Family History:

James

The Atkinson family answered Tara's call for new young Nobles in the middle of 1006, by sending the young James to fight. James had desired to join Tara's Military from the moment he reached his Majority, but his father had insisted on James finishing his education before joining. Unfortunately Tara grew very desperate as Falasan and RedSpan closed in to destroy her. Finally after seeing the devastation of Tandsu first hand, Phil could delay no longer and told James that he could join with his blessing.

James adapted quite quickly to the military life, and quickly developed a knack for leading troops. He was appointed second in command of the then secret taskforce, code named "Silence". On their first mission out they caused ultimately minor damage overall to the Carelian country side, but they accomplished their main task, of drawing off twice their number in Carelian Defenders, allowing the Cagilan Empire and the Main Taran Army to sweep aside Carelian defenses, ending the war much sooner than otherwise possible.

When General Lister went off on a spiritual retreat, James was promoted the commander of the taskforce, but while they fought in battles when the main army could not, they never again knew the glory of their first campaign. When Lister returned, he retained command of the taskforce, as its former commander accepted the position of Duke of Foda.

Towards the middle of 1007, Dictator Jonathon had decided that he had had enough of the stresses involved in being dictator, and stepped aside to allow for elections, some clamored for James to take the mantle of the dictatorship, but James refused, and instead endorsed Lister for the throne. Lister was elected easily, and one of Lister's first acts was to promote James to General of the Armies of Tara. A position he currently holds.

Kimberly

Kimberly was only a year James' junior, and very desperately wanted to step out from beneath his shadow. But try as she might, she could not do that on Atamara. She had tried doing things that James found beneath him, hoping that she would excel and make a name for herself there. But try as she might, she couldn't achieve her goal. Finally she boarded a ship and went off to Beluaterra. There, far away from Atamara, was a place where she could finally get away from her brother. But it didn't take her long to realize that it wasn't her brother she was running from. It was herself.

She had arrived in Plergoth, through some freak of nature a nation that had the exact same climate as Tara. The nation was in turmoil, grumbling of discontent had fostered from the lower ranks of nobles. But Plergoth was a democracy, surely the nation would correct itself. While she had arrived too late to participate in the December 1006 elections, the results were overwhelming against the old administration. Enough so that the Duke of Creasur had thrown around accusations of ballot box stuffing. He wrongfully accused Kimberly of being a part of the fraud, despite the evidence she offered of her being ineligible to vote in the ballot. When the Duke of Creasur called for a rebellion to restore the old administration, Kimberly could not allow him to succeed. She was one of the first to side with the new administration, and the initial stage of the rebellion was quashed easily. But the Duke of Reeds was one who saw the same issues that the Duke of Creasur had, but rather than be outright vocal about them, he worked behind the scenes, and during the end of the Rebellion, he seceded Reeds from Plergoth, and formed the Rebel Realm of Vlaanderen.

For six months the nation of Plergoth was embroiled in a bitter civil war. The Rebels brought the first allies in, bringing in the nations of Khthon and Sint. Eventually Plergoth countered with bringing in Mesh and Ashborn. Through this war Kimberly was elected as Minister of Defense, which she served most ably. Until the invasion occured.

Kimberly had found a place in faith of Daishi, a place that placed her and her soldiers in state of perpetual war with the Minions of the Undead. The ideal of being a grand Paladin against the forces of evil had been something she found very satisfying. When the call came to reform Plergoth to a Theocracy wholly devoted to Daishi, she was one of the first to jump.

Plergoth had fought valiantly against the spawn of the walking dead, and the roaming monsters, then a new threat had emerged, the insane Chenier family had brought forth Daimons to Beluaterra, and those Daimons marched into Plergoth. The Daimons were promptly defeated by the combined forces of Mesh and Plergoth in the great battle of Cwellndell. The casualties were high on the allied side, but the pit lord had been slain, and what remained of his army had been routed. The cheers of jubilation had turned to despair as the Pit Lord had resurrected itself, and raised an army even larger than the one they had fielded earlier. The allied army had no chance against this Pit Lord.

Kimberly was certainly used to losing to superior numbers. There was no doubt that the Army of Plergoth had been destroyed countless times during the civil war, almost always by the combined forces of two nations. Now Hellspawns roamed the lands, and Kimberly began falling into a state of depression. Her armies could do nothing to stop them. She heard a call, from Jobbo's Mouth. Supposedly the stronghold of the Daimons. On her way to investigate the call she made friends with Thrydwulf of Heen, who insisted on joining her. Unfortunately, an emergency back home had called her away before she could make it all the way to the lip of the now active volcano. But the mountain still called to her.

In December 1007, just over a year since her arrival on Beluaterra, the call of the mountain continued to grow, until finally she had snapped. Relations between her and the Pontifex of Plergoth had been strained by her inability to focus on her task at hand. Finally it came to a head when both persons likely said things that they will later regret. Kimberly found herself completely overwhelmed with the desire to answer the call that had been bothering her for the last five months, she left Plergoth behind and has begun to roam the countryside, in search of her answers.
