Exclusive Interview!
24th February 2008

Exclusive interview with Ardrryn Dynrode Windsoul, Pontifex of Alebad and archenemy of Oritolon. Our reporter asks deep probing questions about the war and gets them answered! Only in the Oritolon Times!

1. In your personal opinion what was the main cause of the war?

If I didn't know better, I'd say that it was almost as if war was supposed to be the natural state of these lands. The war with Oritolon and Lukon is such an ingrained one that the reasons for it go back further than my service to Alebad. However, I have perused the library's scrolls and I would suggest that the war was started through an expansionist attitude employed by Lukon and Oritolon that lead to the downfall of Portion, and Alebad and Alowca's response to this, but I would be foolish to disregard the other intricacies of diplomacy involved also. However, peace and even alliance has been established before, and these have broken due to - to use an old adage - six of one, and half a dozen of the other.

2. How do you feel about Oritolon’s recent attack on Abaka?

I have an objective view on war that is continually clouded by a grim reality, would be the best way to describe my outlook. A realm attacks a region in order to further its power. This is neither here nor there, usually, it is simply "business." However, the desecration of the Temple of Sylph (the Kamidoic deity) caused me both grief and anger, since I felt this was unnecessary and barbarically intolerant. It also caused widespread grief among Kamidoists across Alebad. My opinion on the region is that I think it will continually change hands, but the people are more used to war than peasants ever should be.

3. How do you feel about Oritolon in general come to that?

It is the enemy, but more because of its leadership than its outlook. Verily, I have read much on Oritolon, and it holds many of the same ideals of chivalrous and cordial manner, honour and the worth of nobility. However, I am at odds with Spearhead and Zangi in particular for their callousness and disregard for honourable conduct. I feel that Oritolon is much a lackey and puppet of Lukon, though it sees itself otherwise.

4. What do you expect to see happen in the coming weeks of the war?

Only the spirits will tell. Judging from recent conflict, however, I would say that things will continue to shift back and forth, with victories and defeats on both sides, but that come year’s end, neither Alebad nor Oritolon will have made much progress.

5. How do you hope the war will end eventually? And what kind of situation would you like Alebad to be in at the end of it?

I would prefer a peaceful solution, but this strikes me as most unlikely, given that Oritolon upholds the agenda of Lukon and Lukon would see this entire continent beneath its boot, Alebad and Alowca first. If this must continue, I would see Alebad maintaining an influential diplomatic and military position. My utmost goal is that we never bow to the oppressive fist of Lukon.

6. How do you feel about your Alowcan allies?

I maintained a very good working relationship with the current ruler’s predecessor, Xerxes, as we rose up the Sister Realms ranks together, both becoming Paladin Primus before being elected Pontifex. I have yet to meet the new ruler, but I am sure that we will work just as closely. Alowca upholds similar tenets to us, and even has a similar religion. They also refuse to scrape to Lukon and Valast.

7. How do you feel about our allies in Lukon?

Lukon symbolises the iron fist of oppression in Alebad, and always has. Alebad regrets Oritolon’s close relationship with a realm that seems – to our eyes – bent upon enslaving the entirety of the Colonies. We see Lukon as the single greatest threat to freedom and the decency of nobility that we have faced. Like the man who leads a ragtag band of rebels against a corrupt king, Alebad will continue to resist Valast’s tyranny until one or the other of us is destroyed. We hope that some day Oritolon will see the truth and join the side of freedom.

8. Any upcoming military strategies on your side you’d care to reveal?

While I am pleased to answer your questions and admire your seemingly unbiased approach to at least this interview, I would be a fool to divulge any military manoeuvres that we may or may not have considered. However, you would have been a fool not to ask.

Noble Shocked!

14th February 2008

All noble of Oritolon and even across the entire colony is shocked early this morning by the surprise execution of Lancer, brother of Alfonso Lawrence former general of Alowca. Thus breaking a treaty between Oritolon and Alowca. Instilled by Justicar Zangi, renewed by Justicar Devona and more recently Justicar Actrial. The sudden execution reminded Oritolon how dishonest and untrustworthy Alwocans are. This bring out the memory of how the war between Oritolon and the two priest realm of Alowca and Alebad started, deep scar that is slowly fading away.
If any body read the history of Alowca they will find that it is filled with atrocious event. For further reading Alowca/History

Windaria Safe!
14th February 2008

Early this morning a carefully coordinated attack by certain members of the Army of Oritiolon acted like a white hot scalpel to remove the canker of foul monsters in Windaria. With minimal casualties on the part of our forces, the monsters were slaughtered and the few remnants forced to flee from the region. May they never blight our fair land again!

A Capital Move
4th February 2008

Oritolon's federated allies have relocated their capital to Portion city from Lukon city. The movement recentres their realm since they have pushed forward from Portion, and will allow them to more easily maintain the regions around the city. With less time needed to be spent on region maintainance, hopefully the move will signal a change in the war.

Oritolon Forces Triumph in Abaka
4th February 2008

In the past week, thanks purely to the tactical genius of our leaders our armies were able to overwhelm the forces our enemies had assembled in Abaka. As soon as a feeble resistance was swept away our forces began gathering reparations from the region. No doubt our enemies will call it looting but what is wrong with liberating a few hundred gold pieces from undeserving peasants, tax offices and temples of the evil Kamido. For some reason the peasants refused to accept fact and several thousand rose up in arms and were slaughtered in a series of battles. Then thanks to a brilliant piece of subterfuge we lured enemy forces into the region where, outnumbered and outclassed, they were soon annihilated. It appeared a takeover was in order, and indeed was started, but it may have to be abandoned due to restlessness amongst the commoners in Grentzen.
