The War of the Southern Queens Ends
Yesterday, the 'details' of the peace 'treaty' were finalized between Armonia and Eponllyn. In the peace, Armonia gained the rights to Ejarr Puutl, and Eponllyn gained the rights to Ar Raqqah.

The announcement of peace:

"Letter from Siana Deytheur (1 day, 3 hours ago) Message sent to the Rulers of East Continent (8 recipients) Great Rulers of the East Continent,

Today we have the pleasure to announce the end of hostilities in the south, for the mutual benefit and peace of both realms. Armonia will hold the deeds to Ejarr Puutl, that they might better feed their realm and Eponllyn will gain command of the mountains of Ar Raqquah to bolster their gold reserves. As soon as the diplomats allow it, our nations will raise formal relations to peace so that none may question our intentions.

Signed,

Siana Deytheur Queen of Eponllyn, Duchess of Semall, Margravine of Semall"

The case can be made that Eponllyn got the better end of the deal as, although Armonia won the majority of the battles, Eponllyn gained the rights to a new region. However, Armonia did gain the region in-between their two capitals, which is a key region strategically. At any rate, we look forward to writing about the next big piece of news from the far South!

Contributor Story: Internal Conflict within Dunnera
Yesterday I asked for contributors to news stories and I have received some tips already, thank you for your contribution and I welcome others to share what they wish with The White Times.

As our first contribution comes from someone who wishes to remain anonymous, I feel it is important to first go over our anonymous submission policy. We welcome anonymous contributions and will completely protect the identity of anyone sending us a story. We ask that all realms respect this policy and the idea of a free press, however if a realm wishes to dispute a story or object to its contents they may write to us as well and we will publish it. As an objective newspaper, we wish to present all sides of a story.

Our anonymous contributor has reported to us that there has been a good deal of conflict within the young realm already. Most of the factionalism comes from the origin of the various nobles within the realm. A small minority of Caligian nobles wish to align the realm more with Caligus while others wish to remain independent and create a unique culture. But, the strife is not only within words, but also with swords. The recently appointed Lord of Oporto, Tiberius Himoura, was called into question by a Sir Octai Invictus for his prior history of being a rogue sworn to no realm before he became a Lord in Dunnera. This reportedly resulted in a duel, the outcome of which we have not received word on. Similarly, Duke Aiden Menethil, the brother of King Dobromir, was recently challenged to a duel to the death by Royal Treasurer Davis Nosferatus due to comments that Duke Aiden made about the Royal Treasurer's background as an adventurer and a "lowly commoner". The duel has not yet taken place yet and we are not sure at this time if it will or not.

Again, I thank the anonymous contributor for this story from Dunnera.

A Call for Contributors and Tippers!
My plan when I originally established this paper was to report on the events of the Eastern Continent as widely as possible. Many stories as as of late have focused primarily on Nivemus and the northern realms. This is primarily because that this is the most knowledge that I have access to.

Any readers of other realms, I would greatly appreciate even a few reports or tips on stories that we could report on. As always, please respect the security of your realm, we are not asking for secrets. But, stories of elections, politics, or events are greatly appreciated. Please send anything to Neji Uzamaki, as he should be easy to reach due to his newly elected position of Kronogos of Nivemus.

Also, if there are any head priests of any religions on the island reading this, please send a message as I'd like to conduct interviews with all of you eventually to provide a picture of your faith to all our readers.

A big thank you to all of the readers out there, you are what makes this newspaper important.

Neji Uzamaki elected Kronogos and Iolanthe De La Coeur elected Arithagon, in Nivemus
As we previously reported, Kronogos Talius of Nivemus stepped down and elections were ran for the new monarch for Nivemus. Neji Uzamaki won uncontested and with a large amount of votes. Also elected for the position of Arithagon was Iolanthe De la Coeur, the Countess of Pucullpa, she just barely won over Lady Gwendolyn Elorie who was the former Banker of the realm of Barca on Dwlight. The Arthagon position was opened up when Duke Monte Cristo stepped down with Kronogos Talius.

