Dyan

Dyan is Fey's fraternal twin brother. He was born a day after she. He is short, with long curly brown hair. His face is scarred deeply all down the left side and across his left eye, which has healed shut. His weapon of choice is the longbow, and he has a keen aim despite his one-eyed vision. Dyan is known to be a curious and innovative young man. He was never a fierce fighter in his youth, but as he has grown he has found purpose and become one to be reckoned with.

He left home at a young age to be apprenticed as a scribe, but soon found more interest in using the information he was copying down, and decided to become a trader. He began a career in the realm of Kalmar Islands, on the East Continent. He found the extensive politics beyond his interest, and left shortly thereafter for the Beluaterra in search of a simpler life of adventure.

He found a new home and the life he'd been looking for in the northern realm of Melhed. He was welcomed warmly, and found a religion that deserved his faith, that of the Old Gods.

He became a Vanquisher for his faith, spending nearly every waking moment hunting down the monsters to prove humans' worth to the eyes of the Old Gods. Dyan suffered a severe wound in a battle with the evil children, which is what impressively scarred his face and caused his left eye to be rendered unusable, sealed shut and perhaps destroyed. He took to wearing polished claws from monsters he personally vanquished as mementos to keep his will and courage strong. Dyan lead a large complement of very skilled longbow archers, the Hawkeyed II.

Recently, Dyan was more quiet than usual, seeming to lose his faith in the peaceful times preceding the Invasion, and then in the subsequent seemingly meaningless battles with the Daimons.

With the Daimon Invasion seemingly on the wane, and reports of a new wild continent flooding in on whatever ships would come to port with Daimons nearby, Dyan felt the pull of adventure on his soul again. He disbanded his long-serving Hawkeyed and abandoned his post as lord of Rengo to board a ship to the new wild land called Dwilight.

Dwilight proved to be not what he was expecting. The land was wilder, tougher, and yet more desolate than the Beluaterra. After short stays in Madina and the Grand Duchy of Fissoa, he found himself longing for the historical depth and civilization of his former home. He recently returned to the Beluaterra, and has pledged his service to the realm of Enweil, in what is to him the very foreign south of the continent.
