History

The History of Ubent is long and complex. Unfortunately, because few records exist, only a partial history is preserved. The following is the history of Ubent as written by the previous historians of Ubent. This period of time is commonly referred to as the rule of the "Iron Throne of Ubent"

Initially a small mountain realm, Ubent grew to become one of the most powerful realms on the island under the rule of benevolent dictator Burning Hawk. At the height of its power, Ubent extended from Az Zarqa in the west to Mashad in the east, and from Meuse in the north to Enubec in the south. The cities of Hamadan, Partora, Isadril, and Xavax were all under Ubent rule at one time or the other, and both Aix and Al Arab were close to falling.

After that, Ubent began to restructure itself, creating Fallangard in the south, and gave regions away to its allies. It was the only realm on the island that called all its direct neighbours friends.

After restructuring, Burning Hawk stepped down and the people of Ubent elected Bethe as the new ruler. During his rule the Southern Alliance was assembled and Ubent was one of the major realms in the alliance. This great war continued for a time, and the southern alliance was on the verge of victory on several fronts.

After Bethe, a foreigner was elected to be the next ruler of Ubent; still in the heat of the war between the two great alliances, an old refugee, a former Omskish lord, Efraz Beg ascended to the throne.

Bethe returned after a month when the situation changed. Ibladesh attacked Fallangard, Ubent's ally, and the fight between old enemies began again. Ibladesh quickly lost half of its territory and surrendered. Bethe then joined into an alliance with Ubent's former enemies and place Ibladesh under Ubent's protection. Some time later Fallangard, child of Ubent, allied with Itorunt and declared war on Ibladesh and Caligus. Ubent rushed to the aid of it's allies. Durring the war of southern rebellion, Bethe fell ill and Ubent was ruled by Quill. When quill was wounded or ill, greys and Sparticus took their turns on the Iron Throne. Towards the end of the war, Bethe recovered and retook the Iron Throne. It took nearly 6 months of hard campaigning, but Isadril, Fallangard's capital finally fell to the combined might of the southern alliance. Nearly 5,000 troops took part in the final assault.

The mission completed, Bethe once again fell ill, and this time his illness was fatal. He quickly passed barely able to give a goodbye to the realm. At this time, the General of the Realm Ioshus was elected Dictator.

Chaos arose after the rise of Yssaria and peasant revolts occurred throughout Ubent.

Here continues the tale of Ubent, as told by current historians:
The long line of rulers that occupied the seat once known as the Iron Throne of Ubent had fell, and was replaced with a new government. Led by the oldest and most noble troopleaders, over half the realm decided that the tyrant Scyld did not adequately represent the spirit of the Iron Throne, which, in the past, stood for honor, honesty, and integrity.

He was offered a chance to step away from the throne peacefully, but instead decided to attempt to regain power. He has since been banished from Ubent, and is not allowed to return, upon pain of death.

All other loyalists have been pardoned, were allowed to remain in Ubent, and they continued to fulfill their duties as full-fledged nobles of Ubent.

New Government
At the request of the people of Ubent, the Iron Throne has been officially replaced by the new Republic of Ubent. The Republic will choose an official representative each month to lead Ubent to honor and glory. No ruler will ever be considered above the will of the people of this nation again.

Illidorn was named as the de-facto Prime Minister following the successful rebellion against Scyld. He stepped down as promised and the people have elected their Prime Minister monthly since.

The senate was formed, but is not a group of the super-elite; there will be turnover. The senate's job is to discuss and approve policy. The senate and the Prime Minister are answerable to the members of the republic.

Present Day

The Republic of Ubent is a nation of noble warriors transferring their skills to other areas (eg trade), and has accepted a peace agreement with the southern states and offer peaceful relations with all realms. Ubent accepts the limitations in place within the peace agreement and that was decisively agreed in a public vote by the whole republic.

However, as of recent Ubent has forced along side its ally Tuchanon V against Itorunt but, the Perdanese war against Ibladesh has swallowed up Ubent. Perdan has invaded Ubent and taken our Capital, all we have left now is Bursa.