After his electorial victory, Kronogos Neji sent a letter to the rulers of the continent:

"Fellow Rulers of the East Continent,

Today, the nobles of Nivemus, the lands of the united tribes of the North, unanimously elected me as the Kronogos. I replace the old Kronogos Talius, and I look forward to making new relationships with many of you.

But, first, a little about Nivemus. Nivemus is a realm that was bought by the blood of Sirion soldiers and both former Old Rancaguan and Sirion lives. Due to this, obviously, it has been influenced by Sirion and Old Rancagua, as many of you know. However, after it's creation, people from other realms influenced this realm, people from all over the North, all over the continent, all over the world has made Nivemus into what it is today.

Many of you probably consider Nivemus a 'puppet state', as many newer realms are labeled. A servant of Sirion, as it were, ready to bow to our allies beck and call. That is not the case. I cannot claim that Nivemus is as strong, or as storied, or as war-hardened as other realms on this continent, but I can say Nivemus is just as sovereign a state as any realm on this continent. When we make deals, we make deals standing tall and with an outstretched hand. We have our own people, our own nobles, and our own history, and we continue to make that history each day.

In conclusion, I look forward to working with you as the Kronogos of the sovereign state of Nivemus, the land of the united tribes of the North: the Haradrim, the Desertulo, the Litustrum, and the Posperulo.

Regards, Neji Uzamaki Kronogos of Nivemus, Marshal of the Army of Nivemus"

Talius Valorian, Kronogos of Nivemus steps down
Kronogos Talius has stepped down as planned today, and elections are expected to run soon. As reported previously, now Duke Talius supports Neji Uzamaki, Lord of Salta and Marshal of the Army of Nivemus to succeed him. Full election reports soon to come!

The Obsidian News Returns to Print
I'm glad to announce that the Obsidian News, an excellent newspaper written by Emperor Shady Soulja of the Obsidian Islands, has recently begun reporting news again since their silence in May of earlier this year. We look forward to the competition and heartily recommend that our readers check them out as well as well as the excellent New Westmoor.

Kronogos Talius of Nivemus resigns.
----

"Nivemus,

I am pleased we have gotten this far. We have reclaimed much of our former regions despite a few political moves taking some regions away from the overall plan. I am very proud to have united these lands once again.

I come to bring some news. As many know I have become silent, reading and writing in my Palace. I have spent many nights meditating and visiting the temples. I finally after many years find my mind clear and I no longer feel the stress I carried for so long. Though there is darkness on the horizon that is something unforseen and always present. We needed to get to this point in our growth to finally be taken seriously among the table of nations.

I have spent my latter days with planning Nivemus, planting the seeds and helping it through its infancy. WE are now a young powerful nation on the verge of great things though I regretfully must inform you all that I do not wish to grab the reigns in this next step we take together. My mind is burned out, im old. Plain and simple. I will play a part still, but a new face must lead.

This is my formal resignation from Kronogos of Nivemus.

I give my blessing to Neji Uzamaki to lead this great land of Clans. He has proven to be a great friend and ally. Fierce warrior and faithful follower, all these qualities have molded him into a great leader here.

I now make this my last letter as Kronogos. May this be a step into a brighter future!"

Talius Valorian Kronogos of Nivemus, Duke of Ashforth, Margrave of Ashforth

An Interview with the King of Dunnera, Traemlin Augulus.
We recently reported on the rise of the new realm of Dunnera, today I sat down and wrote a few letters to the King of the newly formed realm. He was happy to respond and gave some great answers. I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did writing it.

Vessol: King Traemlin, many reading this that are not from the realm of Caligus, including myself, do not know about your personal history leading up to becoming the King of the realm of Dunnera. Could you share with us where you first started your career and how you rose the ladder to where you are now?

