The Purity of Fire and Water
One thing you must remember when talking of fire and flame, is that it is the two great purifier's in this world. The other being water, naturally. Now hold both these idea's in your mind: Fire cleanses anything and everything by burning away the impurities, Water cleanses anything and everything by washing away the impurities. One destroys, the other merely cleans. You might be wondering therefore if Fire is a tool of the Great Devourer who wants to destroy everything, I would say no. Fire burns away impurities and therefore destroys things, that much is true. However Fire also allows us to destroy something to keep it from becoming impure, to keep it uncorrupted - there is a reason why we burn our dead; to stop them from coming back to a false sense of life, a mockery of life that we call the Undead. Be it Skeletons or Zombies, Liches or Ghosts. Fire prevents the necromancers and the Great Devourer and his minions from turning those bodies into the Undead, from swelling the armies and hordes of the Abomination. In this, fire and flame service us - humankind - as well as Tyr and Zisa.
However that is not all fire does. It also has a physical effect on the world, aside from the burning and destruction and purifying, it also creates smoke - smoke which rises into the sky.
