History

The Fraoch family have a short and ugly history as traders before their rise to noble status. Trading in blackmail, bribery, and general corruption of powers was a relatively good business but at one point a desperate group of petty nobles fell in with Niall, and agreed to recognise a fabricated claim to nobility in exchange for certain unseemly considerations. Niall then dedicated himself to expunging the history of the newly founded Fraoch family, and while all three of his sons were aware that their father was not a man of high character, their children were raised in ignorance, though the sudden switch in fortunes has made them often very confused about their place in the rigid feudal order.

Tyrien's Children

Tyrien was a mercenary and a thug at heart, and his children share his skill with a blade.

Ciann

Ciann went from guttersnipe to religious zealot in one fell swoop, having been old enough to remember the days when the family was not considered nobility, she suffers from both religious mania and a deep sense of insecurity. She clings to religion both out of thanks for lifting the family up, but also because it provides a means of stability in her otherwise chaotic life. She is a complete fanatic in the Adgharian way, but as her mother was not a noble, many of her beliefs are not in line with the sactioned church. Update:Ciann is learning to play nice, but while she is learning the finer points of diplomacy, her goals remain the same. She has recognised one grand crusade may be impossible, but that the infidel nations can be made clean one by one.

Solips

Solips is far too smart for his own good. Raised as much by a monk as by his father, he obsesses over theological and metaphysical questions and has developed an unhealthy obsession with Blood from his time studying the Bloodstars. Believing that the stars themselves were but a method of understanding the workings of the blood he has begun some grisly research into death and the types of blood which animate the world. Update:Solips has fallen away from the Bloodstars worship and has started taking large quantities of drugs to help him realize the potential in his blood. This lead to him having almost constant hallucinations. By far the most common are messages from the spirit of Tonkotsu, who's goals are almost always brutal in nature.

Mienor's Children

Mienor worked as a knife-man before he was raised up, and taught his children to be utterly ruthless

Widden

Widden is kind, and nice, and generally a decent sort. Assuming you can avoid his schemes he is a wonderful ally. Sadly he schemes as much by compulsion as by need. He hates battle and conflict as they ar enot things he does particularly well at, and would prefer to settle everything by debate and knives in the dark. He highly values the opinions of others and would never stoop to doing such dark deeds themselves but he most certainly doesn't mind arranging for someone else to find an "incentive" to do the deed. Update:The past couple of years have really worn on Widden and he has lost his innocence and become increasingly bitter about life in general. His cousin's success grates on him constantly, even though he's fairly sure Ciann is crazy.