King Traemlin: I was born in Caligus sometime around 36 years ago, but I'll gloss over most of my childhood. At age 18, I came into my noble right, and was knighted under Lord Septim, then Lord of Tokat. I was a cerebral young lad, and I had taken an interest in military matters at a young age. Within a year of becoming a knight, I was entrusted with Marshalship of the Caligus Red Gryphons, the oldest proudest of Caligus's armies, with a rich military history. At that time, Caligus was warring with both Perdan and Westmoor, and allied with Ibladesh to the south. I led the Gryphons for a number of years, and was eventually eventually ran for and won the position of High Marshal of Caligus. During my tenure, I saw the defeat of the Diocese of Aix, Ibladesh, and Fontan. I was annointed Lord of An Najaf, a region claimed from Fontan during the war. I still reside in the very manor I claimed that day. During my time as High Marshal, I became good friends with my King, the venerable Dobromir Menethil, and was an active member of Caligu's advisory council for many years. He saw fit to entrust Dunnera to me, and now I am undertaking this enterprise with his good wishes behind me.

V: Many realms on this island have chosen their names from cities the cities that they were established in, you have not. What is the meaning behind the name Dunnera, if any?

KT: The name Dunnera has a rich history behind it, as anyone who has spent considerable time with the peasants of Fontan or An Najaf will know. In fact, the name comes from a folktale regarding the creation of the Old Forest that covers most of Braga and Oporto. If you are interested, I'll gladly recount the full tale for you.

V: What is your realms near and long term goals? As a nation situated and colonized by two major powers, you are quite in the middle of many politics.

KT: At the moment, Dunnera is expanding into our claimed regions. There is much to be done when creating a realm from dust, and my life has become rather busy. Before creating Dunnera, I likely received a tenth of the letters I see today. Of course, it is worth the effort. Dunnera is in the process of creating a unique banner, codifiying its laws, and electing the first officials to the High Council. In the long run, we wish for peace, as any sane ruler should. You are right that we are a "hot topic" in politics these days, but I have little to fear. With great relationships with both Sirion and Caligus, Dunnera has a bright future ahead of her.

V: As a noble from Nivemus, I have seen many other realms label our realm as nothing more than a puppet realm of Sirion, either justly or unjustly depending on your views. What would you say to those nobles saying that you are a puppet realm of Caligus?

KT: Dunnera is a sovereign nation. While it is true that she was created in a joint effort from both Sirion and Caligus, Dunnera will operate according to her own agenda. That isn't to say that we'll be disregarding anything Caligus or Sirion has to say, the truth is far from that! Rather, our two parent realms saw fit to grant me autonomy under the pretense that I would continue to build good relations with my neighbors, and integrate both Sirionites and Caligans into Dunneran society.

V: Finally, If you could speak with a young and aspiring noble, what would you tell them to encourage them to join Dunnera?

KT: In fact, I have spoken with a number of young and aspiring nobles! Joking aside, I would tell them that Dunnera is a realm of opportunity for quick advancement, a close community, a blend of cultures, and a place where your voice will be heard. I pride myself on quick communication, and I am highly active in day to day life. I actively encourage all members of our realm to send me messages about anything they want to talk about - be them suggestions, questions, or simply idle chatter.

V: Thank you very much for your time King Traemlin, it was a please talking to you.

KT: It has been a pleasure to chat with you, and I hope that my answers shed some light on what life is like withing Dunneran society. As always, I welcome anyone to send me questions they may have

An Interview with Sirion Prime Minister Zakilevo Lapallanch
Today, I lettered with Sirion Prime Minister Zakilevo Lapallanch and asked him a few questions about his time in Sirion, his soon to be departure of Sirion, the next Prime Minister of Sirion, and the current Sirion tournament.

Neji Uzamaki- Prime Minister Zakilevo, you fought in the Great War as a knight, rose through the ranks to become General, and ultimately as General destroyed the Sultanate of Asena. As ruler, you have changed the flag of Sirion as well as gone to war with Westmoor. You have a long, proud career. What would you say is your crowning achievement in Sirion?

