where you may not be recognized when you loot, if all the judge has to do is look on some OOC list and see you are the only one there, and slap a fine on you?

The only people who will seriously fight for this are rulers, judges and marshals who want to keep the thumbscrews tight.

Solution(s): remove the column, or label the whole Char list as OOC.

This was discussed in the Discussion List and Tom declared that because a noble is such an important person, other nobles would keep tabs on where they are. The location column is entirely IC.

I still feel that this answer is silly, and is given to defend what exists rather than to explain that it was done intentionally for Game reason. But in any case, Tom has considered and rejected it, so case closed.

Threatening complaining to game masters:

"and not just rush off to complain to the game masters" - from User_talk:Innoova page.

Just a heads up, its considered inappropriate to threaten reporting someone to the game masters. Its either something you do, or something you don't do... but you shouldn't use it as a threat. I found this came awfully close to being a threat. -- Uceek 06:52, 7 September 2008 (CEST)

I meant I was trying to have a mature discussion on it with him first, rather than talking to the Wiki editors. I misused the term "game masters" - it should have read the Wiki editors. It was a mistake to do so - I will simply make an anonymous complaint in the future.

yep, I see now. thanks.

Atamara Independent

It was not a censuring. As far as I know, battlemaster is very hesitant to censure things with bad taste as evidenced by Giblot Gestapo Gazette. The problem was its irrelevance and seeming spamminess. That is no more. There is the issue that Alex and I discussed where you circumvented the block.

The beaten more than pedophile's victim was on IRC where hardly anyone goes and is not permanently saved(beyond even few of those people's logs) unlike the wiki where many more than IRCers visit and is saved for all posterity. I don't believe one OOC ban is a record. Furthermore, Timothy(who gave it) has said it was a mistake anyway. Third, I admitted my mistake to Tom and the entire d-list and the player was unlocked as soon as could be done. --Vita Family 16:04, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

P.S. I know very little of Semantics and was brought in before the update. --Vita Family 16:18, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
