User:Marc J./Character Template Help

Before I start let me say that this is my first attempt at making a template and that this one is based off of Tom's userdata template.

Okay, lets get going. Now, in order to make this work, you have to know what you're supposed to change. I'm going to be going into a lot of detail, so if you already know what you're looking for, scroll down until you find the section you're looking for.

Here is the template:

{character name}
{}
Realms character has been in:
{realm1}
{realm2}
{realm3}
  Continent:
{continent1}
{continent2}

{continent3}

As you can see, there are three major sections; the Name, the Realm, and the Continent.

Name

This is the major part that you will be concerned with:

{character name}<br><i>{}</i>

Everything with these symbols: "{}" around them, you will change. The "{character name}" is obvious, (I recommend that you include the last name/clan name, but you don't have to).

The "{retired}" text is an extra. If the character that you are making this for has been deleted/retired, then remove the curly brackets, (the "{}"). If the character is active, then delete the whole <i>{retired}</i> part.

Realm

This one can be tricky. This is the major part you will be concerned with:

{realm1}<br>{realm2}<br>{realm3}<br>

Let's say that the charater you are writing this for has only been in two realms, Keplerstan and Klepisan. What you would do to put this on the template is write "Keplerstan" over top of "{realm1}". Leave the brackets as they are! All realms have a page, so the brackets automaticly add a link to "Keplerstan"'s page. To add "Klepisan", do the same thing, but this time put "Klepisan" over top of "{realm2}". Once you've done that, delete the remaining "{realm3}" because you don't need it.

Hint 1: It's a good idea to put the realms in chronological order, i.e. the first realm your
character joined, should be put in the "{realm1}" spot
Hint 2: If your character has been to more then three realms, just add this:

{realm4}<br>
after the:
{realm3}<br>
Once you've added that, then replace the "{realm4}" with the name of the realm you want to pput there.

Continents

This one is almost identical to the Realms, but theres a slight difference. Here's the major part you will be concerned with:

{continent1} {continent2} {continent3}

To figure out what the replace the underlined text with, refer to the "Realm" part.

{continent1}

In order to find what to put in the bold part above, refer to this page.

Hint 3: The page is the page for East Island, but you can find of the continents you want there as
well.

{continent1}

You replace the italicized part above with whatever you put in the first "{continent1}" place. (For example, if you put "East_Island" in above, you would put "East Island" in to this part)