Zakilevo Lapallanch- It is probably starting the Westmoorian war. Through the war, we revitalized our military and gained 15~20 or so nobles. Our military suffered from long peace and became very disorganized. But I can proudly say our machine is back in action, ready to fight Sirion's enemies effectively.

NU- If you could do one thing differently in your career in Sirion, what would you have done differently?

ZL- If I were given a chance to change something, I would like to choose my first term as General of Sirion. I want to fix the first siege of Oroya and skirmish in Juazeiro, where Royal Bastian Moore lost his life. I could have planned things more thoroughly and could have saved more soldiers.

NU- After only a few short months as Prime Minister of Sirion, you are not only stepping down as Prime Minister, but also leaving for the newly created realm Dunnera. Is there a reason for your leaving Sirion completely, and do you ever plan to return?

ZL- I have worked in Sirion for most of my life but I just feet like I have done what I could within Sirion. I am leaving Sirion to find something I could do outside of the realm now. I hope to improve the relations between the republic and the colony. As for my plan to return Sirion, I am not sure. I do not have a plan on that yet.

NU- Sirion has a long tradition of electing their Generals to become Prime Minister. Do you think General Webin will become the next Prime Minster?

ZL- Doubt it. I don't think General Webin is interested. Maybe he will change his mind in the future.

NU- What advice do you have for the next Prime Minister in his reign?

ZL- Be honest, do not make back deals (like King Jor). Honesty will be the biggest weapon you can wield. Always be open to other opinions. Nothing is perfect. Do not believe for a second everything you are doing is right and will work out. Always plan things ahead.

NU- Under your reign, Sirion and Nivemus has enjoyed better relations, especially since the bannings in Nivemus. Would you suggest to the next Prime Minister of Sirion to continue building that relationship stronger?

ZL- Of course. We can improve our relations more. I have told the council a few ideas and I hope the next Prime Minister will work on them.

NU- With you joining the new realm Dunnera, will you advocate for good relations between Sirion and Dunnera?

ZL- That is my plan. I want Dunnera to become a trusty ally of Sirion. By doing so Sirion will secure their south while the colony will secure their north.

NU- Do you view this tournament as your going away party, in a sense?

ZL- I guess you can say that. This tournament has turned into one of the biggest tournaments in a couple years. Can even be considered the biggest tournament ever since the Great Northern War started. This tournament is being held to celebrate Sirion's victory over Westmoor and Duke Ecthelion's 10th anniversary in Sirion. Even Westmoorians are here to congratulate Sirion's vicotry.

NU- Do you have any bets on who will win the tournament in swordfighting or jousting?

ZL- I am betting for either Duke Ryu or Lady Andra for swordfighting. For Jousting, I think it will be Sir Cain.

I thank Prime Minister Zakilevo for his time!

A new realm out of the ashes of Fontan: Dunnera
A new realm has formed out of the secession of Fontan and it's nearby regions from Caligus. Forming a monarch by the name of Dunnera, it is headed by King Traemlin Augulus, the rest of the government has yet to be formed.

The nobles of the new realm are a mixture of Caligian and Sirionite nobles as well as Fontanese nobles. As reported by the 'New Westmoor', the current Prime Minister of Sirion, Zakilevo Lapallanch , plans to join the new colony as well. It will be interesting to see if this will bring the two realms of Caligus and Sirion together, turning the the three power blocs of the continent into two.

Look forward soon to an editorial detailing the history of the now fallen Fontan, one of the original realms of the Eastern Continent.

Power Rankings of the East Continent
Hello loyal readers! I hope you have enjoyed the first couple segments from my co-editor Vessol. I am sure there will be many more interesting stories to come.

