This attack came as the liberite's moved in to begin a take over of Storms End, their initial army was little over 3,000 CS in strength, while the Saxon's easily possessed 8,500 CS of mobile forces, however with the presence of Summerdalian troop leaders in Storms End, the order to refrain from attacking came, as Thulsoma would not tolerate to fight Libero Empire with help from other realms, and due to the stance of Summerdale with Libero Empire, the Dalian's would be forced to fight on the side of the Saxon's; the Dalian's in question had clearly been interested in a take over of Storms End themselves, but such transgressions where of little interest, though, where Summerdale to start such a Take Over, Thulsoma would have crushed them. Waiting in the Keep, the Saxon's allowed the Liberite's to rally their full force, 6,600 CS of men, barely anything compared to the strength of the Knights Of Holy Iron Chains, the Liberite Take Over of Storms End was a success, but only because Thulsoma allowed it, wishing for the Liberite's to be defending a region, in full force against and attacking Saxon force, to dispel the Liberite defence of "They always hide in their Keep" (Which, clearly is nonsense, as the Liberite's consistently loose any battle, in any region against Thulsoma) however, at the sight of the Saxon's moving out full force, the entire Liberite army fled from the region with such speed and abandon, they left their King undefended, an act of true dishonour. Any Saxon would easily throw their lives away for their leaders if they stood alone against an incoming army. King Hawk Vozah escaped capture, but only out of his own valour in standing and fighting, rather than trying to outrun the Knights Of Holy Iron Chains.

Sigrun shook his feathered head, this entire situation was a farce, it was so ridiculous it boggled the mind. It had generally been accepted that the Liberon Empire lacked any sort of military competence, but this was beyond the pale, the moment they take Storms End, to which Thulsoma decided would be a more than appropriate time to slaughter the invading army, now that Summerdale had fled the region, and the Liberite's would be on the defensive, the Liberite army immediately begins to flee, so fast and with such disregard and fear, they leave their very king alone and unprotected in the region, who, only out of his own valour escaped capture.

Then the scout reports indicated that the Astroist's had another army rallied in Mount Black Nastrond, which then begs the utmost question of why did the Liberite's not feign a retreat, leaving their king exposed, the perfect bait Thulsoma would be sure to take up, and then secretly have the Astro-heresiarch reinforce in its entirety, slaughtering the Thulsoman's in a decisive and humiliating battle, allowing them to take the Keep virtually unopposed. Then, to make the situation even more ridiculous, it seems the Liberite's where not only retreating, but refitting, the moment their allies arrive! It's almost as if they had no coordination with their allies at all, to have such bad timing, it was the same situation in the last siege.

Then, as Sigrun looked upon the scout reports of the Heresiarchal army in Torrents Breath, he had to shake his head, any real military commander would be misdirecting, with good line settings and dug in, Thulsoma could easily win the battle in Storms End, slaughtering the invaders, any military commander could see that, the Astroist's lack any infantry to oppose Thulsoma's Five Hundred strong compliment of infantry, discounting mixed Infantry, meaning they would be slaughtered and forced to retreat, their cavalry repulsed and the archer summarily slaughtered, no doubt it wasn't a misdirect, the Astroist's displayed no more military stratagems or competence than the Liberite's they were bailing out of a humiliating defeat. What's more, was this advance made no sense at all, any competent military commander would wait in Torrents Breath for the full force to rally before risking a close battle in Storms End, which would see them forced to retreat, and if they were to advance into Storms End, what is the point? They don't have anywhere near the forces or brute strength to successfully win a siege, and Storms End was under Liberite control, or soon to be rogue, so looting it made little sense.

Considering the pace of the war, Thulsoma could comfortably raise their 8,000 CS army to 10,000 CS within the coming week if they declined to march out of the Stronghold. Sanguis Astroism's chance at winning this war, was well and truly over, far beyond their capacity, at the current standing it would take over 3,000 soldiers to even oppose Storms Keep, and Sanguis Astroism clearly lacked that, and the Thulsomaite armies continued to swell.