One interesting thing we will be doing every month is the EC Power Rankings. These rankings are a compilation of noble count, military strength(both mobile and total are taken into account), food supply and production, gold output, and diplomatic ties. Other factors may be taken into account on occasion(such as religion/religion strength), but those are the major criteria taken into account.

So, without further to do, I unveil to you the first Power Ranking of the White Tree Times!

1. Sirion

Sirion has the biggest total military strength, as well as the most gold output, the most nobles, and a decent food supply. They have stumbled a bit against Westmoor recently, allowing Westmoor to get back a couple regions and win a few battles on Sirion territory. Nevertheless, there is no doubt who the top dog in the Sirion vs. Westmoor war is and no doubt that if the war were to drag on without interference, which side would prevail.

2. Perdan

Perdan has a bit more gold than Caligus does, as well as the second biggest total Military CS on the island(for now). Though they produce just enough food for themselves and have little room for growth at the moment, they are still the solid, second-best realm of the East Continent.

3. Caligus

Caligus rounds out the 'Big 3', slightly behind Perdan in seemingly every category. However, if Caligus were to take hold of the rogue regions to their North or South, they could quietly slide ahead of Perdan, and perhaps even Sirion. The potential is there and we will see what Dobromir, the veteran King of Caligus, does with it.

4. Westmoor

I have to be honest, I almost dropped this realm to fifth. What convinced me otherwise, though, was two things: the Church of Humanity, and the fact that they are holding their own in single combat against Sirion. Their military boasts huge numbers for a realm their size, weaving in and out between the second strongest total military to the fourth strongest. Much of this strength is tied up into militia, but they have protected their regions well as of late against the stronger Sirionite army. The Church of Humanity, also, has far reaching influence and has been become increasingly more and more involved with political affairs. Will they turn out like the Flow of the Balance? Or are they just enlightening the huddled masses? Only time will tell.

5. Armonia

Westmoor has been strong in their war as of late, but Armonia is actually winning their war. Armonia started off the 'War of the Southern Queens' by quickly taking Ejarr Puutl and then going on to win a battle or two in Jariedma. Eponllyn, although much weaker statistically, has pushed Armonia back from their inner rural regions and won a couple of defensive battles. However, Armonia is running the show right now, having more gold, more nobles, and 10K CS more total strength. Eponllyn has more food, but unless a long winter hits or another realm interferes, this showdown between the two Queens should go in Armonia's favor.

6. Nivemus

In sixth place is our realm Nivemus. Nivemus has a strong ally in Sirion and has as much total military strength as Eponllyn despite being at peace. This realm also boasts the second best food supply rate and still seems to have room to grow so far as gold production is concerned. If Nivemus continues rebuilding, they could turn themselves into a solid realm.

7. Eponllyn

Tied for the least amount of nobles, as well as somewhat overwhelmed in their current war, Eponllyn places seventh. Eponllyn has the smallest gold economy, but they try to make up for it with the best food supply rate on the continent. If they lose a few more battles, though, we could see them slip to last place in the power rankings.

8. Obsidian Islands

Three reasons why OI is in last place: One, they have 22 nobles and 11 regions, a bad noble to region ratio if there ever was one. Two, they barely have enough food to feed themselves. Three, they have the smallest military on the continent. OI has recently gained a slight gold edge over seventh place Eponllyn and has several powerful allies. If OI fixes a few of their small problems, or Eponllyn continues to lose their war, OI could easily move up a notch.

So, will Caligus rise in the standings? Can Westmoor hold on to fourth place? Can Eponllyn turn things around? As always, time will tell.

Church of Humanity and the Order of the White Tree?
It has been recently reported that King Jor, of Westmoor, has been spotted in the region of Oberndorf in Nivemus. When inquired about his presence, he stated that he was here to speak to the leader of the Order of the White Tree, Obito Uzamaki. He stated that he wished to talk about matters pertaining to the Holy Church's Ecclesiarchy. We'll bring you any updated news on the relationships with these two religions if they develop.
